Hi Nathan! I know that at least 379013 was fitted with batteries. The future of these units is not known so they may well join another operator requiring the batteries. I believe the same technology which was tested in the 379s will also be used in the 377s to remove their diesel trains.
@@StarlifeStudios I agree. Those diesels from Southern need replacing and they are on my local line. I hope they put batteries in the 377s and use the third rail to charge them.

Hi Arnold, I think in the present day (Jan 2021) all the StanEx services are 745s. I didn’t realise that about 379001, I’ll take a look at when I went to Cheshunt to see if I saw that unit in June. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍🏻
Unfortunately Greater Anglia won’t be keeping the Class 379 Electrostars because they have ordered an extra 44 Class 720s that will make the total of 133 Class 720s to operate on the Great Eastern Main Line, West Anglia Main Line and branch lines in Essex. And I do think that the Class 379s are to be moved for storage but not scrapped since they were built in 2010-2011. I would like to go back here, I don’t really think I gave the station that much credit. There are some interesting coupling and separating that occurs here at some points in the day, as well as the freight that avoids the station entirely. Maybe this is a good livestream station 🤔. A bit of both Jon! I had watched a video by @KTV Videos at Cambridge prior to filming this and he said that “rear horns always seemed to happen at Cambridge”.. I certainly proved that true!! The horn is also very similar to classic APT tones as well, all round goodness.
Hi Anakin, all trains that run on the UK rail network are given a dedicated four character identity, known as a headcode. I use a website like opentimetrains or realtimetrains to match up my sightings to the headcodes. Thanks for the question 🙂

Hello Jake! At bigger stations I tend to do two things; firstly, I check if there is a help/customer service desk and then let them know what I’d like to do. Sometimes your given an ID or asked to sign in. Secondly, if that first one isn’t possible, then I alert the platform staff of where I’ll be and what I’m doing. Waterloo gave me a Visitor ID, Euston didn’t but the BTP gave me a visit whilst filming. Overall, it’s just common sense 😃 Thanks for watching.
Well,since Cambridge North opened,Greater Anglia do not use it as often,but GN/Thameslink used to run a London-Cambridge semi fast,but I think it got cut back to Royston.

Cambridge is quite a good railway station with different trains coming to/from London, Norwich and the Midlands. Including Great Northern Class 387/1 Electrostar and Class 365 Networker. Thameslink Class 700 Desiro City. Greater Anglia Class 317, Class 755 Flirt and Class 379 Electrostar. And Crosscountry Class 170 Turbostar. Plus maybe Great Northern might inherit the Class 379 Electrostar with Greater Anglia replacing them with the Class 720 Aventra as well the Class 317 also being replaced. I know that one of the Class 379s had a battery in it temporarily but I wished it was kept and fitted into all the units.

Yes it was great to see the 66s on this route, the Fen Line is one of the best places to see GBRf operates trains heading from the east to west.
