    i just put similar subgenre tracks i think will fit together in my doubles then try each one out and plan the setlist that way, yes my sets are planned out start to finish now but I noticed that has the best experience for the listener in my experience. Another thing is play more niche tracks or tracks people do not know about, that tends to remove the predictability aspect. It's why i play oldschool dnb sets nowadays

    Thank you so much for this an all your other videos! It's truly amazing how much effort you put in these and I think everybody, doesn't matter if beginner or professional DJ, can learn from you! I bought my first controller about a year ago and your videos helped me A LOT!
    Greetings from 🇨🇭

    I read the email before coming to this vid and gotta say, this vid was great! Some of the metaphors caught me off guard but definitely NOT GIBBERISH. Very good tips and inspiration to start tackling my mess of a DJ library. Much love Chris and TY

    I love the explanation of the thought process on this, it’s exactly what I do pick where I want to be have landmarks I want to visit and start as far away from the end as I can to create a journey, one thing I do always say you should be prepared to throw that plan away a goo completely to winging it if the crowds not feeling it which is why when people debate over weather to plan or wing sets my view is always, get you a dj that can do both.

    Penelope. My genres actually prefer a little predictability.

    I received a Playlist for a small Venue in a PDF file so I'm wondering if there another was that I can sort this playlist without looking up each song individually .

    Not related to this video tbh but have you found a way to disable the key sync button? My oafish hands occasionally brush it without me realising. Sounds terrible with Dnb 😂

    Hi Chris,
    Great video. I've always approached my sets in a Penelope style, but the Jimmy way sounds so refreshing. Cool I'll give it a try.
    Carl Cox is one of my main inspirations, he plays such great variety (except on the main stage events), so I started moving through varieties of genres in one mix and love it to this day (48).

    How do you make a playlist but youre going b2b?

    • @chrisbarag
      @chrisbarag 5 місяців тому

      Reach out to the other DJ and chat about the energy or style of tracks you'd both like to play that gig and find some common ground. Create a pool of tracks based on the style and energy you agree upon, and during the B2B, if the tracks in your pool match the style and energy of your partner's, you'll both do great!

    I’m DJing a boat party and number 2 on the line up. I want the vibes to be groovy & the energy to be high…should I play tech house? ☠️ It’s a prog house & Melodic house crowd.

    Normally your vids are good. But this one...Either follow your dream of standup comedy, or give useful info in an easy format.
    This was way too manic for me. And aomewhat stressful to watch.
