    BoomTouch is one of those things that you see on on TV - As Seen on TV!!! - and think "there's just no way this thing can be any good, right?" I mean, it's a $20 speaker that uses magnets to transmit sound from your phone to the speaker. No wires. No Bluetooth. Just magnetic magic.
    Well guess what. It sorta kinda works not too horribly! I know, right, that's not exactly a glowing endorsement. But have a listen. It's surprisingly good!

    I bought two for Christmas presents, then watched this review. I am not sad that I bought them, since they were only $15 each with a coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond. I do hope that they work with the cases that I have on the phones, but I could always just remove the case if necessary. Seems like a good, cheap gift. Thanks for your review.

    LOL! I had to go back and listen to this after the Android Central podcast. I see what Jerry was talking about, that's a really good video! Kind of reminds me of Lewis over at Unbox Therapy! Good stuff, keep it coming Phil!

    Hahaha thank for this, I just saw the commercial and had to check UA-cam. Found your channel and it works, like you said not great but it works👍 you funny😄

    This is a lot more helpful to me than the dumb commercial they show on TV. The commercial just has one repetitive melody that gives you no idea how good the speaker is. This video gives you some idea of the speaker's resolution.

      That's kinda what I'm saying, sort of.

    It would be good if it had the option to use Bluetooth so you can cat your phone with you, and the auxiliary plug-in just to have options. I'm guessing this is a cheaper way to go.

    It's just a mic that amplifies what it hears.

    Thanks for the review! I have 2 questions only......
    First: what is the music played in your phone?
    The other: does this device has a USB charging port or it only works with batteries?
    Thank you in advance! :-)

    I'm surprised how well this actually sounded. I'm not saying it sounded like it will replace my Bluetooth Harman/Kardon but seems like a nice little take with you speaker for random get togethers that you dont want to drag a big boy out for.

    I listened to a few reviews but yours was more helpful. I am a bit of an audiophile and sound quality means a lot to me. This will not do. Thank you for helping me head off a lot of fruitless bother.

    I had *totally* forgotten about Near Field Audio (which is what I think this is using). Used it back in 2012 and apparently dug it hard: pocketnow.com/2012/11/01/near-field-audio-is-awesome

      I suppose Samsung could use the MST (magnetic safe transfer) tech to better induce sound in one of this systems ;)
      And... could a phone simulate the MST using the speaker coil and placing the speaker very close to the card reader?...

    I keep wanted people to hold it up to their face and speak into it and test if its actually just a sound booster.
    Either way, it seems to just be a paper weight to me. Thank you for making this video. :)

    And it doesn't feel like there is an echo? The phone keeps playing so you are earning two tracks after all.
    Also, does it work if you put a bluetooth speaker on top of it?
    And what if you put a Boomtouch on top of a Boomtouch?
    So many questions!

    i would not trust it because of the magnets inside the speaker would ruin the phone screen in time because what happens when you stick a magnet close to a tv screen?? it fucks it up it would be the same effect for the phone screen.

    • @Moderndad
      @Moderndad  7 років тому +2

      You could, uh, take it off the speaker when you're not using it.

    • @NoFNclue
      @NoFNclue 7 років тому +3

      magnets effect "old" tv screens because they use a magnetic field to guide the photons of light from the gun at the back (cathode ray tube), modern lcd screens are not affected by magnets in this way..... science bitches....

    I would worry about shortening the life of my phone by having it sitting on a source of vibration that it was not designed for. Is plugging it into a speaker really that difficult or time-consuming that this is needed?

  • @WalterPavlikII
