Glad you’re healthy and have your house in order! It is a ton of work producing videos and I think homebrewing UA-camrs have it especially rough since beer takes so much time to make (for the most part). As a fellow homebrewer, UA-camr, and family man I completely understand where you’re coming from! Although I will also say that if you do decide to leave permanently you will be missed. But your backlog of videos will live forever and hopefully help and inspire future generations of homebrewers as they have me. Cheers Larry 🍻
Glad to see you healthy! The grind takes a toll that I think only other content creators understand. It can be brutal at times. I have very similar reasons to yours to taking a lot of time off in 2025. Dont sacrifice your health or relationships for youtube, viewers will still be there for when you upload, and we're looking forward to it!
Well said! It sounds like you added a little high blood pressure with the home renovation part. 😂I fully understand you, and that reminds me of one of the two reasons I ALWAYS hit "Like" after watching a video as a kind of "Thank you" for your hard work in producing the video. The second reason is to remind me if I ever click on the video again if I've seen it before, as the like button will already be checked. (My memory sucks.) I joke with my two boys that as I get older, every movie will be a premiere, and before I finally breathe my last breath, I'll probably have checked out many years beforehand. (Yep, I'm a bit of a dark humor type.)
Glad to see you back even for a bit. Maybe a new name, BEER-N--BBQ-N-BALANCE by Larry! Sorry you had to have a bump in the road but as all old philosophers say, its all for a reason. The past is just that, dont forget but dont dwell on it, learn from it as it looks like you have. You are still the Captain of the ship going forward and whatever you decide is how its going to be. Thanks for the update and best of luck in figuring out your path forward in the future.
Glad to see you back Larry! Your videos helped me learn how to Brew. I'm sure I'm one of many subscribers who have missed your videos, but I'm happy you are prioritizing your physical and mental health
Thanks Larry. I waited. Now I'm close to retirement and plan on doing the thing I love.. FYI. The health issues come regardless and what you did was the right thing.. I'm 63 and been through much.. Stay happy. Put the family and your health first.
Larry, glad to have you back (in whatever capacity)! I appreciate all you have done for me and the thousands of home brewers around the world as we embarked on our home brewing journeys . . . you were my guiding light in an often confusing hobby when I got started nearly 10 years ago. With that said, I noticed the box behind you in the video . . . it looks like a FLASH brewing kit box! I tried a kit recently just to see what kind of product it produce - I honestly felt a bit guilty with the simplicity of the kit compared to a full all-grain brewing day. Anyway, I would be interested in your thoughts/evaluation of the result. Prost!
Glad to hear you're taking time for your family and self. That is most of what life is about. I've learned a lot about brewing from you and still enjoy it to this day. Keep your focus on what's important to you!
Happy 2025 Larry!! Glad to hear your doing and feeling better! I definitely enjoy your videos especially around better brewing technique and equipment. Whatever you decide, thank you for putting this channel together!
Way to go Larry. Been following you for years. I have enjoyed your content immensley and regularly rewatch your old stuff. Same with you two boys Elementary Brewing & Bitter Reality, love your work and some of the others that have commented. You and your family come first. Thank you all its very much appreciated. We see the end product and i can relate somewhat to the amount of time you guys put in from when i was coaching sport. High level athletes need constant hard work so i do feel your pain. Thanks again to you all.
Thanks for the update Larry. I've enjoyed your channel for many years. You already have an extensive library of videos which will be discovered by those new to the hobby. I'm looking forward to any new videos in the future. Until then, take care of yourself and the ones you value in your life first.
Hi there Larry, very sorry about your health issues, and very Glad your now on track, we really miss you here in the UK, your a great guy, we wish you all the best, hope you can get back into Brewing, Happy new year, to you and your family, God bless 🙏
Hey Larry glade you’re doing well, it’s important to always take care of yourself. I’ve learned a lot from you over the years and enjoy your videos, I found that the home brewing Phase has died off. I myself have completely stopped, sold my big system and just kept my GF 30 for maybe one day.. Hope you keep well, and if you decide to make videos I will be here to watch them.
Keep up the good work doing your thing with the weight. You inspired me on brewing beer and now I turned into a monster on brewing lol. But sad love your show.😢😢😮😢
Good to see you back Larry, but more happy that your health is back on track. (Was wondering what you were up to just a couple of weeks ago actually, made your pit beans yet again for a bunch of friends on Christmas Eve as part of pulled-pork sundaes). Take care, and good luck with the ongoing balancing trick as you move forward.
I have never post a single comment in UA-cam but I think that it is a good time, mate I know exactly what you mean when you posted the video, it is good that you have found a new way of doing things that feed you inside, sometimes the most important things are around us and we do not miss them until they are gone. I have been following since a few years, I loved always the pasion and the soul that you put on those videos and seeing the first videos of the channel 12 years ago... I completely got you. Mate do the stuff that makes you happy I think that you just found out... others like me had to visit the hospital to learn that lesson. Keep being yourself and do what makes you happy, we will be here thanks for all the fun and learnings in your videos, you are a good man, good luck!!
I just got my results back from this weeks physical and I too need to step back from brewing and drinking. Thanks for everything you have done and cheers to great health in the New Year!🎉🍻
It’s amazing how all that hard work done with home improvements does nothing to keep the weight off. I have gained about 20-30 pounds the last 2 years because of starting away from the gym to focus on home improvements. Sucks. Hopefully in the next 6-9 months I can finish and make health a priority.
Totally understand! I only found your channel a couple weeks ago, and just used your spreadsheet for my first all-grain brew day last weekend, so I really appreciate what you've given to the community. But I'm always happy to see a UA-camr say that they're stepping back and re-evaluating their priorities. Your health and happiness comes first.
Thanks for the update. Miss your videos, but do what is best for you. Yeah, I make sure I get my annual exam every 5 years, whether I need it or not. 😂
Glad to see you back! All I can say is cherish the time with your family. In your free time, you may as well be doing something that brings you joy. No regrets moving forward! looking forward to seeing some vids in the future!
Yeah, the ads on UA-cam are ridiculous. Kinda like trying to watch a football game. You watch 20 minutes of commercials before half the 1st quarter is done. I'm glad you're doing good and staying healthy, Larry. We only get 1 body, so we best be taking care of it. Cheers!
Hey, it's great to hear from you! I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, so brewing's taken a backseat while I focus on getting healthy. I've lost 30 pounds and want to keep brewing, just less often. Before I do, though, I need to make sure I'm healthy for myself and my family. Thanks for the info, and I get that you gotta put yourself first before UA-cam. Good luck!
Just wanted to say I've been watching you for years and love your content! I know exactly what you mean about not putting so much effort into future videos. I feel like the more I try, the worse my videos preform. It's kind of frustrating and doesn't really make sense. After reviewing/researching many channels I am convinced that certain topics get "shadow banned", beer and whiskey channels included. I bet if you made a DIY renovation/ handyman channel, it would do really well! You have the skills to run any type of channel now. Cheers!
I hear ya, man. I was spending a lot of time editing videos but quickly realized that it was my least favorite part of making videos. So I have LOTS of footage, but very little desire to sit here and edit it all. I have my 9 to 5 in the software industry and the last thing I want to do is sit in front of a computer for even longer to edit videos. 2024 was an off year for me, too. Glad you're working on your health and I'm here to watch whatever you (eventually) put out.
I'm glad you are feeling better, and the remodeling looks great! I looked forward to your videos. I've learned so much! I even made my own jockeybox. Don't get me started on your recipes and spread sheets. Lol! I really wish the best for you. Cheers!
Hi Larry, You mentioned your channel flat lining. I think the hobby has pretty much flat lined too. There was a lot more brewing activity on utube 10 years ago when I first started brewing. And there were many more home brew stores back then too. I am 73 years old now, and I still brew at least five gallons a month. I have an Anvil 6.5 gallon, and I love the dual voltage option. I bought it primarily to use as a hot liquor tank, but it works well on small batch brew days. I made an adapter to plug into the dryer outlet. 240 volts makes a huge difference. I love the product hate their customer service. Looking forward to another one of your brew days. Happy New Year! and Cheers!
Best of Luck Larry Sad to See No BBQ or Beer Larry Anymore! Chad has to be devastated as all of us 3:48 are! Health gets in the way of many things in life we enjoyed and can no longer do! God Bless Ya Over and Out!
There you are! Glad you’re ok now and also glad you were able to step away to take care of you. Hope to see more content, but at a pace that works for you brother! Happy new year!
I have been wondering if you were going to post anything again. I'm glad that you took some time for yourself. That is definitely more important than most people know. I was in a similar boat as you a few years back. Health issues and then I had to move across the country and start a new job so I took have not brewed in quite a while. I am looking forward to get my brew space situated in the next year or so. Good luck and I hope to see more content in the future. Even just a quick video about a beer that you brewed and what your thoughts are on the new equipment you got would be just fine.
Thanks for everything you have done over the years! You are one of the first brewing channels I came across when I started my brewing adventures. Regardless of what you do going forward, thanks for teaching me so much about brewing. Wishing you a healthy 2025 and beyond!! Cheers
(Great point you made here) “Put up a camera, film & be done” if you happen to be brewing or BBQing in a weekend, we’d love to see some footage but it can be handheld from your iPhone if that’s all the time you got!
Larry, most important is you are healthy mate and secondly you have to find the right balance right. Hope you find a way to bring videos whilst enjoying what you do. Certainly learnt a lot from you and am a keen bbq n beer guys now part of a homebrew club. Thank you, but you know what’s best for you dude. 🇬🇧
Hope you stay healthy and don't worry about the videos. Love watching them but it's not worth messing up your health or missing important life moments over. Hope you see you post once in a while and thanks for all the years of content.
Please research the carnivore diet. Worked for me. I missed your brewing videos, but I get it. It took me two years to piece together my all stainless HERMS system, but the propane burner- no digital controls made hitting temps, ramping up, and running off a nightmare of inconsistant outcomes. Plus brewing beer and always having a corny keg on tap of 7 % or higher ABV beer was not healthy for me either. Now I ride my mountain bike four days a week for an hour or more and drink a store-bought craft beer about once a week. Can’t part with my brewery yet though. Best of luck for your new lifestyle!
Glad to hear from you Larry! Take your time, no rush. Family and health are way more important. Simplified videos where less or no editing Is required are a really good idea!
Glad to see you post a new video. #1 - Do what's right for you. That said, you're one of my favorite channels. I think I've watched 95% of your videos. I remember when I first watched one of your videos, thinking does this guy know what he's talking about? lol! I can say after watching a 2 hour video on your spreadsheet, yeah, this guy knows his stuff! I still use your spreadsheet and see no reason to change. Hope to see more videos, and, as long as it's watchable, F* the production effort!
Larry, good to hear form you! Definitely take care of yourself and your family. Your how-to-brew series got me into the hobby and I'm happy to continue to watch the channel even in a lighter form.
Happy new year, Larry! Easy does it is probably a good approach. I learned a lot from all of your videos and I’m sure so did many fellow brewers. Glad your home and health are improving ❤ take care
Glad to have you here. I am happy to see you are doing well and I will be watching your future videos. You are one of very few channels I watch for ideas and advice. See you soon!
Vlog style videos are great, minimal editing and camera on the wall type stuff! Keep it simple :) Guga and Weissman had shifts to more healthy but still interesting videos a few months back too, they're doing great and I'm sure you would too!
Happy New Year Larry. I’ve always appreciated your videos and how you presented yourself. After brewing for 5 ish years, I too took a big step back these last couple years for what I think has been the better. I’m 36 and have 3 little kids and when you brought up your regret on not spending a lot of time with yours in years past, it really resonated. Lately I’ve been really looking forward to doing some home projects of mine in the form of outdoor landscaping, garden planning, chicken coop building, and tinkering with cheap chinese mini skid skid steers/excavators (there’s a bunch of videos about them) in order to facilitate that work. I wish you and your family all the best.
Good for you Larry. I'm glad your taking care of yourself. Now for the video's, Dude whatever you put out their is fine with me. You were one of my 1st videos I watched that got me into homebrewing. So do what you can, when you can, and I will watch.
Thanks for your brewing videos. I learned a lot from you on different ways to do things etc. I have since stopped brewing and don't even drink beer anymore but I enjoyed the ride while it lasted.
You're the man Larry! don't sacrifice health for your fans. Something i would like to see you do is possibly brew some of the Non-alcoholic beers! they seem to be more and more popular and i have found a few that i definitely like. Crazy to think as a die hard homebrewer that i enjoy and look forward to some of the no/low alcohol ipa's. I crave hops and hop flavor even when I'm on a sober kick.
Good to see you again Larry but you have to take care of yourself. I don't know how you kept up with the channel on top of family, work, health and chores! Looking forward to future content, I think you're wise to not go overboard on editing, etc. My favorite channels are more adlib sharing of personal projects and less about perfectly curated videos. Good luck, looking forward to the next brewing or grill adventure!
An rud is annamh is iontach. What does that mean? It's clear from your subscribers that we all wish you well. Don't sweat the small stuff on your content. Proceed at your own pace. Top line means "What is seldom is wonderful". Fan from Ireland.
Happy New Year Larry, thank you for the update. So glad to hear you are doing well. Take care of yourself first and i look forward to seeing you if and when you have time. All the best to you and your family
Always enjoy your videos from Godalming, England, UK ! - I'm on statins as a 55 year old - pretty common thing now - just do the odd video when you want, 3 a year, no worries, best of luck.

Welcome back! Cancel subscription? Are you nuts? 😅 Looking forward to the next video.
Same thing happened to me in 2024; tired, felt jaw pain one night, trip to ER and 100% blocked artery and a stent. Now on a statin, bp med, beta blocker. Still brewing, drinking beer. Except I weigh 150 lbs. So it's way more than just a statin; if you haven't been seen by a bona fide cardiologist, see one immediately (because of your fatigue and possibly circulatory system induced numbness) and get a full workup to be sure you don't need a stent. My blockage hit me suddenly. A guy I met at a party on December 24 is dead as of yesterday; massive heart attack. Get fully checked out.
Glad to know you're feeling better Larry. Looking forward to more stuff from you this year!
Larry, so glad to hear your health is better & feeling better. Look forward to watching more of your content. You were missed
Moderation Larry, we are cool with a video once a month 👍
Glad to see you back Larry! Your videos helped me learn how to Brew. I'm sure I'm one of many subscribers who have missed your videos, but I'm happy you are prioritizing your physical and mental health
Thanks Larry. I waited. Now I'm close to retirement and plan on doing the thing I love.. FYI. The health issues come regardless and what you did was the right thing.. I'm 63 and been through much.. Stay happy. Put the family and your health first.
Im upset larry you've been gone so long! But im glad your here!
So glad you took care of yourself and very happy to see you back. Your content has been a great inspiration over the years!

You’ve always been the best, Larry! I hope you keep putting videos out. Your early educational videos helped me learn so much brewing!

Larry, good to hear form you! Definitely take care of yourself and your family. Your how-to-brew series got me into the hobby and I'm happy to continue to watch the channel even in a lighter form.
We are glad you are healthy, Larry
Happy new year, Larry! Easy does it is probably a good approach. I learned a lot from all of your videos and I’m sure so did many fellow brewers. Glad your home and health are improving ❤ take care
Glad to have you here. I am happy to see you are doing well and I will be watching your future videos. You are one of very few channels I watch for ideas and advice. See you soon!
It's good to see that you're doing well. Hope you have a good year.
Vlog style videos are great, minimal editing and camera on the wall type stuff! Keep it simple :) Guga and Weissman had shifts to more healthy but still interesting videos a few months back too, they're doing great and I'm sure you would too!
Nice to see you healthy and happy. And good to see you back on youtube.
Keep us posted on your new setup. I’m looking to get one myself and ditch the three kettles
Good to see you back Larry, you look great! Take care of yourself!
Glad to see you old man.
Happy, healthy new year!
Thanks for your brewing videos. I learned a lot from you on different ways to do things etc. I have since stopped brewing and don't even drink beer anymore but I enjoyed the ride while it lasted.
Happy New Year Larry. We wish you all the best in 2025!
Long time fan, still enjoying your content
Cheers to good health! Your channel has been forever inspiring sir
Good to see you Larry. Happy New Year!
It was good to see u again…
You're the man Larry! don't sacrifice health for your fans. Something i would like to see you do is possibly brew some of the Non-alcoholic beers! they seem to be more and more popular and i have found a few that i definitely like. Crazy to think as a die hard homebrewer that i enjoy and look forward to some of the no/low alcohol ipa's. I crave hops and hop flavor even when I'm on a sober kick.
I switched to hop water for my hop fix and love it. Not all hop waters are the same. Some brands are better than others.
Great to see you again, Larry!
You do You, Larry!! Happy New Year!
@@berniegilles4110 Thanks, Bernie. Hope things are well in your sector.

Wishing you the best Larry.
Always enjoy your content. Stay healthy.

Happy New Year Larry, thank you for the update.
So glad to hear you are doing well. Take care of yourself first and i look forward to seeing you if and when you have time.
All the best to you and your family
Happy new year larry!! Hope to see you more in ‘25
Always enjoy your videos from Godalming, England, UK ! - I'm on statins as a 55 year old - pretty common thing now - just do the odd video when you want, 3 a year, no worries, best of luck.
Welcome back! Cancel subscription? Are you nuts? 😅
Looking forward to the next video.
And Happy new Year
Thanks for the update
Thanks for the video
