But really I didnt need to learn it because the comptitive battling always is set to lvl 50 which makes it easy because it just becomes base * 1 + 5 = the mimumum stats and you dont need to do the wild base * level * something else or whatever else it was

I’m in the 5th grade and my teacher hasn’t taught us this yet, I had few questions like this on my homework, this helped me complete my homework thank you so much!!!
I always tend to algebraically rewrite the problem such that each term becomes way easier to work with (without the help of calculators or the internet), for example the problem in this video which was 321*57, this can be written as (300+20+1)*(50+7), now just multiply this out and you get: (15000 + 2100 + 1000 + 140 + 50 + 7) = (18100 + 190 + 7) = (18297) which is the answer. The neat thing is that we can do this to ANY mathematical problem, whether it's (1321^2), or (51,25*512,6), (13,5 +/- 12,5%) or something like 72,675% of 8925 which seems impossible without a calculator, but you can do it in your head and it works every time, all you need to do is to either rewrite each term or break the numbers up to smaller components and we can do the computation numerically, sure some problems might take some time and there is quite a lot of arithmetic but as long as we get the correct it's all that we care about. As long as you somewhat fluent in algebra/manipulation numbers and expression it shouldn't be any issues.
After doing a lot of physics math on my calculator for some years I had to come back here to remember the basics to help me with the bigger multiplications in my linear algebra course. The video was simple but after reading your comment it just pleases my physics brain immensly and seems like a much more "adult" way of doing it
