We had another good discussion this episode! Still not 100% sure if there isn't just ONE more twist left in eren...
We'll have to wait and see!
That moment when you realize the OST that was playing when Eren watched his mom died spoiled the entire show… but no one noticed because it was sung in German.
ua-cam.com/video/M2LdF1RlSL0/v-deo.html (skip to 4:45 this was the melody that was playing the exact moment Eren’s mom became a victim.)

Did you guys dropped Demon slayer. The new season about to end.can anyone confirm me
Your reaction is so fake it hurts
@@animetv947 we'll probably watch it soon, just not as hyped on it as everyone else is
Zeke: "You were brainwashed by our father"
Grisha: "Actually, Eren brainwashed me"
Eren: "It was more of a 'suggestion ' 😬"
the summary 😭
Eren basically kept his father on a straight path, preventing his conscience from diverging from it.
@@subarusama5673 and all the previous inheritors of the attack titan. Like owl
One of the best things about this episode to me is the way it presented the Nature Vs Nurture arguement. Zeke is a product of his environment and his current ideals were shaped by what he experienced in the past. He believed that Eren was also a product of his environment; a pathetic little brother who was raised by a man who once again pushed his ideals down on his son but that wasn't the case. Grisha didn't treat Eren the same way he did with Zeke. He actually learned from his mistakes. His dad didn't make Eren the person that he is now. It's in his nature. This was evident from the moment he killed those 3 kidnappers back in Season 1 without a hint of hesitation. The world didn't make Eren the way he is now. From the very moment he was born, Eren has always been this way.
You just copy pasting this everywhere bro or what?
Hard to say because if eren hadn't been born within paradis would he still have that killer mentality and wanting to be free? How are you so sure eren is who he is portraying himself to be to us, the audience? Personally to me he doesn't even look like he understood why he did every himself. When zeke asks him why he still betrayed him he said since he was born he was always like this but to be honest in my eyes he doesn't look free. He is always answering it like somebody else is in control of him. I'm not saying somebody is in control of him, but that perhaps in this crazy world that hajime isayama has created, there is a higher power. Perhaps it isn't god, but somebody else. Its a daunting task to say attack on titan is "this" or "that".
@@itsmesteve1081 i means who's to say he won't have the same amount of animosity just related to a different purpose like freeing the people from the walls in Marley or if hes like not even eldian just fucking catching thieves( if he turns out as a cop)😂
@@itsmesteve1081 Attack on Titan school caste is an official highschool Au that kinda confirms that this is Erens nature
@@itsmesteve1081 Ofc you're right that he's not truly free, that's why he fights for his freedom. But this fight is hopeless.
Eren whispered in Isayama's ear and told him to write this story
On a serious note, it's really scary how Grisha, someone who was so anti-Marley and pro-Eldia, saw one glimpse of Eren's plan and was like, "Zeke. You have to stop him." Despite Grisha's hate for Marley and how far he was willing to go, even HE thought his plan was too far. He was genuinely horrified. Whatever Eren's plan is, Grisha does not want it to happen.
Speaking of, Zeke and Grisha finally getting to work out their issues and hug each other in a moment of pure love is really heartwarming. Grisha understood his mistakes when raising Zeke before. Instead of only treating him as a tool, he treats him as his son. Zeke is finally able to take his first step towards closure after years of trauma. Even if they had their differences, Grisha and Zeke can at least agree with one thing: Stopping Eren.
One thing I don't understand is why did grisha (after telling zeke to stop eren) then go and give the founding and attack power to young eren
Because it's was all set in stone from the very beginning
Grisha saw that Eren is not going to stop at the destruction of Marely which Grisha really hated. He saw far more destruction and many nations dead which is why he asked Zeke to stop him.
@@Pinky_Piie but he could have defied it. Like how he dropped his knife in protest, eren had to manipulate him to get up. If he protested to not give eren the founding (after he told zeke to stop eren) would future eren have needed to intervene with that too?
@@o_noori1943 I think after he eventually found out Carla was killed he was so angry and upset that he just gave up and gave eren the power
Eren sees his own future within Grisha's memories, but Grisha only see the memories that is hand-picked and sent to him by future Eren. In other words, Eren manipulated his past-self and everything, to achieve his goal.
I was kinda hopeing he would give grisha all his memories so grisha no longer knows if he is Eren or Grisha efectively making him Eren so Instead of eren telling Grisha what to do he literally is Grisha.
he would recognize eren's voice though
but how tho?
I dont think so. If Eren would want to manipulate his dad, he wouldn't choose the rumbling memory to show to his dad.
@@cardona9448 Titan shifters can see past memories of the last inheritor, so Eren saw Grisha's memories in S3 P2. The Attack Titan can literally pick and send memories of choice and send them to past inheritors so these past inheritors will know something from the future that will help them (any information is relevant for Atack Titant's inheritor since they work alone) just like Eren Kruger knew Armin and Mikasa and told Grisha the exact same line he told Eren. Since Eren saw Grisha's memories of that exact moment, he knew what Grisha saw and listened so he listened himself in the future being the one who made Grisha steal the Founding Titan.
Summary: *FUTURE EREN* (not this one) send memories (from what THIS EREN was doing RIGHT HERE) so Grisha was able to see IN A THIRD PERSION VIEW this exact same scenary. Since these are Eren's memories, whatever Eren says/sees Grisha will also do it. And because Grisha can actually see/listen THIS EREN, PAST EREN was able to know all this the moment he kissed Historia's hand. So he knew what he had to do in this precise moment.

MVP of every episode he's in
If anyone didn't understand, I'll try to explain in the simplest way possible :-
The crazy part is Grisha isn't looking at or hugging or listening to anyone in real life, he just knows Zeke and Eren's positions and what they were saying since Grisha can see through Eren's memories and can tell where they were standing/what they were doing/what they were saying when they were looking through Grisha's memories here in this episode. It's genius.
True, he isn't actually 'seeing' them. Only recalling how they looked from Eren's perspective. So in reality, Grisha is seeing Zeke from the third person.
No shit
Grisha's voice actor is amazing he nailed it I got chills just like when I first read the manga 🥶
MVP of the episode
So in order to avoid any confusion regarding the time travel mechanics, I will break down what type of Time travel we're dealing with here.
AOT operates by a particular type of time travel where it's almost impossible to change the past even if you somehow go back in time. And any change that you tried to cause was always meant to happen in the overall timeline. Here time is a fixed circle, not a stream. We may see Eren meddle in the past but that was always meant to happen. This calls into the question of the existence of free will in the world of Attack of Titan.
The Attack Titan's ability is to receive the memories of its future inheritors. This was hinted when Kruger mentioned Mikasa and Armin towards the end of S3. Keep in mind, they can only view these memories but can't interact with them. So how was Eren able to meddle in the past?
Well, he had 3 perfect conditions:
1) He had the ability of the Attack Titan
2) The ability of the Founding Titan
3) He was also in contact with someone with royal blood AKA Zeke.
After Zeke tapped Eren's head, they were able to view Grisha's past memories with Eren using the power of the coordinate. They were freely able to view the past as if it were through a one way mirror.
Now if Eren had any other Titan other than the Attack Titan, he would only be able to look. But since Attack Titan can see forward in time, Grisha can use this to see Eren's recollection of the same event that he's currently experiencing in real time.
So this mean that whenever Grisha can see or hear Eren, he's actually recieving a brief future memory from Eren's POV where he can see out of his eyes and hear his words. That means he is seeing himself from a 3rd perspective. Then if he responds, his response is simply part of the memory that Eren/Zeke are viewing, allowing for a two way communication through time.
Edit: I am not responsible for this explanation. I saw it on a forum a while back.

By the way, in the manga during the scene where Grisha is talking to Eren with the basement's key in his hand, he is looking towards the doorstep, as he is now looking at adult Eren. Just one of many elements in the first chapter that Isayama managed to use well later on
i realized that he’s looking directly at adult Eren crazy
But it's not available in the show I guess coz I checked it just??
@@malayjoshi1098 Yeah, they missed to adapt it, they don't show his face when he dangles the key in front of Eren in the anime. To be fair, it's a very small detail and Isayama probably didn't know exactly how to use it so I'm pretty sure that he didn't point it out to them

- The way Eren accessed future memories is different from how Grisha received it, he got it directly through Eren. Future Eren sent some memories to Grisha, when young Eren kissed Historia's hand in that medal ceremony, he was able to access those memories in Grisha.
- Founding titan and attack titan are connected to same person and Paths transcends time and space, that's why Eren was able to show Grisha the memories of the future, because of this reason, ability to see future memories became intrinsic to Attack Titan.
-This implies that Eren is the reason why Attack Titan moves forward to pursue freedom and doesn't obey others. Just as Kruger said in S3 E21 "No matter what era, this titan has always moved forward to pursue freedom" and Grisha also mentioned in this episode that they have all been led to this moment so that inheritor of attack titan opposes the self righteousness of the King. So Eren's will passed from successor to predecessor which is literally opposite to King's will "to renounce war" that passes from predecessor to successor.
- Another thing to notice here in this episode is, Grisha was never able to see Eren directly, He was able to see Zeke through Eren's eyes, it's like having an extra set of your own eyes staring behind you.
-When Grisha said, "It'll go Eren's way", From Grisha's perspective, that was the time when Shiganshina got breached in S1E1, which means it was all going Eren's way since the very start of the series.
-Even though Grisha told Zeke to stop Eren but he still fed himself to young Eren, after this event of him apologizing to Zeke, he went into survivor camp (S3E11) and learned that Carla has been killed and this enraged him again to burn the world like how it happened when he learnt about his sister the first mind. He went with Eren's plan
When grisha said “it’ll go eren’s way” - we don’t find out till later in the season what this actually means and how it even relates to the first episode lol.
It’s so beautiful. Erens inevitable whole self made villain comes full circle.
A little fact that you might enjoy carlson is that the moment in the episode where geisha is looping directly at eren if you go back and look at the FIRST CHAPTER of attack on titan you will that it was the same !! IT WAS ALL THERE FROM DAY ONE !!

just some clarification: all titan shifters can see the memories of the pervious owner of the titan power but not the future ones, the attack titan can see the memories of both the past and future owners of the power!
The cool thing about the scene with Grisha telling Eren that he'll let him in the basement and shows him the key is that if you go back to episode 1 (or chapter 1 in the manga) you don't actually see Grisha look at young Eren while he is talking to him. It was planned all along.
It probably wasn't. Isayama was just able to retroactively use vague character positioning well
In the anime it doesn't actually show his face so thats debatable. In the manga thats no question. He was looking that way.
@@AllTheArtsy what about Kruger talking about Mikasa and Armin? This has been planned ages ago.
Holy shit you're right.
in the anime he dint show grisha looking to 'Big' Eren
The attack titan never obeyed orders from anyone, while the founding titan stayed inside the walls the attack titan remained in marley but never fell i marleys hands, all because of its special power to SEE THE MEMORIES OF FUTURE INHERITORS.
all titan shifters can see the memories of past inheritors but only the attack tittan can see the memories of its future inheritors. This means that eren was able to see his future throgh GRISHAS MEMORIES, its a time loop. adult eren sent his current memories to grisha which showed grisha the future but TEEN EREN saw his adult memories through seing grishas memories. this is also why grisha can see eren and zeke cause eren is showing grisha the memorie of them seing his memories which allows grisha to see them in real time.
well explained, thanks
Curious as to why the titan was named as Attack Titan. In-universe, I could only assume it was named for usually being defiant or aggressive, since its special characteristic isn't otherwise known. But even then I feel like something better could have been thought up by the characters. Alternatively, it could be a translation thing since as 'Advancing' Titan sounds more fitting in regards to accessing the future. Either way, I'd hope to get some history on the many previous attack titans and what their purposes were.
@@vindifference
"Advance" is actually the most accurate (or just most common) translation of shingeki
@@vindifference in order to keep moving forward (advance) you have to fight, hence the attack titan or attacking titan the one who advances.
you put that in perfect way
Eren manipulated every attack Titan in history, so Grisha can get the attack Titan to steal the founding titan, and give it to kid Eren. He made Grisha manipulate kid Eren so that the future Eren can attain his goals.(the basement, the key, the information about life outside the walls)
wait when did eren manupulate every attack titan ...he only manupulated grisha right?
You miss, Eren is a eldian not a god or a universe force. He only manipulate the history of his life, and for irony this have consequences on the world reality. If you think cold enough is because of his nature of live , he is born like the world he lived
@@bhuvanp5997 he also manipulated eren kruger the attack titan before grisha. Kruger when passing the attack titan to grisha says go inside walls to save armin and mikasa when neither of them knew armin and mikasa
@@Banbanban165 That was just Kruger glimpsing the memory of Grisha telling that phrase to Eren (Also, isn't like influence that moment would be of any use, plus Grisha would forget it). Eren only manipulated Grisha to take the founding, and could do it because of the travel trough his memories.
@@Banbanban165 Kruger knew about Mikasa and Armin from Grisha’s memories. Not Eren’s. But he also didn’t know the memories belonged to Grisha.
Grisha said something similar to Eren, right before he injected him and turned him into a pure Titan. That he must protect them, and so that’s how Kruger knew about them.
The OST this episode has got to be the best of all the MAPPA-directed episodes so far, and can I wax lyrical about how godly Grisha's VA is? Every time Grisha is featured in an episode his VA steals the show.
What in the sub? What the fuck, no?
Boldcast, That right there, ladies and gentlemen.. is the epitome of storytelling. Unrivaled writing by Eren himself. In a nutshell, Eren told Isayama to write Attack on Titan.
*Grisha:* "I could never kill children"
*Eren:* "Tatake"Tatake..Tatake..
I love the last words of the full version of the Ending song:
"I’ve realized that growing inside of me is a child of evil. Behind my righteousness, surrounded by sacrifice, in my heart is a child of evil..."
Guys, go watch the bystander episode from s3 part 1 especially Shadis’s memory of the day shiganshina fell. Grisha, after killing the reiss, “influenced” by adult Eren, went to search for kid Eren after this & passed on the power knowing Carla died. (As shown here, he didn’t know about it as Adult Eren didn’t show him that memory).
The whole thing is basically recontextualised again.
"I've always been myself" the foreshadowing of the ending. Keep that in mind the whole show. Remember what Eren says if your goal is to understand Eren's doing and behaviour.
After watching aot season 1-3, I already understand him. And when eren kruger explained everything to grisha and he mentioned mikasa and armin, I already know what is about to happen, that is why I still support eren on his plan. After reading the manga, I never regret choosing erens side
To me he is super inconsistent there. Obviously I’m not gonna talk about that here but we can come back after the anime only’s have seen it and talk through it. I’ve had some really fun talks with people that enjoyed the ending trying to find common ground so hopefully I’ll see some of u guys then.
If not no worries obviously everyone interprets art differently and I’m always so happy to see someone who enjoyed something I didn’t. Would rather find a million people that enjoyed something and disagreed with me over the alternative.
@@gavrielmallari6718 You sound super understanding. I admire you for that. Majority hate the ed because of eren's line in ch139. Eren isn't exactly heartless here
You see he had that depressed and sad expression when he looked at mikasa, also his sad expression in the aftermath of reiss massacre. He definitely felt a lot of remorse
I can’t believe how easy this show can have me turning on characters. Last week I hated Zeke now I’m hoping he succeeds. Wtf. This episode was really on Endgame levels of good with the timetravel
Yes, but also realize this isn't time travel... time doesn't exist in The Paths, time is a human construct that doesn't exist. Eren was manipulating Grisha's memories, Grisha was seeing/hearing everything through Eren's POV and therefore being manipulated to do what Eren wanted him to do. Same with Krueger, when he mentions Mikasa and Armin right before he turns Grisha into a titan... how would Krueger know those names, if not Eren manipulating his memories.
Time travel doesn't exist in Aot.
@Otaku San of course it does, eren send information from future to past, that's time travel,if eren didnt manipulate grisha he wouldnt have founding titan,so thats a time loop,i fucking hate this,so before some smartass will tell me how it works,i will say that i know how it works, but you and show couldnt answer simple question:why it works?if there can be single originless object, information or person that exists, why there are not millions of originless things?if bootstrap paradox was true, the world just would crumble and destroy itself.there cant be originless thing in real world or fictional, because world would simply destroy itself, why there is only one loop in aot?simple plot device that was not necessary.this episode never happend in my mind, grisha simply choose to kill rod reiss family period
@Otaku San oh and also this happened before grisha gave attack and founding titan yo eren,so why the fuck would grisha tell zeke to stop eren if he could do that,he simply should not given eren titans, how fucking hard is that?this was so fucking unnecessary its unbelievable

I think this is one of the best discussions after show i have watched on yt. You guys told everything I couldn't put into words, and thank you for that
Eren is pulling one of the best plot twits in anime history right here! Zeke may have outsmarted Eren's outsmarting, but Eren outsmarted Zeke's outsmarting to Eren's outsmarting!!!!!!
From 1st eps, "to you, 2000 year in the future", to "from you, 2000 year ago"
The most surprising thing about this Plot Twist is that the clues were there, and they weren't subtle clues, they were very direct.
Zeke at the beginning: I will change your mind, Eren.
At the end...
It's really amazing how the Attack Titan's special power was never explained fully, until these chapters with Eren, Zeke and Grisha. And that's where we realise that Eren had the perfect conditions to be able to control everything they way he did.
1) He had the Attack Titan's powers
2) He had the Founding Titan's powers
3) He was able to make contact with a Titan (Shifter) of royal blood
Without 1 of these conditions, none of it would have been possible. The concept of time as fixed is also interesting, because it sidesteps all the "fix the timeline" issues, because here, time and action and consequences are hard coded. They can't be changed.
Eren, from the future, manipulated Eren Kruger and Grisha into passing on and receiving the Attack Titan and spurred Grisha on to steal the Founding Titan and give it to young Eren, but only because Eren already got the combined Attack and Founding powers in the present.
It gets kind of trippy and weird, but that's the cosmic grand idea of this story. One man's quest for freedom essentially enslaved the mind of his own father and allowed him to kick start the end of times.
That whole sentence where Eren calls Grisha shitty was his inner Levi. Bruh.
Eren did a good deed in this episode.
What I really liked in this episode, was that despite the fact that Eren here was shown being full of anger, dedicated to a singular purpose, almost a full-blown villain in this episode, there was a silver lining to his actions within the memories of his father. As mentioned by Grisha: Eren did not shown him everything, he selectively shown him the memories he needed to see. For sure, most of those memories were the ones that he needed to convince Grisha to take the Founder Titan from the royal family. Still - he then made it so that Grisha (through Eren's own eyes) was able to see Zeke and ask for his forgiveness.
Eren had no need to do this, he could've cut those part of the memories from Grisha, or break the connection from Zeke before this happened. Yet - he still chose to make it possible for these two to (in a way) interact. He even specifically stood behind Grisha, so that he (through Eren's eyes) could see Zeke within the memory. This act is actually a benevolent act that allows to sooth the pain of both Grisha and Zeke (at least a little bit). Yes, it is too late, but even this small grace means a lot for the two tortured souls. Grisha is able to ask for forgiveness and tell Zeke that he loves him, before going to die in the mouth of Eren's titan. Zeke is able to get a moment of tenderness from his father - the one he craved his entire life.
I have waited so long for this to be adapted. One of my favorite chapters from the series.
The Founding Titan can only look at Past memories
Yes guys only the attack titan can see the future that's how at the end of season 3 Kruger tells Eren to save everyone through Grisha, easily the most broken power of all the nine titans with that Eren can't lose and can't be manipulated in any way.
And having the founding DOES NOT let you see the memories of all eldians that's were your confusion comes from, the founding titan can control the eldians and just that CONTROL, the only memories the founding titan can see will be the previous founding titans only that's why nobody knew the power of the attack titan because that's the whole purpose of the attack titan to not be dominated nor bound to anybody.
Just wanted to point out that the attack titan isn't actually so broken. His future memories, as all titan memories, are just little fragments and the way are triggered is pretty random, so it can lose.
@@avgx28 Yeah i know but still that's an OP ability
So basically, Grisha throughout his time of being the attack titan, would receive memories from the future eren, so for a long time he knew that his son would be the next attack titan, which is why he gave it to eren after inheriting the founding titan. However, Eren only ever gave him tidbits of memories from the future, never the full picture. Thats why hes so confused over why Eren wouldnt show him memories of when the wall would get destroyed, and whether or not carla was safe. Even when he sees zeke, he doesnt actually see him with his own eyes, he sees him through Eren's eyes. Its also probably like a 4th wall break for grisha everytime he sees through eren's eyes, since he can see himself in the scene too. If you pay attention, anytime grisha sees zeke, eren is positioned behind grisha, giving him an out-of-body third person view. Eren did not change the past by talking to his father, that was the reality of what actually happened. Grisha heard Eren's voice from the future telling him why he was here and what he had to do, and now we get to see how that came to be. I think by this point its worth mentioning that AoT takes place in a predetermined universe, given that the attack titan can see the future. Everything that happens happens for a reason, and was supposed to happen. This means eren's "freedom" is non-existent, as hes only the final gear in a series of many gears turning
I watched a lot of AOT reaction videos but hands down your commantairy and analyse was great to listen to , as manga reader i want to give all the answers but i will say that you r in for treat . Great video keep it up
18:12 it said Kruger, and he had Attack Titan, he saw memories of Eren. Situation with Eren is based in one theory. In anime they cut some stuff, but in first chapter of manga before waiking up Eren sees more old Mikasa that says to him: "We will meet again soon". He asks Mikasa after waiking up: "when did her hair grew so long"(now Mikasa has short hair), and Mikasa sees tears on Eren's eyes and the only thing he remembers is him seeing some really long dream.
Quick point on the use of the term "nationalism" :
In Japanese the term is 民族主義, literally "(race/nation/people) + (tribe/family) + (master/principal/main) + (justice/morality/meaning)". Obviously there are a lot of terms mixed in there, and the English word does not really have that broad of a meaning. Importantly, the Japanese word includes both economic/legal nationalism as well as ethno-nationalism which in English are separate terms. The reason for this is that Japan's national identity still largely includes the idea of being ethnically Japanese, so inherently the "nation" of Japan is the same thing to them as the "race" or Japan. It's where a lot of Japanese xenophobia comes from, particularly to Chinese and Korean residents who have grown up in Japan but still are ethnically not Japanese. In English, namely through American influences, the idea of a "nation" refers to a legal framework that disregards ethnic background. America was the first nation built on this concept that people of different races could be members of one nation and that their binding ties would be based on shared values within a legal system rather than by sharing the same genes. Because of this, "nationalism" in English means "preferring one's own country and national values to be the organizing principle of your communities, regardless of race" whereas "ethno-nationalism" means "preferring one's own race and sense of ethnic heritage to be the organizing principle of your communities." Japanese needs no distinction because their country is almost 2,000 years old, so their national identity has been traced back to those days when genes and ancestors were the binding ties of all communities and they've kept that tradition today. They could afford to, of course, because their population has also remained about 98% homogenous as well.
Obviously from context Zeke is referring to ethno-nationalism because this entire conflict is based on a race war and Grisha is fighting for the freedom of his own race. So the correct translation to be used here should have been "ethno-nationalism."
I vividly remember the time when I read this part in the manga. I immediately went to re-read the early chapters and checked all of the panels that were referenced here. This experience was mind-blowing. Most likely Isayama did not plan this far ahead initially, but he surely did utilize the earlier chapters later on (retrospectively) to the maximum.
I know this wasn't an action episode but you cannot dismiss Grisha VA going into hysterics. That was so beautifully animated.
always excited to hear your guys discussion after the episode😬
"you must have been waiting for someone" one of my favorite lines in the entire Manga cant wait for it next week
Spoiler tag please.
Just finished watching this episode. Absolutely loved it! Every episode is so interesting, it feels like it only lasts 5 minutes. I can’t wait till next week!
Founding Titan - Ruled by its predecessor
Attack Titan - Ruled by its Successor
The funny thing is when I watched the events of 2020 and promised 2022 to see the reaction of anime followers and shocked like them 🤯
I love two people who don't miss even the smallest things!
If u are saying how grisha saw eren and zeek then we know attack Titan can see past and future shifters memeories so what grisha saw was eren memeories watching grisha that's why he knew exactly where zeek and eren was and what they were seeing just like eren and zeek watching grisha past u get it it's basically .seeing someone one past and someone saw already their past and yours too that's why grisha knew through eren memeories
Greatest of all time. Zenith of the medium. Hallmark of media. Gold standard of storytelling. Apogee of creativity. Vertex of invention. Crest of ingenuity. Acme of imagination. Pinnacle of innovation. Epic of epics. Legend among legends. Peak fiction.
this thing has LAYERS upon LAYERS of recontextualization
And the thing is ,it all feels natural 😂
Only reactors which I have watched today who are even close to understanding eren.
Keep up the good work. Loved your reaction!!
“Rod, Shut the fuck up “ XDDD finally someone said it
All of what happened his episode except for the last few seconds all happened just like this in the past, but Grisha could see what grown up Eren saw because as grown up Eren saw things he implanted those memories like Zeke being there(and some memories of the future) into Grisha's head
Its is like a time paradox. U missed the point where grisha said he look through future of eren and said to zeke " from here on eren will make the decision"
Fun fact: you are binging reactors rn
🤣🤣🤣🤣exactly
@@lucienolongerhuman8298 ?🤣🤔
Eren whispered in isayama ears and told him to write this story... and use this to manipulate all of us.... damn eren
You know the story is great when somehow an episode that is all dialogue is just as good and actually even better than the episodes filled with action.
Episodes with dialogue and not action are almost every time better, even in action shows., that’s common
Crazy episode, it make my mind blowing away to nowhere 😭🤣
The fisrt part of this episode is very similar to the Christmas tale where we see an angel talking to a grumpy CEO of a company in his sleep and travel in several places in the city with to show the repercussions he made to his employees by refusing to their given a day off or paid for it at Christmas
Isayama is really inspired of thatalking
Fantastic reaction. You picked up on everything. Very smart.
Literally watched the anime only to see this episode animated! What a great plot twist, I have chills!
I remember reading this chapter back then. after reading this i looked up my ceiling and had to go out for a walk thinking every major points in the story up until this point.
Then re-reading the entire story again before another chapter drops again the next month.
Ah. the good old days.
Its really the past. Cool thing though is that every scene grisha talks to zeke, eren is watching both of them from afar. So grishas seeing himself and zeke and knows zeke is there based on the memories. Trippy stuff
This episode has its traces in Season 1, for example in episode 2 someone who appears like adult Eren can be seen in the hallway.
YES!! i always thought it was a coincidence that he looked like a grown version of Eren when it was actually him from the future looking through the memories. Unbelievable
Bro where tell me in which scene of s01e02??
Is it when Mikasa smacks eren because he is not eating food and calling Armin weak......I can see a guy in long coat in the background hell yeah😮😮
As soon as Eren touched historias hand he saw everything that was going to happen. That's why his attitude and personality changed
Go Eren, my Zetsu!
Eren the villain confirmed. I was always confused when I watched S3 reactions to why Grisha would pass his titan powers to Eren since he seemed like a good parent in Paradis.
You can think of the Attack Titan like Remote Desktop on your PC. Grisha, and pretty much every Attack Titan shifter has been able to connect to Eren's "PC" and see what he sees when he finally reaches the Paths.
All this stuff with memories and past-future can be very clearly explained by Season 5 of LOST. When main characters got in the past, they were trying to fix everything so that crash of their flight don't happen but actually all their actions started chain of events for the plane crash to happen. It's called Novikov self-consistency principle.
I waited for one year for this chapter to be animated lets goooooo
In a sense, Zeke finaly knows true love from his father, which is happy
Before it was: "Sit down, Reiner", now it is "Get up, father"
zeke; eren, grisha has been brainwashing you since childhood..
Eren: well..actually about that..😅
Just when we thought last week´s revelations were the pinnacle, we get this!!!! Who do we root for!!!???
15:14 the eren that appears here, its the one who is kissing historia hand right and he made that shocked face
was this the moment where eren learned everything.....
I was literally having chills the entire time when I was watching this
I was waiting for this chapter to be animated for soo long
Eren is the real villain
attack titan ability is to see the memories of the future holders, as other titans it gets more powerful when its in the hands of royal blood -like zekes beast can turn others into titans-when the attack titan is with royal blood it can contact the past users aswell as see the future users
basically, every titan has the ability to see past memories of other inheritors, however, the attack titan is special because it can see the memories of people who inherit it in the future. it is not exactly like seeing the future but you can piece together what will happen in the future.
Also the causality loop thing you mentioned is right and the correct term for this is Retrocausality
Remember when Armin in season one said something like "the walls could fall at any moment" or some shit and then the very next moment the colosal breaks the wall. I thought that was him seeing bertholt's memories of the future.
If you told me Christopher Nolan wrote this episode I’d believe you
she is on point just listen to her, we never see anyone but the Shingeky no kyojin had a future memory experience, i hate when people shut others and do not listen
i like that they use a rumbling sound to express erens rage
Eren is sending his select memories to Grisha. So all those times where Grisha's acting weird, it cause he's seeing memories of that exact moment from Eren's first-person perspective. To make it more clear, he sees a close up of his face while hearing Eren's voice convincing him to eat the Founding Titan and he sees himself hug Zeke.
Zeke at the beginning: Eren, I will save you.
Zeke at the end: Oh shit, I better save myself..
Eren: I am not in danger, Zeke. I AM the danger.
What's interesting is, that the conversation Eren had with Reiner is that he doesn't blame the other side for fighting for their own freedom at the cost of those in the walls. He doesn't hate them anymore, but he will not regret doing the same to them
"A" posing eren sure is intimidating
Attack titan shifter can see its future inheritors memories,
So Grisha saw present zeke through Erens present memories/POV,
Its like watching a liveshow lol
That was literally me after the 3 episode
So we will have to wait next week to see the rumbling rumbling
It has the power to affect the future because when grisha got the attack titan the owl said for mikasa, armin, and eren.
It's really weird listening to Grisha's speech to Eren before he turned Eren into a titan with the knowledge that he told Zeke to stop Eren a few hours ago.
Grisha isn't actually able to see future Eren but he can sense where he is based on eren's memories. That's how he knew zeke was there. Eren looked at a picture of younger zeke which caused grisha to recieve that memory, and then when Eren glanced up at older zeke grisha was able to see he was there based on eren's memories
Y'all think is this Japanese guy, Isayama, writing this story, nope. It's been Eren all along.🤣
