I've recently learned of Mr. Flipper's story and find it so inspiring. I teach US History (high school level) and am looking forward to incorporating his story into my curriculum. A talented screenwriter could turn his story into an incredible film.
can you imagine going through all of the ugly shameful disrespect and other things from people who think they are quote unquote better than you are. So proud of this man along with countless others.
"Americans always do the right thing...after exhausting every other option first." -Winston Churchill The U.S. almost always waits at least 50 years to put right what it has done wrong. It took almost 100 years for the Army to award the late Henry Johnson of the 369th Harlem Hellfighters the Congressional Medal of Honor for keeping the Germans from winning the First World War.

The shit that man endured at West point had to be unimaginable. God bless all who had to go through it
Thanks, USMA! Great job. I, too, promote the legacy of Henry O. Flipper with my play dramatizing his 1881 trial.
Purest example of a warrior you'll ever find.
Thank you for publishing this Russ. It is amazing the trail that was blazed before us.
Outstanding video from West Point. Thanks to the Army for making this video. Espcially liked seeing the cadets contribute to this video. Thumbs up!!
Very admirable and inspiring. What rich history we have.
He is one very famous man!
One of the most important "African American firsts" and barely anyone knows his name.
Happy Birthday Henry O. Flipper 03-21-2022
Thanks for the homework answers
Sucks he wasn’t alive to see his rank restored
