    Affordable well made guitars are taking over.... in hard economic times a lot more people will buy these than premium stuff for sure 🎸

      It's true! It's nice to know you don't have to spend thousands for something decent.

      Not really "hard economic times" when people are buying cars worth more than what I paid for my house, and they are affording it.
      Naw, folks just don't care to be ripped off by the big name manufacturers anymore.

    I'm digging this thing, I can't say I'm loving those pickups considering the intended use case, but that's a minor thing. Also hearing quite a lot of buzz with this one even on lower gain, almost sounds like single coils

    • @JakeLeighGuitar
      @JakeLeighGuitar  8 місяців тому +3

      Yeah I need to investigate these pickups further! Listening back it could absolutely be 60 cycle hum, so I might need to check the wiring. Thanks for the comment!

    Hey Jake - another great vid - thanks!! Wonder, how would you rate it in comparison to that other budget guitar you really like - the Fazley Outlaw Sherriff Plus.......?? Thanks for any comments! 🤘

    Hi, i own the harley benton replica, and is terrible, is this better ?

  • @StuartBridson

    What's the back of the neck like? Is it just a satin wood finish? I had the HB version and sold it because I hated the sticky matte paint on the neck, this is an infinitely better spec instrunent. Personally I think you throw a pair of Tonerider or Irongear in here and have a killer instrument for under £400. I love the fact it hasn't got active pickups because it makes for a more straightforward swap when it comes to changing pickups, you don't immediately need to replace pots and everything unless you feel like it.

    • @JakeLeighGuitar
      @JakeLeighGuitar  8 місяців тому

      Yeah I totally get what you mean. I think I’m gonna try sanding the finish off the back of my HB version, it really ruins the feel. No sticky finish on the Jet, feels like a lightly oiled, very thin satin finish. Totally different level to the HB.
      Yeah I agree about preferring the passive pickups. I’m not sure if the bridge is grounded on the HB versions because they’re using active pickups, so that could be another headache when converting it from active to passive. Thanks for the comment!

      @@JakeLeighGuitar The neck on these Jet guitars just seems levels above everything else in a similar price range other than the Harley Benton Fusion series when they're using roasted necks too.

    I have the Harley Benton version.
    I've had to change the bridge, tuners, nut and pickups.
    Not to mention the 3-way selector switch so basically everything.
    The only thing good about the Harley benton version is the esthetics.
    Just ordered the JET so let's see if it's any better.

    I'd honestly rather Richlite than rosewood at this point. I live in a part of Canada where the humidity fluctuates wildly over the year, and keeping my house at a steady level is a nightmare. I'd rather just not have to deal with the annual "okay what needs filing" routine at all.
    But yeah that looks sick. Do wish it was fully blacked out, but meh not the end of the world.

    • @JakeLeighGuitar
      @JakeLeighGuitar  8 місяців тому +1

      I would really love more companies to experiment with Richlite and other composites too. I can see why they avoid it though, knowing how guitarists are! Thanks for the comment!

    shame it doesn't have a tone knob on it tbh, idk why though? would probs need a few minor upgrades to be an excellent guitar in general.
