He got a small fine and more probation while Crystal Mason was sentenced to 5 years in jail for the same crime. I wonder what the difference between the two is that the Republican judiciary sentenced them so differently?? Hmmm

This might be too complicated for you, but some crimes require a "Mens Rea". "Mens Rea" is "criminal intent"; the knowledge that you should not be doing what you are doing. This is one of those cases.

a few facts. The parole office admitted that at no time during her release or while on supervision did they discuss whether or not she could vote. Only 2 witnesses were brought in to testify against her, 1 was a polling judge who also happened to be a white neighbor that had trouble with the all 3 black families in the neighborhood. The other was also a white neighbor and polling worker. There is no mention in the trial of her speaking to a defense attorney "before she voted", so I am assuming that happened after the voting.
Brian Prichard a republican official voted 5 times in Georgia ( white) republican. All he did was to pay a fine.

At 0:36 -- Are felons who are on supervised release (such as this woman) ever told by the those in the criminal justice system as they are going on supervised release that they CANNOT vote until a certain time, or are they supposed to know this from general knowledge?
If the latter, I suspect that this would be a stretch for many people. If felons were told about this action specifically it would make ignorance of the law (which is still no defense) much more difficult for someone to claim.
