I found a graffiti font and cut some temporary cardstock letters on my Cricut Maker to try this technique with, and it came out fairly decent even though I too can't freehand to save my life. Also, I was using a "POS" airbrush with a bent (and straightened) needle and I'm a rank amateur. My purple/pink/yellow gradient sucked though, looking more like three solid colored stripes.
@@quintin360 as long as you're selling airbrushed art.. I was able to sell graff names on hats at $45 - $50.. sell a few a day or on a busy weekend and the product pays for itself. If you're doing for hobby and not for selling or speed painting.. I'll the first to say don't buy it.. just freehand your letters. I'm just another UA-cam viewer but based on the information on ChinoStencils website, the material their stencils are made from is "Dura-Lar", and best I was able to determine by Googling it, it's a polyester based acetate substitute that has some of the properties of Mylar. Most of what I've found online is transparent but Chino obviously is using translucent matte material instead of transparent.
Maybe. But I think they are more for like a state fair or a birthday party or like if someone is getting married. It needs to be super legible. I've seen people use markers and airbrush, etc, and do some insane stuff on these hats, but this kit, I think, is more to make some quick money. Imagine you could charge 40 or 50 bucks in some places for these.

im pretty sure he uses a vinyl cutter like a circuit or cameo so its quicker and all stencils look the same
