my set up is Zoom ZDM-1 mic ($69 CAD/$50 USD) Focusrite Vocaster 1 ($70 CAD/$50 USD) my opinion the ZDM suits my voice better than the rode podmic. for $100 this is a great set up you can also add in an inline mic preamp if you'd like but that brings the price up significantly. I use this mainly for livestreams, podcasts etc. I also have Samson q2u that i use for work (also a great mic for the price)
If I am interviewing people, is it best to use the two exact same mic? I’m thinking to get a nicer one and a cheaper one. And switch the cheaper one out later down the line. Would that work? Or should I just get 2 of the same cheaper mic?
I used to have the 2020 XLR. I currently use the Comica USB C on a boom stand. I use it for my Red Barn Financial podcast, and it's great. I use it for Zoom meetings as well. On my phone, almost all of the mics sound the same, but with good audio, I'd hear the major differences.
I use Audio Technica. I don’t remember which model but it has more cables/connecting options than you showed here, and a black wind screen topper. I paid just under $100, on an Amazon sale. I think it retailed for $170 off sale. It’s rated higher than the Blue Yeti. I don’t think you covered that model. 🤔 It’s too late at night to go check the box for the model number. My gamer son borrowed it for his Twitch streaming. 😫 I may have to buy another one. ☹️
I’m gonna be getting the white podmic and boom arm for my channel. For me it comes down to the looks and yes it is extremely “saucy” 😂 I know that with Rode and with Shure, you’re gonna get quality products that work like they are supposed to. I have the Go II and the the wireless go II so I’m gonna stay in the Rode fam. (Plus the matching windscreens and xlr cables are cheap ways to really add character to your shot.
Thanks this was a useful video brother. Definitely needed this. Want to start a studio for our pidcast soon, so knowing what mics to get is useful and informative.
These are just some of the top brands that we know for certain are reliable, and have good customer service. We might make a video with some of cheapest microphones from lesser known brands, but often customer service on those products is really poor.
I have the Samson Q9U, this Mic is heavy so if you are using a weak microphone stand it will fall, also it records much of the background noise as if it's a condenser microphone. And for you to make the audio to sound like the pros, you need to know more about vocal mixing.
For the record, I was using the Fifine AM8 and while it sounded good I didn't like it was too bulky. Also felt the RGB didn't look good on camera. I've switched to Fduce cuz it looks similar to the Shure microphone for $50. Both are USB/XLR. I do think Fifine sounds better on my phone but my viewers seem to like the Fduce sound better.
@@fredoverflow for a faceless audio only project, obviously not. But on camera then some. Might not even be for the viewer but the creator wants a certain look. I've seen lots of other channels spend extra money on a Shure microphone since it's the standard look even though other microphone sound as good for a fraction of the price. They even make sure the logo is visible. I don't have that I'm not spending $500 Canadian.
😇 I use the Rode Videomicro and I think that it is a fabulous mic. It adds just the right amount of warmth to the tone of our voices for a natural sound. It provides enough bottom end without getting muddy and enough high end to maintain the crispness without it getting tinny. I use it with a Zoom H1N recorder because our video cam doesn't have an external mic jack and then I just align the audio and video clips in DaVinci Resolve during editing. This works perfectly for us and it is a compact setup. I LOVE this microphone! 🎤 L128

Thank you so much! Think Media
Thanks for watching!
I have the Samsung Q2U, and I can concur! Solid quality! 👍

Glad it was helpful!
The audio technica 2100 x is on sale prime day for under $30
I'm using AT2100x at the office and sE v7 at home.
I use the Se V7 (absolutely love that mic) and just bought the AT2100x to use on the go when I don’t want to have to hook up my interface.
Believe it or not, the Behringer XM8500 is actually pretty good, and it's on sale right now for $13.80 at Sweetwater.
The XM8500 is a glitch in the matrix; no $15 mic should sound that good!
I did this research months ago and ended up with the Maono PD400x for $110 bucks and the Elgato boom arm. No regrets so far, best for the price.
Thanks for sharing!
Can I ask where you purchased the microphone? I can’t find one under $170 online
These r really good mics, but why don't u recommend some of the Chinese brands like Fifine or Maono they have amazing mics for less than a $100
It's a sponsored vid

I agree that FiFine Dynamic Mics rock!
@ThinkMediaTV I hate it when AI bot accounts join the fray.

Definitely needs some EQ! We think it performs best with the USB-C mode!
can you compare the samson q9u and maono pd400x?
Good video but the first 2 combo mics while they sound good I feel they don't look good on camera. Feels more like what a singer would use.

We agree.. they aren't the most beautiful mics in the world. But depending on what content you make, it might not matter at all.
@@ThinkMediaTV true. That's why on camera I wasn't a fan of them. But I think if you're only doing faceless things they sound great.
Does anybody really care about what a sound-capturing device _looks_ like?
@@fredoverflow for a faceless audio only project, obviously not. But on camera then some. Might not even be for the viewer but the creator wants a certain look.

Excellent video, T.M.
Which is lowest price and best noice cancelation mic
Probably the ATR2100X.... or getting a wireless mic kit like the HollyLand Lark M2
Hey think media 😊👋

Thanks for sharing! We love the video micro!
I'm using PreSonus Revelator Dynamic USB and I love it :)
Love it!
The MV7x sounds better than the SM7.
To each their own
I have a shure mv7, but the plosive is very annoying. if we say p, b, the sound is very explosive
how to solve it?
by the way I use translate
Stick another pop filter on it. Or speak to the side of it.
If you off center the mic just slightly from your mouth, that should help a lot!
Am I a rookie for using a USB Microphone?
No!! USB Mics are great and simplify the content creation workflow!
Not really, I love them
😊😊😊
