To the parents the night before school:
My parent ars cool with me staying up on a school night as long as I go to bed sometime because they know that it's physically impossible to be able to sleep without being sleepy. And while you middle-aged people may get sleepy around 8 or 9 o'clock, most teenagers like me aren't sleepy until 10 or 11 regardless of how much time they look at screens, so telling us to go to bed at 8 is like telling you to go to bed at 4.
