it was such a surprise. she's also known for her long slow burns too so the fact that she could do the same thing but in shorter form to me shows what a great author she is.
Yes! The Crown of Oaths and Curses! I don't pay attention really to the Goodreads awards, usually I don't vote cause I don't read a lot of traditionally published romances that are listed (contemporary). I am glad to see Romantasy listed this year though. Romance is the largest read genre and it needs more sections: historical, contemporary, indie, and (now) romantasy. We also need a section for LGBTQ and BIPOC authors, specifically - just so we are bringing a spotlight to these authors so readers can find them, especially traditional publishing. Not to mention, Goodreads is watched by the publishing and mainstream media, and that brings money and marketing funds.
Hi. I just binged your videos starting with November releases and I have really enjoyed them. You’ve given me some good book recs that have now come out in November. So thank you for that. During your review of the Paperwhite you mentioned KU being a must and I totally agree! My wife and I share an Amazon account with KU and have had it for years. We love it so much!! Because I’m lazy and haven’t looked through all your videos I would like to ask if you give KU picks and why? Do you ever start a series on KU but maybe some of the books aren’t available on KU do you wait for it to appear or do you buy the book? I usually have so many on my TBR list I can wait for it to appear on KU. I’ve now subscribed and look forward to more great stuff April!! Great videos!
I think the biggest thing is goodreads makes there picks by how many times a book is shelved. So like, if people add it to their “want to read” list. This is why I think traditional publishing gets such a bump in the picks, they have a larger promotion range. It’s truly I think an algorithm issue they’re choosing not to fix.
Yes SIX SCORCHED ROSES was just "let me try is short" and I LOVED IT what was a SURPRISE TO ME! Like that it is talked in booktube. Thank you.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Ode to groveling, 700 pages of begging!

agreed we definitely need more sub categories of romance but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Technically I’m accidentally giving a book points by adding it to my “dnf” shelf too lolol
I agree with you. so if I put a book on a shelf 20 times, that's 20 votes? damn.
haha another oops!
@@happily_ever_april I actually have no idea 👀 more transparency would be nice huh?
I still need to get to jasad heir 😅 yet another arc that I haven’t gotten too oops
haha oops! after reading the synopsis it totally sounds like something I would read.

I don't think so I read that well before my channel.
I don't think Goodreads acknowledges indie books in their awards 😂
I thought I saw some idie published books in there in other categories. I could be wrong though.
