    Thank you so much for making this video. I was talking to my cousin about drought tolerant desert trees and later ur video came up in my recommendations.

    Those are great trees, cool bark. Pinion smells great for firewood. I have a pile waiting for our wood stove to be installed. Hopi call corn, squash and beans the sisters.

    Thanks for the video. I have a few green trunk palo verde trees near my house in El Paso and I was trying to find out more information about them. Have you eaten the flowers or seeds before? How did you find out that they were edible? I've been looking for more information on these trees. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

      I have eaten the flowers, they taste medicinal. I did a bunch of research on the Palo Verde to find out if it was edible.

    Great info about your trees! Funny how they only grow at certain elevations for the one!

    I like those trees also. They are very drought tolerant and they grow fast if you water them a lot.

    I love those trees. How long do the roots get? Are they the same depth underground as the height is above ground, like some trees?

    • @TerraFirmaX
      @TerraFirmaX  5 років тому +2

      I do know that they are a tap root tree and are non invasive so they are safe around pipes and structures. I don't know how deep the tap root will go but it must be pretty deep because of the drought tolerance .

      @@TerraFirmaX Oh, okay. I wonder if the shallow depth of your pot the trees are growing in is what's stunting their growth.

    • @TerraFirmaX
      @TerraFirmaX  5 років тому +1

      @@BCElginTex It could be, but that is a 12" pot about the same depth as the ones the store bought palo verde trees came in. But we have been thinking about putting them in the ground.

    Just want to say this is not the state tree. This is a hybrid non-native. Blue palo verde and foothills paloverde are often avoided because thorns.

      The “Palo Verde” according to google, IS the state tree.
