During my time as an intern doctor posted in ophthalmology, I came across such a horrifying case of keratitis in a patient following contact lens use. Our patient was a wedding planner and manager and had worn contact lenses for some few hours after a gap of some months. She said that occasionally she uses contact lens for past few years but had recently worn it after a long time…. Next day she presented to our opd with completely blurred vision, photophobia, watering, redness, unable to see…. After instilling a dye in her eye we examined through the skit lamp microscope and saw that she had horrendous corneal ulcer involving more than 80% of cornea. It was a very bad case of infection and our professor said that after antibiotics etc, her vision would probably still not be restored completely and she may need corneal grafting to get her 100% vision back. Such was the extent of damage to her eyes, leaving permanent scarring and damage to her vision… all because of that single contact lens use. The way to prevent such an event is to maintain hygiene. Our patient used to wear lenses occasionally and probably didnt change them and used them after a long time. It was clearly contaminated. She was advised to use Single wear disposable lenses if she was an Infrequent user. Also 2 layers of lenses is certainly not advisable. And Please do not trust someone else providing lenses. You should personally go and buy them from a certified place, handling them yourself only. It is not supposed to be handled by others at all. Believe me, even important occasions like wedding, etc are not worth causing such damage to your eyes.

Makeup is to enhance beauty but nowadays makeup are like transforming a person into another! I Have respect for the makeup artists but charging 50k-100k for something temporary is just painful to digest for me. They may use high-end products but one product is used on so many others as Foundation/lipstick aren’t finished that easily. So, the Makeup products cost can't be the issue here to charge soo extra!

It's better to go to a person who makes you feel secure and knows what would suit your skin and the whole get-up, instead of hiring these so-called MUAs. I did B.A.LL.B and I paid Rs 34000 per year. And if to sum up I paid Rs 1,70,000 total. For the entire degree. While she is charging Rs 200000 for what.. that can be learned online, in beauty parlours. I can guarantee that none of these woman paid this much to learn makeup. Also none of them are their course certified with skill India, then what’s the point.

Embracing natural beauty is a far cry, because too much make up has created such an identity crisis that you have to apply make up on a daily basis to stop facing backlash on your natural look. I am mua I have just started doing makeup professionally, mane ache academy and university se exam diya hai and I'm well educated and even original high range products hote bhi mai minimum charge karti hu. Even I'm still practicing makeup and studying cosmetology. I don't think makeup artistry ajkal koi art ke liye karta hai everyone is going for opening academy, they both are well known big artist but ajkal kolkata mai itne makeup artists hai jo bas academy khol rahe hai, they are charging 40k/50k for 2/3 month course, bhale hi makeup sikha pao ya nahi, it's all about business now a days, even many people are joining this academy to earn lots of money without having patients and learning properly. I stay in kolkata so I have seen this very closely, har place mai 2/3 makeup ke academy hai, har batch mai 12/15 students. Phir they don't want to practice and handle clients because har time season nahi hota so for full time earning recently new mua bhi academy khole hai. I feel so bad when I see their works, and they use a hell lot of edits. I am certified but still I am practicing on paid models , and building my techniques, still a learner. I feel bad about how the makeup industry is destroyed. Clients ko as a prop use karte hai for practicing, experiments idk why. No matter mere pass itne clients nahi hai but I'm happy that I'm honest and not ruining people's skin, eye, hairs, even special occasions. ❤ I never write comment but it was just .. What I felt after watching this video.
Tbh it's totally a wrong choice to attend seminars before doing a professional course. In seminars they just showcase the particular look and hence you don't get to practice it. Whereas in a professional course you will learn from the basics. But yes it's not necessary to learn from big muas that charge alot, you can start learning from the several makeup academies. Also, your videos are truly amazing!!
Trust me girls you can learn the same makeup in a week by yourself. There are so many tutorials on youtube. Moreover these MUA's charge extra for photoshoot after the completion of course and most of their tips are those that international MUA's don't recommend. These MUA's only have one or two looks and they just copy and paste on their clients. These are not even much talented. P.s - i'm not hating on anyone, i'm just stating the facts so that Girls and Women don't waste their hard earned money on these scammers

I too wanted to learn MUA From a famous artist .. which cost 1.2Lakh.. then I switched to beautician course because I wanted to get client easily and quickly to gain my money back... In mua you have to wait for wedding season . But in beautician you will get client on daily basis

Parul Garg is not at all as she looks online.. I got my bridal makeup done from her and she gets very annoyed if the bride wants to give her input in the look. And tries to overpower herself on the bride.
It's ridiculous to charge amounts like 50k or 1L for just a one time makeup, even if it's bridal. Even charging 25k should be when you are using high end brands. These people are really looting brides because the same artists will work for a lot less or free on tv serial and film sets, so that they can get associated with big names, and charge more to their clients. It's terrible how everyone in makeup and fashion industry just exploit others beneath them.
I don't think it is wrong if they charge such hefty amounts. The main purpose they do all those things is for money right. There are so many muas who do great makeup and even charge less. It totally depends on the person which makeup artist they want to go for. I don't find anything wrong with a person having a great skill and deciding their own worth. They are not forcing anyone to come to them the reason people go is because its compelling they are so damn good with what they do. It is like saying armani or louis Vuitton should lower their prices. There are things available at the lower cost as well without even compromising with the quality but people still go for high end luxury brands. Like i might agree that bhumika bahl does awful makeup compared to the price but parul garg is lit.
@@pranjalimaithani We can't compare one-time makeup with luxury dresses or bags as the latter are much more durable and kind of an investment. I'm not advocating for downplaying their makeup art but overpricing should not be considered acceptable. After all bridal makeup is less about art, and more about practice and experience. Art wise, SFX and concept makeup require more creativity and skill than bridal makeup and still they don't charge so much. Clearly famous influencer MUAs are just exploiting the brides' vulnerability because they know brides would pay them any price out of FOMO.

Mam, maine 1.2 lakh ka advance makeup courses kiya 2018 me delhi k famous makeup artist se 20 days ka course tha humari mam ne hume ek single look nhi bataya sirf eye makeup aur sikhaya deferent type k aur last k 2 -3 class me base banana bas aur last me 20 class ho gye kah diya gaya. aur makeup ki practice k liye apni hi eyes pe bar bar remove kr k practice krna padhta tha kyu ki model nhi milti thi eyes ki band baz gayi hoti thi humare.

She is not interested in social media so unka utna followers nahi hain and that to around 15 year ka experience Hain but people are always touchy about price . There was one more mua who advised to move a toner from a normal bottle to a spray bottle without any disclaimer... I did it and probably the toner was strong and supposed to be applied using cotton only or by hands, but when I sprayed it, my face started burning and turned red... This is really very scary to follow MUAs without full knowledge.
Hi, Dermatologist here. Toners are of two types. Hydrating and exfoliating. Hydrating toners can be sprayed but if it's exfoliating you can't use it in spray bottle as it is very strong.

Yes whatever she said is so true i have completed my makeup course from lakme academy few years ago and its very expensive course for me the fees was 90,000 that time and later regret why i should bought that much expensive course kyuki ki wahi same cheej or usse b aachi humhe koi normal jagah se sikh sakte h so its better to start from scratch so that agar apko aage client nhi b mil rhe toh itna bura na lage

I am mua I have just started doing makeup professionally, mane ache academy and university se exam diya hai and I'm well educated and even original high range products hote bhi mai minimum charge karti hu. Even I'm still practicing makeup and studying cosmetology. I don't think makeup artistry ajkal koi art ke liye karta hai everyone is going for opening academy, they both are well known big artist but ajkal kolkata mai itne makeup artists hai jo bas academy khol rahe hai, they are charging 40k/50k for 2/3 month course, bhale hi makeup sikha pao ya nahi, it's all about business now a days, even many people are joining this academy to earn lots of money without having patients and learning properly. I stay in kolkata so I have seen this very closely, har place mai 2/3 makeup ke academy hai, har batch mai 12/15 students. Phir they don't want to practice and handle clients because har time season nahi hota so for full time earning recently new mua bhi academy khole hai.
I feel so bad when I see their works, and they use a hell lot of edits.
I am certified but still I am practicing on paid models , and building my techniques, still a learner. I feel bad about how the makeup industry is destroyed. Clients ko as a prop use karte hai for practicing, experiments idk why. No matter mere pass itne clients nahi hai but I'm happy that I'm honest and not ruining people's skin, eye, hairs, even special occasions. ❤

Tbh it's totally a wrong choice to attend seminars before doing a professional course.
In seminars they just showcase the particular look and hence you don't get to practice it.
Whereas in a professional course you will learn from the basics. But yes it's not necessary to learn from big muas that charge alot, you can start learning from the several makeup academies.
Also, your videos are truly amazing!!
Trust me girls you can learn the same makeup in a week by yourself. There are so many tutorials on youtube. Moreover these MUA's charge extra for photoshoot after the completion of course and most of their tips are those that international MUA's don't recommend. These MUA's only have one or two looks and they just copy and paste on their clients. These are not even much talented.
P.s - i'm not hating on anyone, i'm just stating the facts so that Girls and Women don't waste their hard earned money on these scammers

I too wanted to learn MUA From a famous artist .. which cost 1.2Lakh.. then I switched to beautician course because I wanted to get client easily and quickly to gain my money back... In mua you have to wait for wedding season . But in beautician you will get client on daily basis
Go to areas where there are less parlours then you can get client easily and get popular

It's ridiculous to charge amounts like 50k or 1L for just a one time makeup, even if it's bridal. Even charging 25k should be when you are using high end brands. These people are really looting brides because the same artists will work for a lot less or free on tv serial and film sets, so that they can get associated with big names, and charge more to their clients. It's terrible how everyone in makeup and fashion industry just exploit others beneath them.
I don't think it is wrong if they charge such hefty amounts. The main purpose they do all those things is for money right. There are so many muas who do great makeup and even charge less. It totally depends on the person which makeup artist they want to go for. I don't find anything wrong with a person having a great skill and deciding their own worth. They are not forcing anyone to come to them the reason people go is because its compelling they are so damn good with what they do. It is like saying armani or louis Vuitton should lower their prices. There are things available at the lower cost as well without even compromising with the quality but people still go for high end luxury brands. Like i might agree that bhumika bahl does awful makeup compared to the price but parul garg is lit.
@@pranjalimaithani We can't compare one-time makeup with luxury dresses or bags as the latter are much more durable and kind of an investment. I'm not advocating for downplaying their makeup art but overpricing should not be considered acceptable. After all bridal makeup is less about art, and more about practice and experience. Art wise, SFX and concept makeup require more creativity and skill than bridal makeup and still they don't charge so much. Clearly famous influencer MUAs are just exploiting the brides' vulnerability because they know brides would pay them any price out of FOMO.

I asked an insta influencer (coz i liked her skills) about the prices for all functions, she said 18-20k per function (which means 1L for 5 times), it's not expensive compared to many others but IT IS ACC TO ME. even if they use expensive makeup still I find nthing worth giving 20k 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

My mother is a beautician . Mein aj tak kabhi bhi mummy ko 8k se upar kabhi nahi dekhi bridal karne ko . She is not interested in social media so unka utna followers nahi hain and that to around 15 year ka experience Hain but people are always touchy about price . Ek baar 15000 bola tha pura bridal pack keliye and then vo mana hi kar diye ki price zyada hai.

There was one more mua who advised to move a toner from a normal bottle to a spray bottle without any disclaimer... I did it and probably the toner was strong and supposed to be applied using cotton only or by hands, but when I sprayed it, my face started burning and turned red... This is really very scary to follow MUAs without full knowledge.
Hi, Dermatologist here. Toners are of two types. Hydrating and exfoliating. Hydrating toners can be sprayed but if it's exfoliating you can't use it in spray bottle as it is very strong.
I paid 17k for my wedding makeup and it was so damn good.
