Based on user feedback the developers are going to change the SSR to UR promotion to go from 5 stars to 3 stars instead of 0 stars. Those who already promoted and went to zero stars will receive compensation.
I've heard that 5 star Mason drops to 3 stars - can you confirm? Also, none of those shards are returned? Good to know the shards from Wall of Honor are returned. Other videos weren't clear about that. Thanks.
I just watched your Violet upgrade video and see they do drop to 3 stars. 👍
Yes he drops to 3 stars. It wasn't like that at first. They made that change after the initial release. The way Mason is handled will be the same as you saw for Violet.

@WatchWithMeUA-cam, yes Sir! All skill medals used on Mason are returned by mail. Also, they just announced that they will reset five star Mason to three stars on promotion - which is a big improvement from what happen to many of us where he was reset to zero stars.

@@friendsfrenz1944 iirc, all tiers are double the normal (I know for a fact the five star tiers are 200). He will start at three stars. So 600 for four stars (5 * 120) and 1000 for five stars ( 5 * 200) -- 1600 shards.
Does it worth to upgrade Mason to UR then?
@rachelduke888 At this point for me I promoted Mason even though I don't use him in a main squad. He certainly becomes stronger than any of the other SSR heroes and even stronger than a few of the Legendary heroes without being fully upgraded. So I would say that upgrading Mason to Legendary is worth it even if you don't use him in the main squad. There really isn't much of a downside bottom line he'll be stronger after promotion.

@unicoen1239 - That is what happened. Mason star level is reset to zero and any shards used on the Wall of Honor are returned by mail.
However, yesterday they announced in Discord that many of us were unhappy with that.
Going forward, a five star Mason who is promoted will reset to three stars. Those of use that already promoted him will get the equivalent of three stars in shards refunded. All other factors unchanged (Wall of Honor shards returned by mail, still uses SSR purple shards, and the number of shards required to increase tier star fragment are higher than normal UR hero).
I hope this helps clarify and good news just released.
