Her face, as she stares in his eyes and places his hand on her heart....and his face, as he deals with the flood of emotions while feeling that heartbeat, is some of the finest acting I've ever witnessed. Cudos to everyone involved in the making of this poignant video.
My oldest son ended up loving this song when he was 6. He would always ask me to lie down beside him to fall asleep and listen to this. This song will always have a special place in my heart.
I must've seen this video a hundred times, and I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME. Peter Capaldi, the actor playing the older man (and also Lewis Capaldi's second cousin) is just superb in this video - he doesn't say a single word, but he doesn't need to; you can see everything in his facial expressions and body language. And of course the ong itself is beautiful too. Lewisc Capaldi is a truly great songwriter with a unique voice.
I am glad I watched this video your reacting to while my Wife was running errands. I literally ugly cried at how sad this was! I feel ya bro, it's nearly impossible to NOT feel the pain in the words of the song.
That song put Lewis on the map, with this video. They reshot a video with him in it after to introduce him to the world I guess... It's been 3 years, still on my playlist and still enjoying it every time it plays! And Lewis is also an amazing human being and, ironically, funniest guy in the business at the moment. He is relatable, and you can tell by the way his fans will call him by his first name, as if he was just one of their friends. He has got a new album coming in the spring, 2 singles are already out, and listening to his first album is never a waste of time because it's all good! Really, he battles with severe anxiety and tourettes and is opened about it, which is important, i think, with so many people dealing with mental health issues nowadays. We need more Lewises in the world ☺
This video is for sure a big production. Featuring his 2nd cousin Peter Capaldi, who's best known internationally as one of the BBC's incarnations of Doctor Who. This isn't one of my favourite songs from Lewis, but good grief, did it strike a chord with folk! Blew him up to the point where he sold out an arena tour before his first album was released! o_O If you'd like massively cheered up after the heaviness of this , there's a great wee interview with Lewis on the BBC's Graham Norton Show which you should check out- it's not everyone who can just be himself & accidentally out-funny Jim Carrey on a chat show. ;) Also, if you'd like to just appreciate the lad's singing without the distraction of a big production video, there's a great live capture of one of the first songs he wrote, "Bruises", with just him singing with his pianist sat behind him, which I reckon is one of the best ways to enjoy him giving a signature heartfelt vocal with zero fuss around it. I'm not asking for a reaction vid (which is just as well given it's a "vevo" job, & you'd struggle to get a reaction vid cleared!) - just treat yourself sometime. ;)
Hes amazing he says how he feels be struggles everyday he thinks hws not enough he touches the soul he tells the truth he is unbelievable and amazing ❤
This isn't the full video, they didn't show the heartbeat listening with the train at the beginning and end--strange move because it makes it easier to understand the constant headphone wearing (wife's recorded heart beat)
Hadn't seen that video before but saw he decided to do it to make people aware of what being an organ donor can do for others. Song was for his granny ❤
Ugh, we were driving from New Orleans to Houston to see him in concert when the concert had to be cancelled hours before bc a tropical storm was hitting Houston and it was flooded. Still haven’t seen him live. Dang Mother Nature
If you don't cry with this video, you have a serious problem. I am 54 years old, and I have been educated in not demonstrating feelings, but this video destroys all defenses.
Lewis capaldi and Peter Capaldi are related. Not sure how (Ignorantly didn't do my home work) but I believe he's his second uncle?? Someone correct me if I'm wrong....
@@BirdmansPlace It's okay....just after you stopped, the video went back to the old man standing at the train tracks with earbuds in, like in the beginning, and you hear the heartbeat sound again (like in the beginning) but now understand its significance. The old man actually recorded her heartbeat (in the scene where he puts the stethoscope on his wife's chest, you can see a little box on the bed next to her that is the recording device). Her heartbeat is what he listens to as he goes about his day. That you for a great reaction videos. I've watched others of yours and they are always great.
Look, new subscriber, fellow drinker, (take this with a teaspoon of salt) I would like to spill some tea, the, "as a fellow impath," is a cringe saying on the internet as a whole, but can be used in the middle of the video, as in, "As an impath I feel like..." and such. I still love your work as such, but the impath approach usually works with the same disclaimer as an opinion piece in the news.
Already have....I was the first American to do it. It destroyed me, as it was about his father, since I lost my father back in 2017. Just search for it on the channel. I ugly cried.
Your trying to get the songs meaning with the wrong video. This isn’t the music video this is one movie they added the song to. It is about a break up not about the girl he was in love with dying.
Wrong... Wrong video...the visual of this movie isn't what the lyrical content are written about...it's a shame that people misguided you...oh well...its the difference between being true to the artist and not a promotional product for a movie 😮
This is the one I was requested to react to...so it's the one I reacted to. No one misguided me. This is what they wanted the reaction to. And since then I have seen the other video as well. This one was much more powerful.
Her face, as she stares in his eyes and places his hand on her heart....and his face, as he deals with the flood of emotions while feeling that heartbeat, is some of the finest acting I've ever witnessed. Cudos to everyone involved in the making of this poignant video.
Tears, every single time.
My oldest son ended up loving this song when he was 6.
He would always ask me to lie down beside him to fall asleep and listen to this.
This song will always have a special place in my heart.
He's listening to a recording of her heartbeat on the headphones.
This one gets me every time. The little piano riff, the melody, the lyricism, the voice and the emotion in the way he sings, it's all phenomenal.
Well Brother, you had the same reaction as I have every time I've watched this video. Incredible video to be paired with this heart wrenching song.
What got me is the whole time we see him wearing the headphones throughout the video, he was listening to his wife’s heartbeat🥺
You missed the beginning and the end of the video, he was listening to his wife’s heartbeat through his earphones 😢
That older man is Peter capaldi They are second cousins. Peter capaldi was once Doctor Who and in an incredible actor in many other things

Wtf. I have gone this far without knowing Peter and Lewis were related, but now it seems so obvious! 🤯
And Peter Capaldi was also Doctor Who!
They didn't even know each other until this video. Peter is Lewis's distant cousin@@b-six-twelve
@@b-six-twelve They didn't know each other before doing the video (he was his dad's 2nd cousin, so very distant).
@@MitziOconnell-d4c That makes a lot of sense! There isn’t a huge family resemblance for sure
Only real men cry......😢
He sings with incredible passion !! His voice is absolutely captivating ! He is my favorite male vocalist by far !!
I have watched that video so many times and still cry every time.
Literally the most beautiful song ever made
And the Best video ever.
This was written as a break up song, but this video takes in in a different direction which is more heart wrenching.
It wasn’t a breakup song. It was written about his Grandma passing away.
Not a breakup song, it was written about his Grandmother and her passing.
Wrong

The original video of this song was with him in it, the song is about an ex of his. This video is a remake.
And he's listening to his wife's heartbeat in the headphones
Thanks for reacting to this song
What a voice. Sad song😢 but beautiful

The old man iin the video is peter capaldi the guy who played doctor who. Its actually a cousin of Lewis capaldi.
You have to watch Lewis's latest video for Wish you the Best, another tear-jerker.
This isn't the full video, they didn't show the heartbeat listening with the train at the beginning and end--strange move because it makes it easier to understand the constant headphone wearing (wife's recorded heart beat)
I love Lewis that song came out the same time my husband passed away still cry every time I hear it 🥲
Great reaction. Hugs to you.😢
Great reaction bud, you should really check out more lewis capaldi, he is amazing live
The older man in the video was Peter Capaldi, the 12th Doctor in the Doctor who series . A distant cousin
On a Lewis Capaldi reaction spree and I can’t wait to see you react to his latest one Wish You Better 😭
Lewis Capaldi doesn't make music videos, Lewis Capaldi makes movies
The "older man" in the video is peter capaldi, aka Dr Who lol
Hadn't seen that video before but saw he decided to do it to make people aware of what being an organ donor can do for others. Song was for his granny ❤
loved your reaction as emotional as my own

Yup

Whenever I see someone react to this, I know the moment they see the scar they will begin to crumble.
You should do his song "tough" the live acoustic version!
Why is noone recognising Dr Who? Lol
I knew this song before but never seen the official video
Bro I’m at work rn I can’t be ugly crying like this 😭😭

The man in the video is peter capaldi
He's Lewis Capaldi's cousin
He's the doctor lol
there is another video to that song, where it is a girl there break op with him
You started the video a little late and ended it early, as already said he was listening to his late wife's heartbeat on the headphones
I've never seen the video but this broke me
The best bit of this video is at 537

Yeah I'm an empath to, i can't watch this without crying. I just can't
I watched the video for the song I wish you the best I think it’s called and man that song and video literally wrecked me
oh me too...believe me. Did a reaction to that one too. You can find it on the channel.
You missed the start and the end of the video where he’s listening to her heartbeat on his headphones……
You need to watch the other video with him in it!

Its about his gran dying
I actually prefer the video with him in it.
you dont need to try and figure it out
the lyrics can be applied to all forms of lost love
I like the other vid more, not the movie. It is a break up song in that vid.
Expecting an American to “shut up and pay attention” is a massive ask.
Was this directed at me? You do realize this is a reaction video, don't you?
Quite a bigoted statement, wasn't it?
FYI it is a break up song. It’s this video that ruins it.
can people start saying analysis, instead of reaction. As reactions just watching it and see how you react. Not pause and try make sense of it!
You're so dramatic.
Why do people watch this video?! You should’ve watched the his original video! But oh well. Watch it at your on time then . I don’t like this video.
