the reason i like him the best: They offer him two or three chances to start over but he just says nah and goes with it. So many people don't have the talent to just keep the audiences attention without a script.
and here's yet another reason craig is a legend and the best talk show host of all time - he literally cleaned up his own mess. he literally swept the studio. he is so real. oh wow, all those times he joked about staying to clean up the studio after the show... *gasp*
Hell yeah! Craig was on _The Price is Right,_ so maybe Craig should crash _Whose Line Is It Anyway?_ Or maybe, that's the problem-they won't let him on because he'll break the set.
I remember I had the H1N1 when this episode aired. It hurt so much to laugh, but I couldn’t help it 😂 Now another contagion and no Craig for comfort :(
Unlike most late night hosts, who have the entire monologue written on the teleprompter or cue cards, Craig just has a bullet point list of topics to ramble off from. So it doesn't make that much difference.
this is a real hard working man! not like ll the other TV hosts today, he brakes the camera and plays it of nicely and not only that, he cleaned up after himself, best talk-show on TV by far!
Love 5:05 "People ask: do you use a teleprompter? - Well, not anymore!!" hahaha.. he's sooo winging it, getting some help from the director/crew.. still, he manages to get through it pretty well, mostly 'cos he's so giddy about the entire thing and prolly a bit nervous about not knowing what to say next.. :)
@symmylynn No, he said in an interview how he only has bullet points about what he wants to talk about on there. And usually he just ignores them, lol.
Christian Ramirez oh cool I didn’t see that It’s from 2017 though I was hoping for a recent one like late late 2018 or during 2019 but hopefully he does another one in 2020 if not sooner
Craig breaks the glass of teleprompter : we have a crappy production... Conan is better... Andy breaks the leg of the couch in conans show : we have a crappy production...😂😂😂
He stuck his hand out for a millisecond then pulled it away. I guess he figured it would have been a lot harder and less funny to finish the monologue if he was bleeding profusely.
Over 20 years ago, I had a glass door from a small cabinet break and fall onto my right hand. The difference is that it _wasn't_ safety glass and only broke into three large parts rather than shattering like the teleprompter did here. I almost lost three fingers before the end of high school! Fortunately the damage was repaired, and to this day I retain the full function of my right hand with only two surgical scars to remind me of it. (In the moment, I didn't even notice the injury at first because it almost completely severed the nerves, so I felt no pain! I didn't even notice it until I saw the blood dripping onto the carpet _and then_ I looked at my hand.)
Of course, knowing how expensive those types of cameras are, that glass probably cost like $1000. LOL Must be nice to be able to laugh and say "That was awesome" when you break expensive stuff. :)
Aleatha Vogel He was on air. If he just stopped and got all serious it'd be boring. He probably apologized and felt bad afterwards, but on camera he has to ham it up and be funny.
All 3 cameras have a TelePrompter. It's very thin silvered glass at 45*. During the slow zoom into the shattered glass, or under the slo-mo replay Cam 1 & 2 switched positions. You can see from Craig's eye movements he's back on script by Star Trek.
If he tried to catch it, the sheet of glass would have broken in half in Craig's hand, seeing as it was a very thin sheet, at which point at least one of the halves would drop to the floor and shatter anyway.
On another note...A DRY MOP TO CLEAN UP GLASS?? Yikes. Hope those guys were careful how they touched that sucker and pitched that head straight away. Glass splinters all up in your hands. Granted it was probably the closest thing around at the time.
Where I'm from a broom implies more of a brush type device. What's used is referred to as a dry mop, as you wouldn't use it for wet mopping, just cleaning large areas of basic debris and dust. They are made of fabric and not bristles, hence my comment about not touching that sucker afterwards.
WTF does physics have to do with anything? You said it would break in his hand due to sheet being thin. I said, not everyone has metal bars as fingers and a brick for a palm.
What you said is like saying that a car accident took place because gravity made the driver cross the lane into opposing traffic. Damn you earth causing humanity to die off at no fault of our own! And heck, no idea why the earth has to change its own damn climate. Doesn't it realize it is over heating? We need cars, so tell the earth to open a damn window for an hour or 2! Point is, stick to the point. If the glass was that weak, it'd broke on contact, but it didn't.
Your hands must be cybernetic and you haven't learned to control them yet or something. I mean, it is either that or he Karate chopped it or something. I like the first guess better.
I love how his first reaction was just "THAT WAS AWESOME!'
Oh Craig, never change.
the reason i like him the best: They offer him two or three chances to start over but he just says nah and goes with it. So many people don't have the talent to just keep the audiences attention without a script.

Only Craig would break a camera and act all giddy and excited about it. And not let it go throughout the monologue.
That big shard of glass sliding toward him looked pretty dangerous.
He's fine - he was wearing his flak trousers.
Man, this guy should be on Whose Line is it Anyway.
Or at least he should've been. he knows Colin, he knows Greg, and Drew is one of his best friends.
He doesnt like improv
@@jorgemaximilianocamargo6604: That's all he ever did on his show.
I thought who's line is it was all scripted..?
Hell yeah! Craig was on _The Price is Right,_ so maybe Craig should crash _Whose Line Is It Anyway?_ Or maybe, that's the problem-they won't let him on because he'll break the set.
Ok, I'm quite certain this is the firts TV show where I've actually seen the host sweep up pieces of the camera. Eat your heart out Letterman!
I recall Johnny Carson sweeping up after one of either Jim Fowler or Joan Embery's animals after it left a little "gift" on the floor in the studio.
He is the best late night host that has ever existed and will ever exist. I freakin' love this guy to bits. He makes everything funny!
Hunh, I thought "breaking the fourth wall" meant something else...
I remember I had the H1N1 when this episode aired. It hurt so much to laugh, but I couldn’t help it 😂 Now another contagion and no Craig for comfort :(
we need him now more than ever!
almost as if on cue, he has returned! [on a game show, at least, but still welcomed nonetheless]
So wait. He broke the teleprompter. AND KEPT ON GOING?
He improvises the whole show.......So I don't think it made any difference!
Yeah he's that good, and always in improv ! Shame he's stepping down, but if he doesnt love what he does anymore, what's the point, right?
Nack Nicolas He does love it. He's only leaving because his contract will have expired.
Unlike most late night hosts, who have the entire monologue written on the teleprompter or cue cards, Craig just has a bullet point list of topics to ramble off from. So it doesn't make that much difference.
Have u ever seen bill o'reilly and his teleprompter broke
this is a real hard working man! not like ll the other TV hosts today, he brakes the camera and plays it of nicely and not only that, he cleaned up after himself,

This was the first episode of his show I ever saw.
what a good episode to start on hahaha!
This warms my heart.
Me too!!!
@@jcbknght Nice! 😸
that is hilarious. pretty much standard but what a great place to pick up. he was so much better than all those/these guys
XDD His immediate reaction was to yell, "THAT WAS AWESOME!"
I really miss this show. Was showing a younger friend his "why everything sucks" video, and later came to this, because I really miss it.
"Susan! It's one of those names you can't tell whether its a man or woman!" - Craig Ferguson
Something about the way he said "Susan" just crack me up. xD
I was waiting for the day this happened
Wish he’d do a stand up special on Netflix or something soon
Funny you say that, he actually does. He has a stand up special and its hilarious
Craig Ferguson: Tickle Fight
Christian Ramirez oh cool I didn’t see that
It’s from 2017 though
I was hoping for a recent one like late late 2018 or during 2019 but hopefully he does another one in 2020 if not sooner
I wish he'd get his own show like Rogan or Crowder. Screw the networks.
Is this why they add the sound effect every time he smacks the camera now? lol
Live audience
Yes 👍
There’s a sound effect⁉️ I’ll have to pay more attention ‼️
Don't mind me, I'm just on a Craig Ferguson binge watch during lockdown.
hahaha i love craig he's def the best talk show host on tv
"Please everyone remain calm!" Lol
Hahahah i remember seeing this live and laughing my ass off, thank you for posting it!!!
How sweet to know he's a Trek fan too :)
Craig's a fan of the Sci-Fi genre in general.. He would be great as Doctor Who.
Craig: MACHELLE OBAMA WAS ON SESAME STREET!
Craig: I wish I could be on Sesame Street... But I'm not the 1st lady..... NOT YET!
Me: 🤣😂
Craig breaks the glass of teleprompter : we have a crappy production... Conan is better...
Andy breaks the leg of the couch in conans show : we have a crappy production...😂😂😂
He stuck his hand out for a millisecond then pulled it away. I guess he figured it would have been a lot harder and less funny to finish the monologue if he was bleeding profusely.
This was my first episode watching this show
Pixelated the brand on the sweeping brush. Amazing
That was the CBS bug that got blurred by the uploader.
Naughty little donkey.
He has a teleprompter? What for?
+hello, germany! It's an actual prompt. He doesn't write all of his stuff out- he just has an outline.
Just so he would remember key points like who was on that night
Normally, Craig tears up the cards used for celebrity interviews. The staff incorrectly assumed the same couldn't happen to the teleprompter. ;)
I love how nonchalant he is about it all.
And he takes the broom - and keeps it going. love this guy. :D
LIVE LONG AND PROSPER CRAIG-I KNOW YOU WILL
heh
improv genius
im not the first lady.not yet. kills me everytime :))
Ananya Same!

"aye, me ring's hurting"
i've seen this a few times and i just now got that, thanks internet
"I slap that camera every night like its a naughty little donkey!" I'm going to say that now!!
First he breaks his teleprompter, then he talks about Michelle Obama and Star Trek separately. Ain't gonna lie, but that right there is comedy.
"It's like Leave it to Beaver, without the..........! *spits drink everywhere* XD You're the best Craig.
He's so lucky the glass didn't cut him when it flew off the teleprompter! This was really funny though!!
Aww. Eventually Craig became friends with "Bill".
I like that Craig swept up the glass himself and didn't call for someone else to do it for him. He seems like a really cool guy.
I remember this event even almost one decade after it happened.
"Craig Breaks the Camera and Uses the Opportunity to Do a Tight Five About Star Trek"
this is so classic. craig at his best.
With those guests, I would break the camera too.
is that why he always stands so close? because hes reading off a teleprompter, not cue cards?
Over 20 years ago, I had a glass door from a small cabinet break and fall onto my right hand.

It's supposed to be the CBS logo, but I'm assuming it's blurred out to avoid copy write issues.
"Check that out!"
Lol, I love the crowds reaction XD
Of course, knowing how expensive those types of cameras are, that glass probably cost like $1000. LOL Must be nice to be able to laugh and say "That was awesome" when you break expensive stuff. :)
+Aleatha Vogel Also Craig is just a really good entertainer. He just keeps rolling.
Even a couple of thousand dollar repair bill wouldn't do much damage to Craig's piggy bank.
Aleatha Vogel He was on air. If he just stopped and got all serious it'd be boring. He probably apologized and felt bad afterwards, but on camera he has to ham it up and be funny.
You know, the pedestal that the camera sits on is usually more expensive than the camera itself!
You think they made HIM pay for it?They were lucky to have him.
All 3 cameras have a TelePrompter. It's very thin silvered glass at 45*. During the slow zoom into the shattered glass, or under the slo-mo replay Cam 1 & 2 switched positions. You can see from Craig's eye movements he's back on script by Star Trek.
I'm the only one getting this recommended in 2020?
3:03, Am I the only one who was hoping the broom would fall?
Normally its just the cbs logo, but sometimes its blurred, think it depends on source uploader gets clip from (online, dvr etc)
only on the late late show
I really miss this guy.
I like how he went to catch it and had to stop himself
Can you imagine Mick as Capttain Kirk singing "I can't get no satisfaction" during the ending of some Star Trek episodes? LOL
If he tried to catch it, the sheet of glass would have broken in half in Craig's hand, seeing as it was a very thin sheet, at which point at least one of the halves would drop to the floor and shatter anyway.
love the slow motion part!
lmao!
He is adorable even if he'll become 100 yrs old
oh he is so getting letters about the salute.
When he was good he was the best.
I LOVE his laugh!!!
Sound like Chanel west coast in the background laughing sometimes.
On another note...A DRY MOP TO CLEAN UP GLASS?? Yikes. Hope those guys were careful how they touched that sucker and pitched that head straight away. Glass splinters all up in your hands. Granted it was probably the closest thing around at the time.
CBS has cheap cameras. Miss Craig.
1:40 or so, while sweeping, what's pixelated near his left hand?
the CBS logo, or whatever tv broadcast logo was there.
I saw that 'Craig Ferguson on Sesame Street' video just the other day :)
@100Lavender It is the CBS logo. I imagine (and this is a guess) that it is done for copyright?
Can you imagine if they had gotten Mick Jagger to be on Star Trek TOS?
1:36 was was Craig's hand and broom pixelated then lol? Whats down in the corner lol?
he would make a good rod stewart!
His wish to be on Sesame Street came true! :D
His bit on Kirk was so funny!
naughty little donkeys-EPIC!
The cameraman.
That glass almost hit Craig or it hit him ? :o
Where I'm from a broom implies more of a brush type device. What's used is referred to as a dry mop, as you wouldn't use it for wet mopping, just cleaning large areas of basic debris and dust. They are made of fabric and not bristles, hence my comment about not touching that sucker afterwards.
@gunjank Well mainly because then they wouldn't have to change the "First Lady" title and my comment would have been less humorous as a result.
2009. (Star Trek X was released in 2009.)
Yes, the 2009 "Trek" movie was released on 09. What is the point of that comment? Not it was NOT Trek X. It was not real Trek at all.
Or they censor the CBS logo to avoid copyrights.
@3:03 cameraman laughing? :D
WTF does physics have to do with anything? You said it would break in his hand due to sheet being thin.
I said, not everyone has metal bars as fingers and a brick for a palm.
Oh, I should have known that.......excuse the dumb moment. Thank you
aaawwww would you imagine craig in sesame street!!!!???!! how cute!! craig i'm in love with you, yeah that's right!
...and so Craig Ferguson went on Sesame Street.
I don't think you understand how physics works, man.
If the glass was that weak, it'd broke on contact, but it didn't.
the battle between star trek and star wars would just be called the star wars, i think that battle has been won.
lol why'd he smack the hell out of it? That was with some strength behind it.
Thumbs up if you can't wait for Peter Jackson's "Bunched Up In The Grundle"
2019 anyone?
Craig is a bad boy
Your hands must be cybernetic and you haven't learned to control them yet or something.
