Some would say that were someway too serious for an anime/manga about racing, but they can go fuck themselves, such a thing can only be said by someone without head or heart. Pretty much, Rin miscalculated his tire and brake wear because Ryosuke survived way longer than he expected. Also, a heavy, 4WD, 650hp Skyline GT-R on a downhill wouldn't exactly be friendly to its tires and brakes.
