I like to see young people in teaching roles. He has a good manner, clear speaking voice, and comes across well.
Hi Dawn
The Electro cleaning step helps to clean the surface by breaking down dirt and oils, something acid doesn’t always do. The hydrogen bubbles that form on the surface of the metal will also preform a scrubbing action. Which really helps clean the metal.
I hope this is of some help.

I dont see anywhere that you can purchase the electro cleaner he is using?
Do you have to reheat the solution every time you use it?
Would an ultrasonic cleaner work instead of the electrocleaner?
Thank
Hi! I read that it's ok to use on pieces with stones, does that include opals and other fragile stones?
is this a one time use per bottle?
How long does the coating last?
Thank's for you video
You are most welcome!
How do you dispose of the chemicals when done? Seems like a lot of work for one piece.
The piece remains conductive or coating creates thin film?
Saludos!
Que usas desde hace 10 años?...
Hi Delores. You can use repeatedly for several months or until the solution is depleted.
I hope this is of some help.

Only fir silver jewelry?
Hi Matt, Great question! Anti-Tarnish Protective Solution can be used on silver, silver-plated, gold and gold-plated jewelry. More information can be found about the product in the link in description. Hope this helps!
No, también en oro y otros metales que no son necesariamente de plata
Is it safe to use on pieces with stones already set? Also, should pieces be dipped every so often or just once, barring any polishing or pickling from repairs etc.?
Hi Sue, Thanks for asking. Yes, you can use the Silver Glory on pieces with stones already set. It will coat the pieces as well, but it won’t hurt the stones. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your reply. Another question is when I want to reuse the solution, does it need to be reheated or is it ready for use at room temperature? Thanks!
Hello Sue! You can use Silver Glory for approximately three months of continuous use in the same bath. Replace Silver Glory when it starts to get dirty, or turns milky or yellow. Regarding the working temp, and this is the same for plated and non-plated jewelry items:
Dip work pieces into the Silver Glory® solution for 3 to 5 minutes with some agitation. Remember to keep the working temperature at 68°-86°F (20°- 30°C); never allow the solution to get hotter than 100°F (38°C).
Hope this helps!
Is this a fairly tough coat? Is the time in Silver Glory proportionate to the thickness and durability, or is there just a minimum time to achieve a coating?it this an Al-ceramic coating?
How do you re-heat the solution? Do I have to do the process with the cloth all over again and throw away the old solution?
You could heat the solution to the recommended 86°F with a heated stand like this www.riogrande.com/product/magnetic-stirring-system-with-heated-stand/335210GP/?code=335210 or use a stove to gently heat it to the recommended temperature. The solution is reusable after activating the cloth with boiling water.
Hi , This solution is it a resistant to examine in 2% K2S solution?
Hello there, Thank you for asking. No, this will not act like a resist. Hope this helps!
Can this work with base metals such as copper and brass?
Hi Casssandra, You can use the silver glory on base metals.
Base metals do oxidize much more quickly so it may not protect for as long of a time but you will find that the items tarnish much more slowly than without. Hope this helps & thanks for watching!
No en latón, porque es un metal muy oxidable. Para latón se necesita una laca y un curado con horno.
Rio Grande how long does the protection typically last on silver? Also copper?
Can I use it for gold filled connectors?
Yes, this should also work on gold-filled since it works on gold.
@@RioGrande1944 awesome! How long the protective layer last?
@@reemsaffar870 That depends on how frequently it's worn, how it's stored, local climate (things tarnish a lot faster on the coasts or in humidity). We can't make much of a determination because the wear and tear is so unique.
You maked the solution with bolied water and then mix with which solution
Hi Rudra, thank you for your question. Yes, you'd mix boiling water inside the Silver Glory bottle. The water will activate the impregnated cloth that inside. Hope this helps, and have a great day.
Do you throw the solution away each time them refill the bottle with water each time or do you pour the solution back into the bottle ?
Hi Paul, Great question. Yes, you can pour the activated solution back in the bottle and it will be good for approximately three months, unless it starts to turn yellow before that time.
Hope this helps!
Hi, do you have to reheat the liquid in the bottle (once stored) when you want to use it again? What method recommended to reheat?
Does it harm our health bro ?
Is this a single use bottle?????
No, you can keep using the Silver Glory until the coating is depleted or the solution turns a yellow color.
Do either the acid or the electrocleaning solution have an effect on gemstones?
Hello, and thanks for asking. You can use the Silver Glory on pieces with stones already set. It will coat the pieces as well, but it won’t hurt the stones. Hope this helps!
@@RioGrande1944 even PEARLS?!
@@hkmjewelry yeah! Even pearls and more! Use it
Do you need to reheat the solution when you reuse it? If so, how?
Hi Lynn - You do not need to reheat the solution after mixing. Working temperature for Silver Glory is 68°-86°F. With cleaning, the important aspect is that the piece you’re dipping is as clean as possible. Any dirt, grease, blemishes, etc. will be sealed under the surface after dipping and drying. To answer your other question, the electrocleaner is one of the more thorough methods for cleaning a piece of jewelry but you can use the cleaning method you wish. We hope this helps you out!
@@RioGrande1944 Thanks so much! Very helpful!
Hi can I use the a no name patina prep powder to clean the piece instead of the machine?
Yes! You can.
So how can you do this at home? I don't have that machine you used. Is it needed?
Hi There! Thanks for asking. Here are the instructions for use of this product. Hope this helps! www.riogrande.com/content/silver-glory-ht-jpg
What is the solution used to electro clear and what volts and how do i do it
Electrocleaner solution at 5.8 volts, 30 seconds to a minute heated to 140 degrees, using a stainless steel anode, no heat for base metal. www.riogrande.com/product/midas-electrocleaner-solution-mix/335156. We hope this helps!
Is electro clear safe for big Sterling pieces?
Hi there - Yes it is, but it is all relative. How big?
How i contact you??

Can it be used on jewelries with patina?
