Bro needs an un humble button. Ali Clarkson rides like Ali clarkson. Just like Danny Mac rides like Danny Mac. You're a legend in the sport.
From now on I’m going to be a lot more big headed…I’m great! 😂
Tried to tell him this for years. Not only is he a legend on a bike, he is actually approachable, friendly, polite and overall a decent human being (which is becoming a rare thing these days!)
if were talking trials and not bmx moves on a street bike Ali is BETTER then danny mac .
@@TheCraigy83 💯 completely agree!! I've said this to him lots!
@@TheNonsenseAdventures
Hes Andrei Burton caliber but obligated to advertise these horrible geometry bikes 💀.
i wont miss the comp community pushing streety bikes / clouding the search engine when i wanna see comp chompyness😂 , the slimyness of rebranding street bike & bmx as trials to create a ''new'' product to milk & using a star to push it / danny mac is peak selling your soul 😂.
Street trials riding videos from ali are always the best!! Those stoppies are nuts
Glad you like them!
The pedal swap was lightning fast! I too think this bike looks fantasic, especially with the purple. These bikes really don't show on film how exsquisite the finish is. Awesome to see you out riding and absolutely killing it!
Thanks dude!
Great riding
You have your own style and do things nobody does that way.
You are so good in riding natural underground like trees and big rocks.
And then the styli steet stuff. That is enough for a cool edit mixed all together.
Go on ali
I appreciate that!
Love the old school Ali video vibes
🤘🏻
Love the riding vids! Glad you're back on the bike, hope you get over the final hump of the injuries soon!
Thanks, me too :)
Hey man,you make people like this sport more and more been so smooth in your ride. Beauty in trails is not to make only big tricks but controlled and smooth moves, stayed balanced on the bike. You are inspiration for so many riders,i guess.Keep that good work and be safe and healthy.
That’s for the kind words! 😁
Purple on bikes rules! Happy 40th Ali! (54 and still riding flatland)
Thank you!
gotta love old shool flatland dudes, allway a blast to meet
@@lolstein137 Thanks dude. Riding better in my 50s than ever before.
@@morgangleave8518 hell yeah
Back on the track! Good to see you back!
Thanks very much :)
Leonard Bernstein said that the essence of music is "violation of expectation". You're in good company.
Oh I like that :)
You create enjoyable content, your bike build and training videos are both relaxing and insightful, but most importantly your presentation style is quite educated, as opposed to the more common "YO DUDE WHAT'S UP". :)
Thanks very much! I’m glad my video style is appreciated :)
This is one of my favorite videos of yours so far! I am not sure why. Maybe seeing that it takes work, especially fresh off the couch. Great job Ali!
Wow, thank you!
I know you probably struggle with burnout, but I hope it helps to know that us fans absolutely love these honest street trials vlogs!
thank you for your quick reply. I use the Lagura MT7 HC3. I have seen videos of people putting water on the pads, others who blow the wheels to make them hit the ground sharply when braking. I no longer know what technique was used because I don't have the chance to ride often and it's been 14 years since I started. Daniel did me the pleasure of replying to a message too. I am very happy to be able to talk to you (via Google translate) but you are welcome in Bordeaux in France!!! I love you !!!!! and I hope your knees feel better
(when I wrote this message I hadn't finished watching your video) Really cool by the way. It’s a shame that we don’t have too much news from others like Joël and all those from the “clean” team.
This has got to be one of your best recent video's, absolutely loving it!
Great to hear, thanks very much :)
Some riding clips to cure my burnout, cheers Ali!🍻
My pleasure :)
already love the vlog, (I have only been watching for two minutes) gives me old school ali c vlog vibes!
Glad you enjoyed!
Great to see you riding the Hex again Ali! Your style is unique and awesome!
Thanks a lot!
man the opening sequence was brutal... hope you get back at it soon Ali
Thank you :)
Loved it, the hex is beautiful and the as always riding was pretty special
Thank you!
Jolly good to see you back on it! 💪
Smooth operator 👌
Thanks 👍
Great to see you back riding dude 👊🏻
Hopefully will get together and ride this year 😎
Most definitely!
Boah this Video is soo Nice! I Love the last Spot this was Sick Ali💪🏽 You are my Hero😎
Glad you liked it!!
Great VIdeo, really enjoyed that!
Cheers dude!
Yuss been looking forward to this!
Hope it was worth the wait :)
@@Ali_Clarkson yeah man, the last spot was cool, classic crusty Glasgow spot and Ali doing some sweet trials, nowt better! 👍🏻
How's that Schwalbe tire combo now that you've had some proper time on it?
Still loving it :) I’ve replaced the rear once as its slightly softer compound and didn’t like skids but I liked it enough that I just trimmed another and put it on for the same setup
@@Ali_Clarkson happy to hear that! May I ask what the advantage is with running the (de-knobbed) nobby nic on the rear vs 2x racing Ralphs? I'm looking to replace my stock Maxxis tires on my 2024 hex pro and those Schwalbes seem like the ticket. Thanks in advance! Been a big fan for a long time.
@@SyllixMusic it’s slightly softer compound so has a little more grip but I also like the feel. Not sure if It’s the sidewalls or just the softer compound but it feels ever so slightly more “damped” than the RR, a bit less harsh.
That said, I wouldn’t have any real complaints about using an RR on the rear, it’s still a great option
Happy belated 40th Ali!
I also turn 40 come August.
Those tyres smaller than what you usually use?
Thank you! Happy birthday to you when it comes :)
No the tyres are the same but the rims are slightly narrower which does make them slightly narrower plus with the rims being shallower it maybe gives further illusion that they’re smaller
Makes sense.
But does it make a difference?
if you banged the disc on the very first line, i'm gonna shed a tear for you
What you mean tape your brakes for the noise. Please do a video on that
sticking a bit of tape on the back of the brake pads so it's sitting between the pads and the caliper pistons, this helps with pad sliding/knocking back and forth
What he said, I actually do have a video on this “top 5 street trials hacks” where I explain it in more detail
Happy you are feeling better. Take it easy
Thank you, I will!
Hey Ali, is running an 8 inch rotor in the back of the Hex safe for the frame? Inspired does not seem to warranty if the 8 inch rotor is used in the back.
Been waiting for this! ❤
Love how he says ‘it’s been 2 months since i last rode’ while wearing his ride every day shirt!! Gotta love it
The ironing 😂
Do you mean irony? I can’t imagine you ironing t-shirts!
@@dorothyclarkson772 it was a futurama or simpsons reference mother
Ah, pardon my ignorance! It’s a generational thing, I guess.
2:29 those are the most fake looking real clouds I've ever seen
Good old CGI
Ali Cat back in the streets!
🤘🏻
6:45 unpredictable and smooth were the words I was searching to define your style over the years, never thought of these and yep, thats unique and awesome !
I’m glad to hear it, thank you :)
Making me miss my Inspired Flow, Ali!
Sorry! 😅
Where is your cat?
Currently eating his dinner after watching foxes in the garden
The riding is epic as always but the support in the comments is awesome! Keep on being you!
My viewers sure are nice folk!
@@Ali_Clarkson they certainly are and you should take pride in that!
I wish I was good enough to do G-turns as a solution to dizziness. That move at 3:37 was insane! Didnt look like your back wheel touched the ground. Seems like basically a gap from the front wheel.
Haha I don’t think the gturn helped 😂
Dont be to humble, Ali! You are a very complete rider. Yes, your smoothness is outstanding, but its not true that you cannot be spectacular or that you are lacking the height in jumping. Its always relative, and for ,I guess, 98% of your viewers like me you riding will always be a benchmark.
Kind words, thanks very much! I’m my worst critic haha
Hello, would it be possible to make a video that explains how to break in your brakes. I'm not talking about the maintenance of pads and discs. This is really the next step please because I'm having trouble with my Inspired Skye V1 (model with the cleats at the back) thanks in advance
I literally just go out riding, with new pads and rotors out takes me about 30 mins of riding until the power is good and then maybe an hour until they’re fully bedded in, I don’t use any specific methods sorry.
What brakes do you use?
WOW You are 40, thought you were late 20's, Good on you for still being the best rider out there
Thanks very much!
@@Ali_Clarkson you should meet up with Sam Pilgrim for a street ride Sesh think you could learn a lot from each other and he always name drops you 👍
@@aifemale9359 I think that’s easier said than done with us living shut 7 hours apart and him being so busy :(
What happened that caused you to move from the slope to brick wall?
I saw it 😂
That shakyfeeling and dizziness in definately what I have been experiencing frequently. One or two weeks off of riding does it. Im 43 so age and body adaption process is a factor. I try to get into the zone, beastmode and not think of my life problems but on certain days it just does not help. My only cure would be - ride more often. Heads up dude!
Going to try and be healthier and ride more so hopefully it won’t happen again :)
Glad you’re feeling better man
Thanks very much :)
Good to see you back on the bike man! Take it easy!
Thanks, will do!
Maybe go back to rim brakes. And give your tendom xtra time to heal.
I’d be interested to try rim brakes another go, they’re still very much a compromise though plus these frames don’t have rim brake mounts
I‘ve had this feeling several times. I feel like I loose precision and focus. Let me know if you find out what is is. It feels like a blood suggar drop
It could’ve been low blood sugar or my body not being used to caffeine and giving me the shakes after a redbull earlier
Question, I am 6'3'' about 220 pounds and looking for a trials frame in the US, used preferably any suggestions on a brand/make/model, I have scoured the FB marketplace and no luck and I even live in a mountain bike haven or trails and such.
I know I’m biased but Inspired are definitely one of the stronger frames out there, you might also appreciate bigger 26” wheels but sadly this is even harder to find used.
Another option is to just modify a dirt jumper with powerful brakes, a decent rear hub and a lighter gear ratio, this’ll be a lot easier to do but the geo might be compromised slightly (not that it hurts too much)
Try Pinkbike. There are very few trials bike in the US.
pinkbike buy/sell is good. I think a dirt jumper with the shortest chainstay and highest bottom bracket you can find will do well unless you are really good at trials already. Spank Hex hubs are 102 points of engagement and very affordable. So if you are stuck with non trials bike parts to choose from you could still assemble a good learning platform.
@@Ali_Clarkson I actually have 2 sets of 26" V brake rims! So I am good on that part.
Ali, good to see you getting some bike time!! Mend up and you'll be back in your groove sooner than later.
Thanks very much :)
Great to see you back out dude, showing more seatpost than usual?
I’m such a tease 😝
Finally!! And get well soon Ali
Thank you!
Nice workout Ali! So is that wheel size 24 or 26 inches
Thank you! They’re 26” 👍🏻
13:46 It looks lika a toy dude offcourse you are tall😁
😋
Yes! Street videos are my favorite :D
Glad you like them!
A rotor to the knee ... ouch!
Better than an arrow to the knee I guess
Nice moves! 😎🚴 That crash feels a lot painful...😢 Glad to see that youre ok after that! Btw, did the 'cute thief' shreds with you? 😹✌️ Anyways, nice vid! Looks like a nice place to ride.
The cute thief does shred with me! He shreds my hands when we play 😂
@@Ali_Clarkson 😹😹😹 haha, signature moves by the 'cute thief'
Easy does it - great riding Ali!
Thanks ✌️
That's interesting the difference from forward nose wheelie and backwards. I find the backwards ones to feel so much safer because I can't go OTB as easily.... But I think you're right, there's more slack in the balance point when doing them forwards.
People tend to find the backwards ones easier but I’ve always struggled to be consistent with them
@@Ali_Clarkson Yeah doing squeakers with your foot on the tire makes learning it a lot easier.
Smooth is king. Stay with this style!
I’ll try my best :)
Thanks for not editing out any failed attempts to do a trick. Falling is the practical reality of pushing limits, especially when you're rusty 👍
Haha thanks, I did edit out a few though (you don’t need to see ten mins of me failing a gap 😋)
Ali telling us about the failed attempts is what makes this channel so great. Most riding videos make us think riders clean everything all the time. Its a frustrating standard to try and live up to for us avg riders.
Feel your pain man, I broke my wrist in November >< couldn't ride until late February, gotta rest up and remember to warm up!
That sucks :( I hope it isn’t causing you any more issues now you’re back riding
@@Ali_Clarkson I can ride, just about, just can't do anything aggressive because the strength has gone, gotta retrain it to get back thirty years of riding haha
@@SeraphXSI broke mine a few years ago. It took 6 weeks to get most functionality back but 9months to be able to bend it back all the way like to do a push-up. Actually learned from youtube that it was common to lose that one direction of movement after recovery. Wish the doc would have told me to expect that because I was worried it was permanent. Luckily that direction of movement didnt mess with riding. But the fear from the wrist break still affects my jumping confidence. Rest and recovery are great but you gotta remember to challenge yourself in small ways so the injury doesnt knock you way back. Good luck with your recovery.
How is the bike so quiet😱
Nice to see you out riding a bit more 👌 you also make those first gaps look way easier than they felt when me and alex were up there other week 😅
Your style of riding is unique, so smooth and so much flow 😍
Thank you 🙌
Can't wait for more riding videos! 👏🏻
Looking forward to making them :)
Had to have a sit down when you said sliced through tendon. 🤢 I know that pain
I only noticed id done it when i was in the hospital waiting room about the cut above my eye haha, it never hurt at any point which was nice
@@Ali_Clarkson bet it started to sting when you seen it. I sliced clean through my thumb tendon to grip so I'm lucky to be riding at all. Glad you on the mend
@@jasonrollo it only stung once, when the doctors were poking around inside it working out what damage was done but that was just one sharp stab and then zero pain again, even when getting injected and stitched.
Doing anything to the hands is scary, I’m glad you healed up!
@@Ali_Clarkson somethings should stay on the inside, I got about 90 percentage movement and feeling back. I finally got myself a street bike so I'm rewatching a lot of your stuff for inspiration.
Im 41. Starting at 6 month ago. Thx bro. Love ur videos.
You got this!
Love that colour too. Man im so glad spring is here too! Glad your injuries have healed up in time for the better weather
Cheers dude!
glad to see you feeling better, Ali. keep it up!
Thank you, I will
It is so so good to see Ali healthy enough to get out and ride The highlight for me was the gap to side hop to 180 at the second spot considering he hasn’t ridden in a few months that’s pretty decent
Thanks very much dude!
@@Ali_Clarkson anytime and you’re welcome Plus The type of riding you do injuries do happen but when it’s out of your control like your neck and shingles must be so frustrating that you can’t make riding Contant for us
Cool bro @ali #goodvibes and nice bike🩷💕🔥😎🤘😍🤩
Cheers!
loved this, listen to your body bro, well done! look after your knee, and yeah... always told people your riding isnt about the stuntzzz like a bmxer or danny mac, its about the creative line choices done with style 😎
Thank you!
