I like cubans footwork. Notice how he always makes sure that he doesnt attack straight in. He always picks angle. He mostly circles to left but sometimes he changes to southpaw to circle to the right. Very interesting stufd.

Silverstar that's absolutely correct! A guy who had around 300 amateur bouts and only lost two(both which he went on to beat) is a crazy stat! Guy is a beast. I love watching his footwork
Not only the footwork, the variations they use throwing jabs/cross/uppercuts/hooks together with the footwork made me fall in love with Cuban boxing style!
@@acetofresh1 lol so was Rigondeaux when he fought Lomachenko , he had to go 2 divisions up to fight Loma because nobody at his weight wanted to face him , that's why he lost that fight .

Both are great fighters! They have fantastic defence skills, distance feeling, footwork (especially Cruz), power jab (especially Davis). Both will be superb pros!

Back rewatching this now that Cruz has joined the pro ranks. He proved himself to be a great amature boxer so I'm really excited to see how he does as a professional. Would love to see him and Keyshawn match up again.

This was a very tough match to score. I had the American winning but I can't argue with this call. Both fighters have a lot of skill. Let me say this. The American and the Cuban fighters are not what they were in the 70, 80, or 90s. Great tech fight guys. You both should be very proud of your selves.

Pan American games 2019 he wobbled Davis and had him holding because he was on Queer Street. 2020 Olympics badly hurt Wasserman and Garside had them almost out on their feet. Roniel Iglesias dropped and wobbled 1 Seed Pat McCormack. Cuban beef and raised Reyes KO Vassiliy Levit former silver medalist. Julio La Cruz hurt Ochola and Gardzhimagomedov in their fight. This pitty Patis a myth. Cubans just vary their punch levels and power. It’s called having IQ. Keyshawn throws punches the same way everytime, and he’s a bit one dimensional with his boxing skills. He can’t adapt on the fly. He’s a great fighter though.

Saw them fight in Lima live, Keyshawn has a great 1-2 which he used in that fight, now it seems he wanted to try to outbox Cruz, try to limit the exchanges, either way he fell a tad bit short. Cruz is 1 step ahead, but Keyshawn is still young and can learn plenty.

@@P4p775 USA amatuer boxing is probably a bit below the best, but their style most of the time transitions better to the pros. I wouldn't really say they suck though, Mexican amatuer boxing sucks and someone who never even trained amatuer like Salido whooped your p4p fighter.

@@joystickcasaa8148 That fight was a robbery, and to be honest the best amateurs rarely go pro these days. Salido was 20 pounds overweight and low blowed endlessly. Mexican style is usually overrated see what the slick fighters tend to do with them and pick em apart. USA amateur is much below best at this point in time. Our fighters and trainers have declined.

@@uchennasunday7037 He moreso had combinations with average power, but solid speed and timing. True power you don't lose, he usually overwhelmed guys and the ref stopped it. Which one is the next floyd, because Cruz Gomez definitely has power. He made Davis buckle in one of their 3 matchups, and hurts his opponents. Only casuals call any decent athlete the next so and so.

Am I right in saying Cruz neutralized that American style that we keep seeing from the likes of Davis, and even guys who came up (or trained in) from Mayweather gym like Devin Hanley? That flicking jab that usually works on a lot of opponents seemed to have no effect on Cruz.

Cubans are banned from being pro... only the few who have managed to escape have gone pro and by that time they are a fair bit older.
They are programmed to be amateurs. Take them out of Cuba early and we'll see. Most who defect to the USA are already old.

The Footwork and The Jab is the key.. With no Foot Work and good Jab it will be hard to be the World Champion, But if you have So much Power, unlimited Stamina and Strength you might have won the World Title, just like Deontay Wilder.. But its so rare in Boxing to have the Physigue, One Punch KO Power, Strength and unlimited Stamina like Wilder.. Wilder dont have the Footwork and Jab, but he got the special Power and so much much Strength, but wilder too was exposed by Tyson Fury.. So you need to have good Foot work and Jabit will give you so much advantages in fight..

Davis wasn't robbed, right guy won. Cruz was sharper, landed the crisper shots and was dictating pace.
Davis needs to fix his stance ASAP, That wide stance effects his mobility greatly & he drags his back that will lead to him having injuries in the future
