Hey all. I bought this guitar from Todd last year. It's a great guitar and I gig with it regularly. I didn't like the pick up in it and changed it out to an LR Baggs anthem. Also, I recommend stringing these with Marin Mediums!
Hi Todd! Beautiful playing and a beautiful job demo’ing the studio rosewood. I know the video is several years old, but can you characterize the difference in sound between this guitar and the J45 Standard body? Thanks!
Hi Keith, the 2 are quite different because of rosewood vs mahogany, and because of the difference in body depth, the standard being about almost 1" deeper. The rosewood studio has a bit less volume, and a bit more lush overtone complexity. The standard has a bit more volume and drier fundamental mid-range punch. The studio's thinner body is more comfortable. Both are very nice, and both can vary from guitar to guitar. Cheers!
Sounds great. It looks like you had a J-Studio in walnut as well. What differences did you notice between the rosewood and walnut, and which did you prefer? Thank you.
Thanks. Yes I had a couple in walnut, which were both nice except the trebles, high E string notes, were a bit tinny and thin sounding in spots, nice bass and mids though. Rosewood was better overall, fatter tone. Thanks for watching.

I think mahogany sounds better still beautiful guitar
