Payal I usually don't comment on vlogs but I do watch them. I could not keep myself from commenting on this one as it is regarding Indian American neighbors. I live in a community which is 50/50 Indians (immigrants) and Americans. I am an immigrant myself, but I moved here in US when I was 16 years old with my parents. I can neither mingle with the immigrants Indians, nor the American Indians as I am not considered either of them. I want to, and have been trying all these years (I am 40 now), but only faced with negativity or rejection. And here I am who loves desi food, and also American food. I speak, read, and write Hindi, Bengali, and English fluently. I am raising my two kids with values from both the cultures. And yet I am judged and excluded from communities based on my background. What I am trying to say is that I understand where you're coming from when you feel you want to connect with those who share the same values and interests as you, but maybe try finding some similarities in your neighbors that you can connect with, instead of rejecting them right away just coz they don't speak Hindi, or don't like the food you all eat. You have been living in the US for so many year, I am sure there is something good in this country that you can relate to and maybe would let you accept the people of the country you have been living in for so long. Instead of being disappointed in them? That's my two cents. But I guess, accepting others differences is too difficult no matter where you live.
Very sweet of you to entertain neighbors who invited themselves over even though you have just moved. They should have invited you over, but don’t worry, Rai is seeing what you are doing and she will pick up on your good manners. But as you know, after living in this country for so long, everyone is not like that even if they are of Indian origin, so you, according to our culture, showed very good hospitality, and offered them a lovely spread to enjoy! If nothing else, you got practice in entertaining in your new house. ❤
Payal, I understand your feelings. I have been living in UK for past 22 years. British Indians don't mingle very closely with us Desis. Nothing wrong on their part, we just vibe differently. Getting good neighbours that we connect with is a blessing, one has to be very lucky. Nowadays as long as you have pleasing neighbours who are not unpleasant itself is enough..You did amazing, I should feel so honoured if my neighbour prepares this much when I visit. You did great.
Paint your dinning chair with light color chalk paint and use light placemats on dinning. On sofa use light color pillow covers and throw blanket to break the darkness of brown color
It’s very funny thing that we, Indians, try to get mixed up in the crowd & forget that even if we get any other country citizenship, we’ll still be Indians forever. I, myself have been living in abroad since almost 10 years now, have met so many Indians who actually don’t even like being called Indians.
Please ,Dining table change mat karna ,Dining table is very beautiful, and gives a royal look, yes , it's dark but why you change the Dining table, you change the table colors looking totally new ❤
Your dining table is magnificent. You can just sand it and give a light wood polish instead of buying a new one. But I feel it looks perfect as it is now. Dark wood gives a more expensive look.
Don’t feel bad, but it seems like you might be disappointed that your neighbours are American Indians. It’s possible that the way you connect with each other is different, but try to see this as an opportunity to learn from each other and expand your perspectives
Please don't judge people based on how less indian they are or if they don't know hindi. It's okay that not everyone would look at things the same way that you do. This is the beauty of this country that welcomes immigrants with open arms!

I have more or else same dinning but a bit littler .. you can add a big Costco rug which is lighter color and it will gve a illusion of lighter area ❤️ table runner mat can be white offwhite or grey and if looking for runner then golden .
I was going to suggest the same. As lighter rug and table runner will provide enough contrast. I love the wood tone of the table and floors. It is also very good quality and hard to find these days, or you pay a premium price
Payal, either Orange or orchid flowers will look good on your dining table ! One more thing , I want to tell you as a friend is that dark circles under eyes is related to insulin resistance n big bags under eyes is related to sluggish kidneys ! You can apply potato juice under eyes, for 20 mts. Wash n apply moisturiser, can also rub ice under your eyes ! Potato juice acts like a natural bleach !
