Oh wow, you haven't heard the original Layla?! You MUST. It's iconic. It's also like a different song. Please do it soon.
Some background on the song itself. Layla is actually by Derek and the Dominos which was one of Eric Clapton's bands. It's his song though. Some amazing people joined him on it. Duane Allman was on slide guitar. The song was from 1970 and was about George Harrison's wife, Patti Boyd. George and Eric were good friends, even after George and Patti split and she became Eric's girlfriend! She had a few songs written about her by those two lol! Eric and Patti were finally together 4 years after Layla was written and released. George called Eric his husband in law.

You need to react to the original studio release of Layla - a real banger and totally different from this version. You'll be amazed.

The original Derek and the Dominos version is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. Not that this version is terrible, but it's the kindergarten version of a graduate studies tune.

If you want another masterclass for acoustic guitar from him you should check Old Love Unplugged.
For eletric guitar, you should check:
    - Old love 1992 Mountain View
    - Double Trouble 1995
    - Groaning The Blues
    - Five Long Years
    - I shot The sherriff 2004 (MSG or Crossroads)
    - Edge of Darkness
Besides his 66-70 work that, IMO, is unmatched by any other guitarist to this day

Dan Fogelberg wrote in the song, 'Leader of the Band' the line: "He earned his love through discipline, a thundering velvet hand. His gentle means of sculpting souls took me years to understand". It was in regard to his father, but I can't help but think of the "thundering velvet hand' part of that line when I hear Eric Clapton's guitar playing. I don't recall, have you done the Derek and the Dominos version of 'Layla'? Coincidentally, that was when Eric (Derek) was leader of that band!😲😏 If you haven't, here 'tis! ua-cam.com/video/5dCSUD37qxQ/v-deo.htmlsi=8pZ_Kh9t6-WtKmQk

Crossroads at Royal Albert Hall reunion shows. The original from 1968 is good as it has part where Clapton looses track of the progression and they land on their feet. It’s like a high wire act where Walker loses balance and regains it.

Bro I am not joking when I say that both cemetery gates and floods by pantera are 2 of the most life changing songs by Pantera.

Dude, you are great and I really like how you almost fall out of the chair at times., So, 99.99999% of the time, it is a mistake for a reactor to do the "live" version of a song. That's because the same percentage of us who LOVE that song first heard that version and then listened to it a thousand million times on the radio as we melted that version into our brains and souls and can lip sync it perfectly as we air guitar it and then do our pretend drums. I even feel a bit cheated when I go to a concert and hear the original artist "re-invent" one of their songs with some new tempo or something. I know they are older and their voice has changed and they don't get a hundred studio takes or have 20 mixers to make it a perfect wall of sound, but I live with that because I wanted to see them in person.
I saw you react to Boston More Than a Feeling and I know it looked live bit it was dubbed and it was perfect and you know that because I saw your reaction to the entire collection of studio versions from that album and you almost couldn't control yourself. I think I saw that you had to stand at one point and circle your chair in dis-belief at what you were hearing. Janis Joplin's Cry Baby is out there in a live version and it just isn't the same - go see - I'm POSITIVE that you won't be jumping out of your chair like you did in that one which was great - go watch yourself again. Same for Sultan's of Swing - the live version left me with a cheated feeling. SO many more examples
So, stick to the original official studio/radio release. You will probably find some that have the singer but with the original soundtrack dubbed over it and it may take the help of a friend to prove that out so that it will still be a first time surprise to you. Both you and your audience will be thankful.
And lastly, thank you thank you thank you for not having any Bieber on here. You and everyone out there understand what I mean.

Looking at the type of music on your channel you should really check out The Big Push, especially their I shot the sheriff/road to Zion cover (the one with the red suspenders thumbnail) and then Ren who is in that band, his solo stuff from there. I think you will enjoy a lot of what he/they do

Layla is a GREAT song that is written about a real life situation that is fascinating and heartbreaking. That said, it's called Layla because it's based on characters from an ancient "Romeo and Juliet" type of story that is equally fascinating and heartbreaking. WIth that kind of passion and emotion behind the lyrics and music, it is a shame that this version of the song became so popular. TO ME, the most worthwhile aspect of the song is that you can hear the desperation and pain in the original whereas the unplugged version is a bluesy bath in lukewarm water...losing every bit of emotion, passion, and that which made the original a mainstay for generations. I love Layla...but this version makes me angry.

Nice. Although you lost me when you started promoting yourself as an acoustic guitarist. You play some great Clapton and then say that? Liked you better when you were reacting to great songs and not feeling yourself so much. Be humble dude.
