After several years working in the office, I found myself wanting to change the career that I could develop a specific set of skills. So, I decided to quit the old job and to start to learn the flying which had been an old dream since I was a little kid. I had a friend who also happened to have the same goal as I do so we came to the US together. We had never looked back ever since. Korean script : 어떻게 영어를 가르치는 일을 시작하게 됐는지에 대한 질문을 가끔 받는데 사실 저도 잘 몰라요. 어쩌다가 하게 됐어요. 대학을 졸업할 무렵에, 내가 뭘하고 싶은지 잘 몰랐지만 특정 능력을 계발하는 데에 집중하고 싶다는 것만은 알고 있었어요. 당시에, 마침 영어를 가르치고 있던 친구가 있었는데 저도 제가 장기적인 목표가 뭔지를 찾는 동안 그 일을 해보기로 했어요. 운이 좋게도 일할 수 있는 좋은 기회가 몇 번 있었는데 시간이 지나면서 그 일에 많은 열정을 가지게 됐고 그 이후로는 한번도 뒤돌아보지 않았어요.

When I was finishing high school, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do but I knew that I wanted to learn something that would allow me to develop a specific set of skills. A friend of my aunt happened to be working as a dental hygienist at the time and she highly recommended the major to me so I decided that I would give that a try while I tried to figure things out in terms of my future job. I was lucky enough to come across good people in this field and I gradually found myself really loving this major and I've just never looked back since.
I get asked about how I got into watching live academy. Frankly, I’m not sure how I found this channel. It just sort of happened. I gradually find myself getting addicted to this channel. I’ve never looked back since.

I get asked every now and then about how I got into working as software developer in Canada and, frankly, I am not really sure.
It just sort of happened. When I was quitting my former job, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do for my second career but I knew that I was confident to focus on something that would allow me to develop a specific set of skills for my rest of life.
My wife suggested moving to Canada and starting to study computer programming in a local college and I decided that I would give that a try while I tried figure things out in terms of my long term goals as software developer.
I was lucky enough to come across a few chance of co-op position and I gradually found myself really caring about the work and I've just never looked back since.

When i was working at sap, i wasn’t really sure what i wanted to do but i knew i wanted to focus on improving my English. A friend of mine happend to prepare getting a working visa of Canada at the time and i decided that i would give that a try while i tried to figure things out in terms of my long terms goald. I was lucky enough to get the visa. I gradually found myself really being improved my English. 맨뒷문장은 어색한거 같지만 그래도 영작해봤어요 ㅎㅎ

아직 '일부러'라는 표현에 대한 영상은 없었던 것 같아서요,, 간간이 영상 중간에 표현이 언급된 적은 있었던 것 같은데 종합 정리 해주시면 많은 도움될 것 같아서 조심스럽게 설명 부탁드려봅니다!
일부러, 고의로, 굳이, 구태여 등 상황에 따라 표현하는 뉘앙스 차이가 있는 것 같은데 정확하게 어떻게 써야 할 지 애매할 때가 있습니다.
이를테면 오늘은 보편과 특수에 대한 얘기를 하면서 "사람들은 미국, 영국식 발음이 영어의 스탠다드라고 생각하기 때문에 구태여 호주식, 인도식 영어발음을 배우려 하지 않는다"는 문장을 얘기하려고 했는데,, 여기서 go to the trouble to~라는 표현을 쓰는 게 적합할지 확신이 안 서더라구요!
그래도 같은 맥락 상으로 언급되는 deliberately, on purpose, intentionally 등 표현 중에서는 가장 원뜻에 근접하다고 생각하기는 하지만 trouble의 어감이 찝찝해서 완벽한 번역이라는 확신은 안드네요ㅠㅠ

set of skills 하면 무슨일을 할때 꼭필요한 skill 세트란 강조가 들어있습니다. 가령 한국 ESL Teacher 라면 skill set이 [영어, 한국어, 쓰기/읽기, 말하기/듣기, course development , organizational skills, 등]

When I was working for an architectural design company, I was really exhausted in just 1 year because of too much work and I wasn’t really sure If I could keep doing this work even in the future as well. And I happened to find there were some global markets to sell digital files at the time and I decided that I would give that a try while I tried to figure something out to get out of this company. I was lucky enough to meet many customers who love my design and I gradually found myself really caring about the work, and I’ve just never looked back since I quit the company and started focusing on my own business.
