Wow Steve that was such a fantastic in depth review. Thanks it has been a great help to me. I absolutely love the Stinger and I am going to order mine tomorrow 😊 Keep up the good work.
Y'all watch out for the stingers weak spark plugs. Cracked mine twice, now have low compression in cylinder 3 and whole motor now has to be replaced only 16,000 miles so dissapointed. I want my car swapped out now for a new one.
@@lamont23able1 Interesting... There are a few people on Stinger forums that have had the issue. Looks like it might be due to an issue with the coils overheating I guess on the flip side you've got a new motor but it's wild that it caused the whole thing to have to be replaced
@@CarsWithSteve Yup that's what the next fix was, changed the coil and received worst news. Trying to stay on the bright side of it, though a headache.
Probably the best all inclusive review of features. I pick up my new Stinger GT Elite (Canadian equivalent to GT2) tomorrow. I will keep the video to use as a reference.
Hi Steve from Steve in Sydney, Australia. This is a great instructional video. I just wish Kia had done something like this for every function of the car and included it as an instruction manual with every car sold. My Stinger is a year old and the new sat nav system and new functions look great on this updated model. Just a quick note, if you set a destination using the sat nav system, the turn directions do come up on the HUD. I love using that as you don't have to keep looking at the main screen. I find this system better than using Google maps or Waze through the android phone that I have as using either of those does not come up on the HUD I just wish they had included an audible warning if you do happen to go over the speed limit. The flashing red on screen is there but if you are watching the road in front of you it is easy to miss. I keep saying it time and time again, value for money, standard equipment, performance, warranty etc., there is not a car on the road that gets close to it when all things are considered, including price.
Hey Steve, thanks for the great feedback! I'm new to reviewing Kia so always great when owners can point out a few things. I'll make sure to mention the HUD for navigation in future videos All great points for the value - 5 year 100,000km basic and powertrain is great! It's interesting when looking at what you actually get tech wise in these cars - plus I love that it's all wheel drive. How are you enjoying your Stinger so far and is your first time in a Kia?
@@CarsWithSteve Hi Steve. In Australia we have a 7 year warranty and if you get the car serviced at the same dealership, it extends to 10 years. We don't get the AWD only RWD. Mine is the top of the range GT here in Oz and everything was standard in it. The tech is great however the new models have a bigger info screen and far better tech. The blind spot indicators that come up on screen when you indicate should be standard on all cars. Wish I had that in mine. I also like how you can change the colour of the HUD so that certain information cane be a different colour. I tried the standard white, tried orange and settled on green for the speedo as that colour seems to work better in all conditions. I had a Cerato GT / Forte GT before buying my Stinger and that was a pocket rocket. Brilliant car for its class. Luckily I was able to upgrade to the Stinger which I think is the best car I have owned and I have owned a Merc and a WRX in the past. I just love my Stinger and it is a real head turner. I feel sorry for badge snobs who dismiss Stingers because they are not German. Kia are making some great cars. Several of my friends and family have bought Kias and love them. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next review.
@@belvederedog2563 That 7-10 year warranty is wild! It's great to hear from people what made them decide to go with the car they wound up in.. sounds like yours was a deliberate choice and not a dealer twisting your arm Thanks so much for the support!
Great extensive review - best one I've seen so far to show off all the features. Just recently bought a 2019 GT2 AWD - and lovin' it. One thing I might add is I get no engine knock usin' regular fuel, although I plan to put the occasional tank of premium in whenever I win the lottery.
Thanks so much! Appreciate you letting me know that you aren't hearing knocking when using that regular fuel. I find it's hit or miss sometimes! Curious, is it your first time in a Kia? And what made you think of getting into a Stinger?
The engine on the GT Line isn’t the same as last year. 2021 has a 2.0 L with 255HP 2022 has a 2.5 L with 300 HP. Thanks for such a detailed review. I have a 2022 GT Line AWD and you helped me with setting up Apple Car Play. The split screen wasn’t how I wanted it. Now my screen is showing only Car Play.
The paddles are a blast to use once you get the hang of it. Check this video out - ua-cam.com/video/YYaagDisqso/v-deo.html It's shot on the new S650 Mustang but the same process applies to the Stinger!

Per Kia:Kia Motors America has made no official announcement regarding discontinuing the Kia Stinger. We will share more news when/if appropriate. ^RM it’s a rumor Kia isn’t killing the stinger
Ohh interesting thanks for the heads up! I know the Stinger isn't selling as well as it should especially with the feature set it has. I think if it was at a lower price point or branded differently (think Hyundai vs Genesis) it could capture the right market
Yeah just a bit.. how much is your local dealer asking over MSRP? Check out other dealers too.. look for a high volume one which is most likely not going to have the same markups
This has got to be the most in depth video on the Stinger I have ever seen! Congratulations Steve on a great video !

Led fog lamp in stinger? Stinger never came with fog light unless it's after market
It would be pretty cool to see an aftermarket install of an LED headlamp! People get pretty creative with their cars

There would be a slight factory tint.. same way as most cars. But there's always the option of going a bit darker
