I've always admired a Flxible Clipper's,unfortunately I've never been able to see one in person until the day I walked into the back of Phoenix Conversions in Knoxville Tennessee and there it was a real Flxible Clipper this exact one.. I was absolutely surprised and what a treat it was.. Incredible craftsmanship and a total masterpiece.. Just beautiful!
The only Flxible I ever got to ride in or operate was a 1959 Hi-Level. To this day, the best riding motorcoach I ever operated or rode in. Thanks for the video!
I come back occasionally to watch this video and admire such a beautiful work of art. Luckily I was gifted with a special treat of seeing this exact Flexible Clipper getting some custom work done at Phoenix conversions in Knoxville, Tennessee when I was down there doing business. When I seen it in the back it just stood out like a shiny piece of new metal in an old tool shed. It was just immaculate and so beautiful. The colors, the paint work and a design inside and out is just picture perfect. I was like a kid in a candy store. I have been inspired to finally purchase and own my very own vintage bus. A very rare one as well. I purchased a 1971 highway products Clark Cortez Twin Coach. Excited to finally begin work in restoring my own dream. Going back to visit videos like this inspires me more to finish the project. I think this would be something cool to feature on Jay Leno's garage. I'm sure Jay will enjoy and appreciate this beautiful Flexible Clipper as well as his viewers. Thanks for sharing this wonderful masterpiece!
What a lovely bus. I grew up near where they were built, so I saw many of them in my youth , which just happens to have been around the time frame you mentioned. That rear end is memorable and never duplicated.
This brings back a lot of memories! This coach was hand built by dedicated workers at the Flxible Plant in Loudonville, OH. I was a design engineer with Flxible in the i970's, but I remember the pride an enthusiasm that gripped the people who worked there!!
Wow what a beautiful coach. If we go back to anything it would be the way we use to make buses. Beautiful work. This the only thing that make me wish I had money.
As a 20 tear employee of Flxible, coming in after the over the road coaches I still was able to obtain many pictures and many were built to be motor homes or prison buses. A number were sold to movie stars and base ball teams. thanks for the tour.
Was about to make the same commas the guy before me. Would add that I’ve watched hundreds of bus conversions videos and this is not a presentation but a swift walk around.
When I taught the Jr. High Band in Elizabeth City NC, the HS band has 4 of these for football games, band trips, etc. They were a beauty to look at, and even more fun to drive. Of course they weren't spec-ed out "RV style", but were true passenger buses. Thanks for the video - brought back fond memories.
Back in the day, Continental Air Transport operated a fleet of these beauties in Chicago - serving O'Hare and Midway airports and downtown. Their distinctive styling would always catch this kids eye in admiration.
Seeing this, reminds me of what shit they make today. What character those old buses have. Motorhomes today fall apart over a short period of time and will never be around 60 years from now.
My dream motorhome. I have great memories of Acadian Lines in Nova Scotia Canada operating the Flexible bus. It would stop at the Stewiacke NS signpost half way between the Equator & The North Pole for picture taking. Those were the days.
I grew up in one of these buses. My dad bought a 1958 model in 1970. I was under the impression that 58 model was the only year with the skylight windows. We went from this to a 1954 Senic Cruiser and then a 1956 Cruiser. When my dad died, I had his last 2 buses. A 1970 MC 7 and a 1965 Innercity bus, a 4502 model. Been driving trucks for 22 yrs now but I still love my buses.
Lovely looking Flexible Starliner bus. I regret that I've not seen one in person, but I've seen pics of them, and I find them beautiful! Way better looking than today's buses. :)
I'm from NYC and I remember the flexible starlings of the bus company called CARRY BUS LINES They operated between NYC east side terminal on first Ave Manhattan NY to Idlewild air port& Newark airport also
From 1968 to 1970 I was a driver for Continental Air Transport in Chicago. We ran scheduled trips from Chicago's two airports to downtown and some suburbs. The fleet of 150 busses was all Flxible.
I would have to disagree it is hideous they ruined it, it makes me sad to see how they ruined it, old vehicles are not meant to be restored like that they are far more beautiful to be left how they are, just be made functional and nothing else
Andy, I drove a Flxible bus for the tour company at the Grand Canyon in 1963, and it was a blast to drive. We had mostly gas, but one was diesel, which was loud with no real insulation between coach seating and engine! Enjoyed.
And I thought my 89 Fleetwood Limited restoration/ upgrade was labor intensive. Beautiful attentoon to detail. I upgraded to a 400 hp Cummins and Allison transmission too!
You are absolutely correct! If it was restored, it would be in it's passenger bus configuration. It's been converted to motorhome usage. Thank You for the clarification. Yes, facts = good!
Thank You Sir !! I Drove Buses In The 60 s Texas Bus Lines , KeerviLLe Bus Co And Gray Line TuresAnd For An Indepenent Co Some Re Ferbised Continental Buses .
Love the shape/lines of these old buses.
Deserve to be preserved with a new life.

A pure work of art

I LOVE the lines on these old busses, beautiful.

Wow what a beautiful coach. If we go back to anything it would be the way we use to make buses. Beautiful work. This the only thing that make me wish I had money.
Beautiful bus, inside and out. Great colour scheme and the door opening handle is a work of art!
Absolutely stunning! What a beautiful vehicle.
That's so beautiful..I could see myself loving in it..thank you showing it..I can't wait to see more..Elizabeth

Awesome, I love all of the Flxible's.

Fantastic conversion, thanks for your Still Video, it looks very professional and so much enjoyable. So cool Music.

So beautiful, beautiful bus. rear part is retrofuturistic. just fantastic bus
Seeing this, reminds me of what shit they make today. What character those old buses have. Motorhomes today fall apart over a short period of time and will never be around 60 years from now.
This bus is great inside, but the most beautiful one I have ever seen on the outside!
My dream motorhome. I have great memories of Acadian Lines in Nova Scotia Canada operating the Flexible bus. It would stop at the Stewiacke NS signpost half way between the Equator & The North Pole for picture taking. Those were the days.
hey - this bus is fantastic !!! if i had the coin i would certainly buy it.. thanks, andy
Very beautiful bus; I like, really marvelous!
I am a 1957 model, great year, the rear of this coach reminds me of a sci fi movie, I drove coaches from from the 80s, nothing cool like this👍👍👍
I always liked the Flxibles. When it comes to vintage RVs, you cannot go wrong with a Flixible, GMC or Airstream 310/345/350.
She does have lovely lines especially at the back!
It's always wonderful seeing these grand vintage vehicle being restored and given a second life, as it were.
I wish that thing was as retro inside as it is out. Still a beautiful bus!!

Kenny was your Dad a gospel singer?.
My dream is to one day maybe buy an old vintage coach and travel the country. It just takes you back to the good old days of travel. 👍🏻
Lovely looking Flexible Starliner bus. I regret that I've not seen one in person, but I've seen pics of them, and I find them beautiful! Way better looking than today's buses. :)
Gorgeous coach.
I'm from NYC and I remember the flexible starlings of the bus company called CARRY BUS LINES They operated between NYC east side terminal on first Ave Manhattan NY to Idlewild air port& Newark airport also
Straight up classic and sweet Andy!
Very good looking bus.
I love anything vintage
This blows away anything being built today
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!! If I only knew how to have one of those...too old now to afford or start such a project, great job though!!
What is the name of the song you play at the end of the video?
Beautiful bus!
From 1968 to 1970 I was a driver for Continental Air Transport in Chicago. We ran scheduled trips from Chicago's two airports to downtown and some suburbs. The fleet of 150 busses was all Flxible.
Simply awesome. Beautiful. If I could afford such a work of art, I probably would be very reluctant to even drive it.
Wow! The classic jet age vision is overwhelming.
Nicely done 👍 inside and outside. Beautiful 🚌.
Andy, You did an excellent job restoring the flexible flyer !!! Oh ya swing by and pick me up !!! 😊 Just fantastic really!!!
She is Beautiful, Thank You for sharing.... as with most classic vehicles, It will only go up in value !!
Thank You! Of all the vehicles I've owned in the past, not one has gone up in value. But I like the way you think!
It's an object not a person.
The Gadget Guru
what's the blue book value on this and for insurance if it becomes a total?
Since it's a vintage vehicle, I can't answer the Blue Book question, but I can tell you it's insured for an agreed upon value.
Airstream trailers
Sweet and simple beauty! Love old buses like this. Very nicely done too :~)
Don't think I've ever seen anything as beautiful.
I would have to disagree it is hideous they ruined it, it makes me sad to see how they ruined it, old vehicles are not meant to be restored like that they are far more beautiful to be left how they are, just be made functional and nothing else
This is rolling Art! Just Beautiful.
Now that's an RV. Very cool!!!
Very pretty bus both the exterior and the interior ive always thought they were one of the nicest looking buses ever built
Andy, I drove a Flxible bus for the tour company at the Grand Canyon in 1963, and it was a blast to drive. We had mostly gas, but one was diesel, which was loud with no real insulation between coach seating and engine! Enjoyed.
With the diesel in the rear of the bus, from the driver's seat, it's fairly quiet.
Beautiful!! And a hint of patriotism too!
And I thought my 89 Fleetwood Limited restoration/ upgrade was labor intensive. Beautiful attentoon to detail. I upgraded to a 400 hp Cummins and Allison transmission too!
These buses had the most beautiful aesthetic.
Watched this video multiple times. Love this vintage coach. Fabulous 👍🏻
Thanks!
Impressive documentation of an impressive project! Thanks for sharing - and giving me some good ideas for my own project!
Wow.... very very cool!!... great job... everything is nice but a special mention to the retro dining table seat covers...very tasteful

Magnifique , vraiment magnifique !!!! j'aime les deux lits, c'est du jamais vu! voilà encore une raison qui me fait rêver de visiter l'Amérique !
What a beautiful bus. Very nice indeed. Thank you for sharing. It must must make the Prevost look good when they're both in the garage. Lol.
Very cool!
Beautiful unit.
Very cool!
As a kid, I loved watching the Flxible buses come in & out of town. I used to imitate the sound of the smooth 6-cyl (?) engines.
Not to be a nudge, but it's not a restored bus, it's a customized unit. Still a beauty.
You are absolutely correct! If it was restored, it would be in it's passenger bus configuration. It's been converted to motorhome usage. Thank You for the clarification. Yes, facts = good!
Resto Mod perhaps.
@@TheGadgetGuru I have a question..How do you open the door from the outside?? 😂🚌
@@rss7329 There's a hidden handle.

Stunning
the back side door you opened was the escape door on the last row of seats .the luggage went in the compartment below the passengers .
Questo bus è un opera d'arte. BRAVO

I used to live in a flexible Starliner motorhome for six years it was the best time of my life I miss my flexible
Love the bus! I wish the interior was done in 50's style and color though.
