AND the absolute madlad went ahead and built an Archery stand, a stables, a barracks and all the other stuff, too. ow we just need lamplighter thralls patroling the little town x'D Exceptional work, mate! Very well done!
I have watched your channel for a while now, but it was finally this build that made me say, “Yes, I need to subscribe.” These kinds of builds are what I love... medieval time period builds that make sense, are small, practical and simple (just as they would have been back then. (Well, unless you were of higher standing than just peasant or something)
@@DrB048 I just remembered this too; The AoE2 Asian Universities. They had a water feature. So in using the pillar and ceiling construction you'd easily be able to build a deck over any of the streams in the game too. You just might have to use a few other features to make it look more like a garden.
So which AOE2 building are you gonna do next? I think Archery range would be interesting cause it has that hexagonal tower attached to the main building. the Blacksmith might make a nice PVE single player home.
Good question! I was thinking of doing a video covering the 3 house variants and then blacksmith after that. I do have the archery range posted, the tower is a bit modified.
Hello Barden, I have a little challenge for you. Would it be possible for you to show us how you would make a pet store in the vicinity of the G9 box on the land of the exiles?
I believe there was an AI trick about laying down a certain amount of foundations tells the AI that you are setting up camp and the game is supposed to send waves of enemies.
Lack of foundations will confuse the AI Purge, but more importantly Foundation pieces cause excessive CPU load on multiplayer servers. Some server post rules to no use them when possible and use methods like this.
Hey as mentioned by Wade, pillars and ceilings can be a good anti purge. It also helps with server lag as a lot of foundations can make a server unstable. Also from a building aspect, you can do a lot more with pillars and ceilings than you can with foundations. As an example, you can place pillars on the corners of the structure and run them into the ground for stability, whereas foundations will prevent the pillar placement. Once you get comfortable building with pillars and ceilings, you never go back to foundations lol.
@@DrB048 I may check that out then. I was around at launch but never really bothered with using pillers as a replacement for foundations. I do like having pillers on the corners though.
really looking for someone to do a simple village build using AoC and emberlight as a baseline thats easy to design and follow for people that are not great builders please

OMG, this is beautiful
You were right, this one will amaze me even more than the other!
Would love to see a whole series of AoE buildings
I am slowly getting there
DUDE, the amount of nostalgia flooding my mind right now was fucking awesome. Seeing this made me want to build this IRL. lol
These AOE builds are some of my favorite ones I've done so far.

The arena stair are really cool, I should use them more often
Agreed, the only build set that includes inverted corner stairs.
@@DrB048 yeah, though the only set that doesn't have sloped walls lol
Edit: also what is that armor you're wearing?
@@s8theninjawarrior916 It's the trade off lol. Armor im wearing is the silent legion medium armor. I dyed it dark greys.
@@DrB048 really? Did they change the design or am I just stupid? I remember the chest piece being a full plated armor
@@s8theninjawarrior916 Yeah that's for the heavy set, this is the medium set I was wearing.

A pet store, I like the idea. I don't think I've ever thought of that one yet. I already got some ideas!
Question: Why use pillers and not foundations? Also, cool build. ;-)

what are those floating hands doing there? :D

I like the simple village idea, just without the mods :p
@@DrB048 understandable and either way is fine if it can be done with large enough spaces to involve use of AoC profession items would be awesome
