Hiya Cory and Randy - where were the "blue stuff fittings" from? Someone like me will make a beeline to the plumbing aisle at HD or Lowes and literally ask for "blue fittings". Thank you!
Truly like those almost black angels with the turquoise blue in the fins. Those are beautiful I like black angels anyway but these may have become my favorite I know they are a cross what was the cross,, if you can.
They're finally in stock...! I ordered mine yesterday... now I've gotta get my pvc hoop up and installed...! Y'all are awesome...! Keep it up...! Oh yeah, get up, open your door & go find some nature to enjoy...! Thanks
How do you know how big your pump should be to make enough air, i cant buy the one from the video, they dont send to denmark. But what should i look for, i seached for info about in a long time, and cant find Any help. Right now i have 8 tanks diffents size, but I have 18 more in the basement, so i just wanna buy one air pump Which can run the 8 now but still run alle when i get more tanks setup. 🤔☺️
Very helpful. Was worried that my current pump was not sufficient so if that turns out to be true, simple solution! Thank you, exactly what I was looking for.
Excellent video! I love how you all show how-to with slightly small spaces and it looks awesome, Randy. Got such a laugh from the zoom on his footing of the stepstool! Omg🤣
3/4 inch pipe is very common pipe it is used in a lot of home applications and lawn irrigation so a lot of people hear about it so that is why it is used. Thanks for the new information.
When cutting PVC with PVC cutters the cutter does not remove material like a hacksaw would. This creates a lip on the tip of the pipe which pushes out the glue as you push the pipe into a coupling or fitting. I usually bevel the edge of the pipe via sandpaper or concrete floor.
I set my air system up in a 2" pipe loop. I sealed it off and days later fired up the pump before I drilled the tap points so the pressure would eject the shavings. I was almost knocked unconscious by the latent fumes of the glue as soon as my drill poked through!
Very nice to see another video in your fish room, Randy! There was one thing you said that I just busted out laughing because I have *been there*, *done that*, sooooo many times. Set something down and it's gone forever..... or so it seems because it takes forever to find it again. (And it drives you crazy because you just had it in your hand a few seconds ago.) Yes, it's sitting right there, but hard to spot. I will often climb the step-stool in order to "look down" on top of the tanks from on high. That helps a lot. However, my new rule is "a place for everything and everything in its place". So I designate locations for things like the TDS meter, thermometers, nets, and just about everything. That way, I save a LOT of time not having to search and search every time I need something. My pump is 67 liters / min running 30 tanks and I have a lot of extra air. In fact, I can open several valves 100% and it still doesn't impact my tanks. I do this so as not to create too much back pressure on the pump needlessly. Here's a tip: if one bleeds off the air at the valve it will hisssssss but attach a length of airline tubing (attached to nothing at the other end) and the hissing will vanish. - Thanks Randy! Fishez
The reason behind the twisting of the pvc isn’t to insure you didn’t miss any spots. It is because the inner most part of the female fittings is tapered. This is to insure there is consistent contact 360 degrees giving you a water tight “weld”.
tks for the in depth layout and equipment explanation. have you ever connsidered setting up a air tank and filling into that then feeding the room off of that tank? like a compressor tank. are there downsides to setting it up this way that made you decide against it? that way your large pump can be used for small room
While that set up has it's uses , supplying air is easier and cheaper with just a small air chamber, basic airlines and cheap plastic Ts and valves. PVC or basic airlines make no difference in the air pressure going through them. What matters is the resistance at each exit and how many air exits there are. If all valves are wide open then the depth in the water will be the difference in resistance. Air, like water looks for the path of least resistance. So what you do is set up all the tanks with wide open valves. Then, if not enough flow in some tanks adjust the valves in the highest flow down to what is acceptable and repeat on each tank until they are all at the rate you want. It's really just a matter of expense and if you want pvc showing everywhere or easily hidden basic airline
Can you give the exact type of fitting used for this system? I come to the store and there are hundreds of them it’s hard to tell if I’ve gotten the right one
So this wonderful pump is back ordered or unavailable on the website. I'll try and find you on Facebook so I can order one should they become available again. Great video great ideas super channel!
Hey Randy !! Could you run the Air Delivery tubing down WITHIN the steel vertical supports that hold up the aquarium shelves?? I'm gonna try it with my new setup. Whaddya think?
Close loop pvc manifolds mounted on the ceiling are not very efficient since the air line required is absurdly long to reach lower tanks and air pressure drops to shite. A more efficient system is to have pvc pipes delivering air to each tier of the rack with all pvc pipes still in a closed loop system. That way, any given length of tubing that the air has to flow that isn't a loop system is shortened and thus pressure is retained. Added benefit; no unsightly and messy long airline dangling from the ceiling, taps for airline easily accessible above each tank, easy adjustment. Do it once, do it good.
Fun content! Was watching 2016 video where you were musing on breeding Cory hasbrosas.? Is there a video on setting that up?. Stuff you have put off doing in your fish room because you are so busy would be fun content for us.
Also fun fact. The reason for the twist of the pipe with any pvc glue, the glue is slightly heat activated, and the friction from the twist provides enough heat to activate the glue to get a proper seal :)
Off topic response to Cory, the Spotify deal that JRE made actually allows them to continue to post on UA-cam without interruption. Seems like the stipulations are rather small if any, Spotify seems to only want to be the “home” which I think is great.
Will this company ever make these again? I looked on your website last week and they were sold out. I looked on your website this morning and it said bad gateway. I don't know if your website is down but I wish you guys the best. 👍🥂😊
Hey Cory when I make my fish room I plan to have 10-15 tanks minimum can I use this air pump or will it be to powerful? Or will I be able to adjust the power with the way we set up the air system
I think you guys have hit on something you could do actually the fish room toolkit. Even if you only have a handful of tanks there are things you need I reckon I’ve probably made 100+ trips just to get some random tool that I never had
Good how-to video. Wish Co-Op would sell a lower output linear piston airpump. For mosquito larvae, if you collect the freshly layed egg rafts, you won't have to worry about accidentally hatching out mosquitos. They are flat, black, tiny (half the length & width of a grain of rice) floating rafts. Each raft hatches out many wrigglers. I harvest every day or two. It is great food.
What are the parts called that tap into the pvc that the airline tubing connects too??? I’m wanting to switch to running my fish room on sponge filters using a piston air pump from running 38 tanks on 11 sumps...
Hey bud great video thanks., I'm setting up a very large hydroponic system that will require 100 bubblers. This looks like my best option. Do you have any videos on your air line distribution rig on the cealing?
I'm thinking about buying this for my hydroponic system. If I'm using 5 gallons of water in a bucket ..how many bucket might I be able to put air stone in using this pump?
With the piston air pump, if you are not using close to its volume of output, would it be a good idea to basically open a port just to let the system breath? Or is it not effected by back pressure?
I didn’t realise that pumps and their attached pipes run hot. I’ve just set up my system and even with all 30 valves open, the pump got hot so I thought the pump was too powerful. The trouble with having all the unused valves open is that air doesn’t flow in some of the tanks. Do I need to downsize my pump?
Can you use an air pump like this for just a couple tens and 5gals? I only have 2 5gal, 6 10gal, and 2 29gal tanks. If I did use this would it burn out or anything like that?
What is the least amount of tanks that could be ran off of this unit? Currently have 2- 30gals with Ziss moving bed's, 1- 75gal with a corner matten, 1- 55gal with a Ziss moving bed, 1-45 with a moving bed and setting up another 75- with a corner matten? I've been wanting to upgrade to one of these for a long time but i was afraid of not having enough tanks for one.
QUESTION?? I like all of your videos... I just made an account on your site and have some products in my cart. Before I check out I wanted to know if you had large rocks or shall I say large sculptures on your website? I didn’t see any and wanted to make sure I didn’t miss them if you did. Thank you

I loved both strains of angelfish u have there ;)
Perfect video, just made my customer service life so much easier! Thank you both.
The sections in the video timeline are _super_ helpful. Glad you could bring this out for us. ;)
Funny this video came out. I’ve been rewatching your original fish room build videos this past week. Learning lots. Thanks as always

Anyone else notice the irony of the name one pump to rule them all even though the entire video is about that he needed two pumps
RE: those angelfish! What strains are they? Those blackish with blue in fins are killer! I want some....gotta have that strain!
I think those are the pearlscales they were talking about
They are called pinoy :)
Blue Pinoy angelfish :)
@@Roon_GG Makes me sad I can't get them, that tank is crazy with beautiful Angels.

These are my favorite type of videos. Thank you Cory and randy.
The further you connect the air pumps apart also let's them run even quieter. I have two pumps myself for 51 shrimp tanks. Great video

instead of glueing the blue threaded stepper you could use teflon tape and put it on the threads so it can still be backed out

Out of all that I want to know where Randy got that mini mini fridge, great information!
Ive got a small one like that from CocaCola. It plugs into car or house. If interested in it. Im in SC and can ship it.
That seems like a lot of effort when you could have so easily just cut into the existing flexible pvc from the original pump and put a T piece in.

Question; Can I place my piston air pump under my tanks I don't have the space to put higher?
As long as the air loop is higher than the tanks so it can't back siphon.

I am no engineer but I don’t think the pipe needs to be in a loop to have constant pressure.
Should have installed ball valves so you can bypass one to work on it without taking the system offline
