4axis Swarf Drive in NX CAM: Tool axis derived using Python

  • In this video, I detail a challenging 4axis drive problem. The customer has indicated that a swarf drive must be used to accurately machine the top and bottom curves of a surface. The surface itself is irregular and cannot be used to derive the tool axis vector. We’ll use modeling techniques, assembly techniques, and NX Open automation with Python to solve this problem.
