The thing is Warden . You see the smile. It makes the whole day good. Same with my wife. Vacation I see that smile. I know I am good. Thanks for taking us along.
Hey Bud. Nice coin. When I went to Maui I bought the Maui trade dollars on both trips. You'll enjoy the memories that coin will bring back. Have a good one.
I love the Wild Bunch photo! That was awesome! I love those kinds of pics. Been trying to talk my husband into us getting one taken like that... for years. Lol. My husbands that guy with a purse also. Lol Growing up in Colorado we never had air conditioning. Opened the windows and our house seemed to have a nice enough cross breeze that we really didn't need air conditioning. Even when it was over 100⁰ (that was rare). The dry climate helps, won't live without it here in Michigan.
Immediately recognized the Starbucks in Idaho Springs. Years ago stopped there with my family before driving up to Mt. Evan's all the way, over 14,000 feet. Thanks for bringing back memories man.
That is the country I moved rigs in. Some real cool views. Sometimes I miss it but I could not truck like those days. Some of the moves were really dangerous. Money was good. Wish I still had some of it lol. Oil patch, boom or bust. Y'all will have good memories. Be safe and havagudun.
Ok, Schmidt when you showed the picture of the wild bunch I had to pause the video, and just chuckle, you are one great dad. My wife I hope to visit that area in September. Thanks for sharing.
Yes Estes Park is CRAZY all summer. I'm 54 years old and have been going there since I was a little kid, although I haven't been since 2013 when they had the big flood. Funny I even bought Chief's stuff when I was in Mexico in January.
back in 1978 we went to the YMCA for a wrestling camp(top of the world). My Uncle had a really old grocery store on the main strip a block over they had a gondola that went up the hill and across the street there was a put put golf course. OMG that was 43 years ago. Wow have times changed.
Absolutely beautiful. I love the mountains? Those old time photos are so fun! A few ideas for your next visit to Colorado. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the Denver museum of Nature & Science, Cripple Creek is a collection little town with a lot of history, Mesa Verde National Park, Dinosaur National Monument. Thanks again for sharing your vacation.
That town is biggest tourist trap , traffic bad most of time, even going to park cost lot , but its there to enjoy and looks like you all are , enjoy and God bless
Enjoyed your comments at the beginning of the video about changing your plans to drive up the mountain because Warden would not have enjoyed the ride. Good decision. In yesterday’s video I saw the exit sign for Loveland Pass. It’s been over 30 years ago I took my wife over the pass in our 1982 Olds Delta 88 diesel. Lots of black smoke as the engine gasped for air at the top and my wife having a panic attack in the seat beside me. Still haven’t been forgiven for taking that route.
Forgot about this. While you were down south, you should have gone to Cripple Creek and done the tour of the Molly Elizabeth gold mine. It's a working underground mine. They mine it in the winter and the miners give tours in the summer.
Reminded us of Galena ILLINOIS, have y’all ever been there? Nice scenery there. I would love to go to the rockies, very pretty town and a great video. Would have been funny if others joined in on the macarania dance, I definitely would have. Those coins are awesome, I am a collector so yeah I like them. Thanks for the great video and stay safe
As a Coloradoan, yes we do have air conditioning. We just keep them hidden from out of towner's lol. But actually, the air is usually cooler in the mountains. Hence why you don't see them in the higher elevation towns.
When gambling was legalized in Colorado in the early nineties. Central City told the casinos "you can build here, but you're not going to destroy historic structures" Blackhawk didn't have the problem, so if you are into historical buildings Central City is the place. Yes Estes Park is busy, people are trying to get into Rocky Mountain National Park before they start timing people. It also gets crazy in fall during the Elk rut which really draws the people in.
Try being there on a weekend it's slot more people and traffic. The Mexican restaurant that you ate at if it was the one with the outside balcony on too of the building we go there every time we visit Estes on the bike.
"Old Time photos", l thought it was too expensive when l visited Orlando, FL many moons ago (29 yrs.) with my girlfriend and her 2 girls to do one of those portraits, and now wish l'd done that anyway. A true family portrait that would of been a hoot back then and today...
Great video by all. Looks like another fun day for everyone The only place "so far" that I can find homemade taffy is on the Oregon coast. I 'll try to narrow my search down and let you know if I find some closer to home. What flavor do you like ? I love it as well.
Hey Kurt, I really like your trip but, I would could meet you hopefully soon, that would be nice right now so, your daughter and son is cool people right? I really like the store's that showed me, WOW! I really like opie he is funny dog 🐶 and I hope to meet you hopefully soon because I had two strokes, so hope to see you in the big truck okay? God bless you Sincerely in Christ Mike McClure From Southern Maryland
got up this morning made my cup of coffee, there was a deer bedded down in our backyard. (black tail). just beginning to show its antlers, they were about the size of a marshmallow.
Mt Evans is amazing... you won't have to drive all he way up to 14,000 ft to enjoy amazing views. about 3/4 way up there is a lake, and you walk behind the lake and enjoy an amazing view. I used to live there and drive up several times a year. If warden can handle the park, she'll be able to handle 3/4 up Mt Evans... honest.
My wife and I usually attend a quilt show near Bend Oregon every July and a two night stay is $800. plus taxes. We won't be going this year. So ridiculous.
You are so sweet for always thinking of your family first. Memories for a lifetime. God bless.
The thing is Warden

I'm soo happy that you are having a fun time in Colorado.
You was not that far from a place called Black Hawk Colorado.
back in 1978 we went to the YMCA for a wrestling camp(top of the world). My Uncle had a really old grocery store on the main strip a block over they had a gondola that went up the hill and across the street there was a put put golf course. OMG that was 43 years ago. Wow have times changed.
The best part of estes park is not the town itself, it's the parks and roads around it. The town itself, yeah major tourist trap. Loved that photo!
it is crazy all the time
Your children so cute
Be careful on the mountains, stay safe n enjoy your vacation

That picture of you guys is hilarious 😂, good choice Kurt , working for points 👍👍stay safe thanks for sharing
funny about those wilde west photo's. I use to see those booths all the time at the fairs.
😯 taffy
Idaho Springs is where I use to live. My dad was a lieutenant with the Clear Creek sheriff's department there.
They have taffy in Keystone,S.D.made fresh every day.
Love that store! Watching them through the window making it fresh every day! Then hop on the 1880 train and enjoy the taffy and scenery.

Funny, as soon as you pulled into central city, I thought to myself that it looked like Deadwood SD. And then Warden said it.
A tour guide with a mask.. yep you are in Colorado!
Your Dad will be so happy and you have grant time tomorrow just don't bring snow back with you. From Kitchener Ontario
Kurt, I love the picture.
Hey Rocky, you finally got to see Bullwinkle!!! See what I did there Squirrel?!?! 🤣

The photograph really looks like a bunch of "bad folks", it was funny.
👍
As many times as you’ve washed that dually I’m surprised it still has paint on it😂🤷
If he washes it enough times it will turn into a Ram 2500.
@@deke441 but then it will automatically have electrical problems. LOL
LOOK WARDEN CALLED ME and said you paying more attention to the truck more then her .lol
😂 they were trying to get the cop to dance
got up this morning made my cup of coffee, there was a deer bedded down in our backyard. (black tail). just beginning to show its antlers, they were about the size of a marshmallow.
Kurt, there's nothing wrong with your Truck that often!. Stay Safe have fun ?
The tall sticks on the reflectors are for the snowplow crew so they know where the edge of the road is when they go to open it in the spring
Next year. You need to go to Canafda. Bamph. Candian Rockies
$13.29 for a bag of Taffy? WOW..yea I would leave empty-handed too.
First class is going to be jealous of all the baths and attention money pit is getting. 😂😂
I was thinking the same thing lol.
Yes Estes Park is always crowded it’s at the foot of Rocky Mountain 🏔 NP. Did you get any fudge 🤓
"Schmidt. Hey can wire help me wire Firrst Class?"
I can't afford this place. Beautiful though!
Ah the purse. Lol
It always sucks when you're getting close to the end of your vacation
You have an obsession with a clean vehicle, but there are worse obsessions 😅🤣😅😆
Awesome photo of you guys and gals. It wouldn’t be called a vacation unless you open your wallet Kurt. You are a lot like me always washing my truck 😎
I freaked a guy out in Deadwood SD when I supplied my own REAL .45 Colt and Winchester coach gun.. Great pic tho
What is with the obession of washing that old pick up truck,??? Curious.

I believe that's what that Mexican chupacabra eat
The time to see the elk in Estes Park is in October when they come down and take over the golf course.
