- My very first Enshrouded build! This game is absurdly beautiful... I can't get enough.
This is my official build submission for the #EnshroudedAoW build competition. I cannot wait to see the other submissions. Let me know what you guys think in the comments!

There is no difference. Video games, are interactive art to begin with... some let you add your own pieces to a gallery they built

Haha! New goal every time I start a build in the future: make some stranger spit out their coffee. If I can be responsible for many stained surfaces, I will have left my mark on the world ;)

Okay, I'm absolutely MINDBLOWN with this build, it is GORGEOUS, but I want to comment on something you said around the 11m mark, and that was an apology for talking so much. I may be in the minority here, but I HATE silent build showcases. Tell me why you're excited about your build! Did you do something really creative and unexpected with a material? (Since you talked us through, I KNOW you did!) I'd much rather hear you give the grand tour than watch your avatar bop around in silence for twenty minutes 💜 The build is phenomenal and I'm stoked that you gave an actual tour.

I usually don't like commentary on showcase videos. However, I could listen to Homitu talking for hours. It is so relaxing haha

I understand the silent showcases, however. For some people (myself included) it takes a bit to muster up the courage to REALLY put yourself out there to be judged on the internet, voice and all. It also requires certain equipment to be able to execute properly (like a microphone bar that's buffered from the desk your keyboard is on so it doesn't pick up all the annoying clicks and vibrations.) If the audio quality is terrible, it can ruin an otherwise good video. It's scary and intimidating to do a voice recorded video for the first time!
And then there's the balance of talking and showing that needs to be struck. Too much talking ruins it for many viewers. Too little talking is awkward. And unless you're a public speaker, you're probably going to stumble over words and have a bunch of flubs at different points? Do you edit those out, re-record bits, or live with them? All choices that add time to the video process!
This one was completely unedited (can you tell by fact that I tab out of the game at the end? -- whoops!) I was just exhausted after the build and wanted to get it up. I did it in 1 take. didn't even rewatch it after recording.
Rewatching it now, I can definitely see a few moments I would cut (like, why did I spend a full 2 minutes @8:00 talking about the WORST part of my build; I should have just zipped on by there), or things I would do differently (slower camera movements, hands off the mouse when I'm talking because I have a tendency to twitch around and it's dizzying), or things I should have shown more of or from different angles (I would like to hop up on the roof of the main house on top and really show the intricacies of that roof design, which took me by FAR the longest of any part of the build.)
Anyway, thanks so much again for taking the time to comment! I always look at feedback to help improve future potential videos, so thank you!

Landscaping is so frequently forgotten in player designs, or else done very poorly or unsympathetically. You have some of the best landscaping and interior landscaping ideas I've seen yet. Very impressive.

My initial reaction a few minutes into your video was empathy for all of the other contestants because I was positive that no one else stood a chance against you. I can tell how much effort and time and energy you put into this and I’m sorry the choices of others are bringing up those feelings.
You may not have won the contest but what you created and have done is extremely special and has literally impacted my life and without a doubt the others who have been lucky enough to find your video. Please don’t let this discourage you in any of your creative endeavors moving forward you have a gift.

This has to be my favourite build I've seen so far! All we need are some little butterflies and fairies flying around! Absolutely beautiful
As i finished a stunning build, i went to UA-cam to check other ppl builds, and felt OK about my build... Then... and only then... I came across this build of yours! And man 'o man, this is not only my favorite build of all time, I literally would not EVEN DARE to copycat some of the ideas because I know for a FACT it won't be as good as this. Many of the builds I've seen are just super huge castles - dull castles - i might add, but this is a freakin movie scene! You should win the contest without a doubt. Nothing come close to this amazing art-piece of a build. I felt like I was in an actual world. The flying candles, the secret cave inside the waterfall, the windows that covers the tree near the farmer, then mini-game of jumps. It felt "Nagrandish" for those who played World of Warcraft! MASSIVE Respect to you and the damn hours you've put into this. Thank you!

I'm always shocked whenever someone takes the time to write something so passionately like that because I know people don't do that unless they've really been inspired by what they saw. To think that my work caused that is just crazy to me.
I'm sure your build was amazing (and they'll continue to get better and better!) I really hope seeing my build didn't demoralize you in any way because I've been in your exact shoes. I've built things I was decently proud of years ago, only to hop on youtube and see jaw-dropping builds that were lightyears above my ability. I guess it's pretty cool that others now view my stuff that way - even if I still feel behind the curve compared to many other builders. All we can do is keep improving and incorporating new ideas when we discover them.

I am speechless. It's so beautiful it hurts. I've been dying for them to unlock the build pieces we see around the world but can't use ourselves. Like the wood scaffolding, or the wood pieces in general. There so many items we can't actually use. I want them all.

I can't even conceptualize where one would begin to create something this complex. Not only is it complex, but it is truly SO beautiful. You did such an amazing job. I absolutely wish I could live here amongst the fairies and woodland creatures 😁 definitely the best build in a game I've ever seen.
Oh I remember you!! I was actually wondering since the game came out how you would approach the building in Enshrouded. This is just pure bliss to watch...
Ha! That makes 2 of us as far as wondering how I'd approach Enshrouded building goes haha. It...was a learning curve for sure. A lot of frustration with the controls, a lot of awkwardness of placing pieces in the right spot, a lot of difficulty building platforms to get the right vantage points to work from, a TON of inventory management frustration when it comes to crafting and placing furniture, rather than just building it with your hammer like in Valheim. I built 1 small blacksmith building prior to this, which I felt like should have taken maybe 5 hours, but it took over 20 to get detailed to my liking!

I love Enshrouded, but can only muster a little boxy cottage. I’m so square, it even makes it into what I create (in a world where I could do anything 😂)

I’m actually doing something similar atm in revelwood on top of the tall hill I believe west of the fast travel point. At least setting out to do and just barely started, but my god man this is breathtaking! Truly an inspiration and one I hope to come close to in this endeavor. Fantastic work friend! Simply amazing!

I'll copy/paste what I've responded to elsewhere:
First, competition was BRUTAL! There were a number of AMAZING entries. Several of whom I reached out to only to be surprised to learn they also did not get nominated.
I can't help but wonder if the initial judges didn't really watch my full video because, well, I uploaded a freaking 22min walkthrough (and I was trying to go through as fast as possible! Rewatching, I actually feel like I was rushing too much haha.) I wish Enshrouded had a freefly and free cam mode that allowed me to just take 10-15 sweeping cinematic shots of different sections, which I could have compiled into a 2-3 min video set to music.
Major regrets wondering if I made a bad call with my presentation of the build... alas, live and learn.

Aww thanks so much for the kind words! After experiencing the pressure of the competition deadline, I couldn't imagine doing this professionally under real pressure haha! Definitely a supremely fun and cathartic hobby on the side though!

We for sure need first person to enjoy the builds better, imagine walking through these in first person, as it would look more immersive
Yeah, I desperately want a free camera mode to get more cinematic shots. I know some builders are using Cheat Engine and some custom tables to achieve this, but I can't seem to get them to work properly for me sadly. Very frustrating!

All these details are impressive. The waterfall at night is ridiculously beautiful, agree on nights in this game. Lighting is gorgeous.
How long did this take to build?
Can't wait to get serious about building myself. Still need to unlock most things before I bother. My starter base is a tiny village hugging the cliffside off the first spire. Very simple. But even an uncreative functional base looks amazing in this game. The art style is 100% my thing.
I'm a big nature lover so my first serious build will probably be in the lush forest in the mountains too, trying to make it as green and organic as possible.
Amazing job, man. Good luck with the build competition. I've seen so many beautiful builds, I wouldn't know which one to call the best.

I’ve made some decent medium size builds with a cozy feel to it under some reasonable time and it takes a good amount of work but this is just mind blowing and having some insight on the amount of work and dedication required to build something like this all I can think is “no way I’m doing that” lol much respect to your work bro. Looks great.
Ha! Thanks, dude. Appreciate that. I love when builders comment because I know they understand exactly what this build took to get to where it is.
I will say, as with anything, it does get a little bit faster with practice. But each part does still take a surprising amount of time. As I pushed to finish the necessary parts before the competition deadline, it became obvious I needed to create a project management excel spreadsheet to manage my time spent on each part. I came up with a pretty good 6 Phase system that really helped me focus and stay on track!
