If you watch the plant till the flowers are just complete.... then in the evening, you can shake the flowers into a paper bag. If it is the right time the flowers easily fall off into the bag. if they aren't falling off readily, then it is not yet the right time. Then just separate out any little bugs that might have fallen into the bag and put the flowers into the jar with vodka. This method doesn't stress the plant like cutting will, and you will also avoid having unripe flower buds and green stem material... which contains compounds you do not want (for those new to this, elder stems and unripe berries are poisonous). The advantage to this method is you get the best flowers at the right time without upsetting the plant. The disadvantage to this method is that you must pay careful attention to the pant to be able to harvest the flowers at just the correct moment. Too early and they don't come off, too late and you lose a bit of vitality to oxidation. And remember, evening is the best time not in the mid day. But this is the Biodynamic way to work with the plant.
