I have had mine for about 3 months. Exact same color. I have to stare at it for a few minutes before I play it. Such a gorgeous guitar. Love the Wolfgang’s.
I had this guitar on backorder for months. It finally arrived a couple months ago. I absolutely love this guitar. I must have 20 solid body electrics. This is the one I bonded with.
Don't Tell (What Love Can Do) is one of my favorites riffs off the Balance album. It's heavy and right in your face. Eddie and Sammy combined together were great overall song writers
Don't tell me what love can do. Third track off Balance. Great album! They were promoting that album the one time I saw them on tour. I refused to see them after Sammy. That is just me, though.
this looks amazing and I love these and have owned a USA and a few of the specials. No matter what you will never get that D tuna in tune. Will always require a fine tuning to get spot on. Yes I know how to set the screw on the side its the reason I always end up selling them but Im a sucker for this shape and those pickups
Got a question im looking at this evh model vs the charvel Jim root edition at about $350 more ,I know this may cause a conflict of interest but which one would you recommend for a great super strat if you had to choose one
I would definintely choose the EVH if nothing but for the pickups alone. I had a nice Charvel San Dimas with Seymour Duncans but I like these Wolfgang pickups way better (the Mexican and USA versions). They seem to be more articulate and clean up GREAT when you roll off the volume. However, if you have large hands, you may want to stick with the Charvel. The Wolfgang neck will feel better for smaller to medium sized hands. Worth mentioning, if you have larger hands but still want to try an EVH guitar, the EVH 5150 neck is slightly larger than the Wolfgang neck. The 5150 neck feels more like the Charvel neck. Both EVH necks feel great, but I just wanted to mention this for those who are particular about neck shapes and profiles - the two necks are a little different.
It may indeed be the best looking of that model but to me the shape is all wrong especially that weird tiny withered hand like headstock. Good review though!
I still remember seeing the video for Don't Tell Me and being shocked at two things - Eddie's new haircut, and the guitar he was holding. I coveted the old Peavey EVH's for that crazy Floyd Rose with the drop D ability, and now under Fender's banner, I still covet them. Still unsure about that haircut though.
Don't Tell Me, good old Balance album 😁 But damn this is a nice guitar! D-Tuna on a Floyd Rose is something else! The colour and presentation alone is tempting, but the tone 🤘✊️
There are a lot of big differences but the bass high-gain tone should be achievable. No reason you couldn't save up for a while and pick up a Wolfgang Standard though.
@@Punkrocket8 The standard isnt $1k. You can get them for $500! I understand that's still not "cheap" but it's definitely attainable with a bit of saving!
Loved your demo. You're a pretty humble guy for saying you haven't warmed up before recording. Very good playing off the cuff. The second I saw this guitar when it was announced, I wanted one and new I had to have one. I've been waiting for one like this since the first run of production EVH guitars had the Wolfgang Standard with a purple fade to black. By the time I could purchase one, they discontinued that model and didn't have any left, (they = Sweetwater) because it was the most popular color. I did end up getting a cherry sunburst curly maple finish that is beautiful and plays like a dream. At the time the price was $499, they are now $799 thanks to Biden's inflation that he said he didn't create. Even at the $799 price, it's a great guitar because I do think they are building them even better. I also have a Frankie; which is an amazing guitar, and I love every second it's in my hands. My third EVH guitar is a Wolfgang Special that is a Royal Blue Sparkle finish with a maple neck. This is my main, or #1 guitar. I love this one also. They are all so very comfortable and sound amazing!!! I've been spending most of my $$$ building up my very modest recording studio, this purple EVH Wolfgang Special is likely next on my list of guitar purchases. I've been also looking at an Epiphone Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axis with a Floyd Rose that I want very bad because those guitars are usually gone before they even go into production. You can reserve one now, but who knows what's if they are gaining to produce anything beyond the production reservations. The last time they did this with an Alex Lifeson Signature they were gone before the marketing was released. The street price was, I think, $799. But now, if you can find them used, they are anywhere from $1,500 to 2,500 on Reverb and Ebay. But they are hard to find. Also, EVH is unpredictable as to how long some guitars will stay in their production cycle. The purple sparkle Wolfgang Special had been around for a long time; which is good because I want one of those too. But the Blue Sparkle Wolfgang Special wasn't around very long. As a matter of fact, I got the last one from Sweetwater's allocation, and I was lucky. For me, there is way too much gear i want (especially guitars) and not enough money. Maybe I need to start my own UA-cam channel reviewing gear to make a little extra coin to get what I would like. We'll see. Thanks for the video! It was great watching this particular guitar in action.
Rips off people faces with crazy licks and then apologise for not warming up before, this guy’s a legend 😂
I have had mine for about 3 months. Exact same color. I have to stare at it for a few minutes before I play it. Such a gorgeous guitar. Love the Wolfgang’s.
Does yours have any discoloration in the purple finish? Just recvd mine from PMT and is has two orangey longitudinal stripes?
@@stinger2k2 negative. It was perfect out of the box
Purple (Tick), Lovely quiltiness (Tick), De-Tuner (Tick) with gold hardware and insane pickups (Bang On). Very nice🤌🏻

Brilliant as always Dagan. Just bought my third WG standard and owned two specials but now tempted with this purple 🤘😊
Riff at the start was Dont Tell Me 🤘🔥
Yeah, we all know
Absolutely legendary, truly.
The guitar looks and sounds great too!
Excellent playing 💯 awesome ❤

❤EVH Gear! Balance is the pinnacle of Ed’s tone as far as I’m concerned. Great playing as usual Dagan!🔥
I'm not really looking to buy evh gear, but I watch every evh video dagan does because I LOVE his playing when he's copping an Eddie tone.
What a beautiful guitar. Would match my purple 5150 nicely. It will be mine.
Do they do a purple 5150?
Yes, the EVH 5150 Deluxe. Comes with the kill switch button. Awesome guitar!
@q3426 I've got the neon pink one, that is great so maybe the purple one would be good 👍
Hello Dagan, thanks so mutch !! Fantastic and biutifull guitar !!!!! Bye from Belgium.
Mate that guitar suits so much !!
Don’t tell me (what love can do) honestly one of my favorites off balance
Now that is one beautiful wolfie Dagan, sounds outstanding bro. My dream guitar is to have a Wolfie & string.
Nice to hear some Balance era riffs
Don't tell me what love can do. Third track off Balance. Great album! They were promoting that album the one time I saw them on tour. I refused to see them after Sammy. That is just me, though.
I'm a huge fan of maped bakle fingerboards!
You had me at evh…. Any song. Rip Eddie. Keep rocking Deagan
that is an awsome guitar!! hands down sweet as hell in my opinion!
That opening riff was from Pleasure Dome:)
no it wasn't. It is Don't Tell Me What Love Can do from Balance

Is it ok if you don't use the D tuna? Best regards
@@stephanpetersen8386 yep
I also owned specials in the past but that's why I go for the standard model as not bothered about D tuna.
What’s good brother
Balance album. Don't tell me what love can do.
Beautiful guitar. Switch should be down by the knobs though.
Dagan is a waycool 😎 badass!
The song in the intro sounded like if Van Halen played Something In The Way by Nirvana😂
Would look even better with white pickups and non baked maple neck
I thought it was the smallest half stack in the world, and it just turns out that Dagan is a giant 😂
How do you like these in comparison to the EVH 5150 Deluxe Series?
Are the pickups in these made in usa ones or different?
I'd buy one in a heartbeat if the hardware was anything other than gold.
Wish they'd do stoptail Wolfgangs again.
Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do (Van Halen)
Is this guy a giant?
You’re playing is absolutely Spot on with those VHalen licks! ❤ it’s not the guitar … but the guitar is absolutely gorgeous!😂
what s the diffrence between a dean flyin v cherry and a gibson vibrola v?
🔥🚀🔥
Where can you buy that Kramer guitar in the background? The one with the natural finish body? Thanks
That's Dagan old 1987 Pacer Custom II 🤘
8:32 what is that riff from?
You the King of Bad Asses….
New to VH.. what is the song at 11:23?
Flush mount pick ups & neck profiles as stout as they come.

I don’t think he enjoyed recording this video one bit. Poor guy. 😂
Beautiful guitar...idk what i think about that blackstar amp it sounds very sterile and flat ...much rather have the prs hdrx or the new jtm or plexi
De tuna not all that good when used to drop all the rest go out of tune sounds shite
that shit fuckin rocks man

Ok like the way special actually means special in the EVH world. Whereas in Gibson world it means ‘not as good’
Don't Tell Me, good old Balance album 😁

By far the best looker.
Now if they just made one in toxic green. 😮
I want this one. Going to put Dimarzio Utopia pick up covers on it with gold pot knobs.

hey Degan,
added the guitar to my collection a few months ago.
It was love, at a first sight.

Didn't know Russell Brand played guitar

Nailed another one Dagan. Awesome Halen riffs
idk why but these guitars look so small on you xD
Don’t Tell Me (What Love Can Do) off Balance.
