You're the best Sorin! My son spilled something on his Macbbok Air. He took it to a computer shop and they told him the motherboard was oxidized and not repairable. I've always been a fix it type of guy. I told my son bring me the computer. I watched a lot of your A1465 videos and followed a schematic. All the voltages were there in the right places. I finally came across this video and I cleaned and flipped the keyboard cable and IT WORKS! Thank you so much!
Hey, just wanted to say that this helped me fix a friends laptop that experienced the same issue after getting water in it. I looked all over the board I couldn't find any damage. In the end the connector had corroded and I managed to clean it up with alcohol, I'd never have thought that the trackpad would stop the machine from starting. You saved us hundreds of dollars. Thank you!
Sorin don’t say you can’t or are lousy an a MacBook. You did a great job. We understand now what to do when everything is clean and nice. Take every thing out and put it back one piece at the time. If it is not working you now what the problem is. I thank you for doing this for us.👍🏻
thank you Sorin for this new video. you give me energy to back to electronic, it was too much theory at school. big hug from Guadeloupe in the French West Indies
You are welcome Senpai Sorin (for the boardview software link) Your Discord community is a great place to get help and learn new things so I am happy when I can help in any small way.
nice video sorin, the changing phase of the mouse cable get the job done,a genius thinking and thank you for your appreciation for the iphone and ipad schematics but i have to thank you more because i have taken alot from you and im still taking, god bless you and have a nice weekend.
Correct me if I am wrong! I think apple has resistant checks on the board. So if one part gets wet the whole system shuts down to keep from further damage. Every thing must be checked and ok on voltage and current before system boot.
this quite long but tells you what i feel as i am doing the job. thanks for the very nice tutorial. maybe in reality i will take two days. you're so helpful in your teaching
You were not happy, I could see that, but I thought you were brilliant getting it diagnosed. If only a doctor was as good at his job as you are at yours ...
Hello Sorin, Nice video ;) But dont be tricked, orange light on magsafe was charging only on older models. Now orange is always on (no matter if battery is charging or battery is taken off the macbook). Green is on only if battery is present and fully charged.
Hi Sorin, The Gopro Freezing & Multimeter changing is RF/Trace Voltage getting into the cables of the USB, It's a common issue and It confuse devices sometimes making them disconnect or "misbehave" as your multi-meter is doing, This is why it only happens when you probe live components as a bit of that voltage passes through your multi-meter back down the USB cable and causes chaos to anything connected to the PC's USB ports, To fix this buy 2 ferrite beads (they cost like £1-2) and clip them onto the USB Leads of the Gopro and especially the Multimeter USB lead, Hope it helps :)
you should only really use 'off the shelf' ferrites for power cables/lines unless you can be sure that data is not going to be corrupted by the filtering properties of a ferrite.
Hello Sorin, After watching this video I think the MacBook senses the Apple mouse in the area and it thinks you're trying to PAIR the MOUSE with the MacBook that's why it keeps showing you the picture of a mouse on the screen and it's telling you that the mouse needs to be facing the IR sensor in the front of the MacBook because you had the MacBook laying on it's back it couldn't see the mouse but it knows it's in the are. That's what I think what was happening.
Hi sorin I would have made you proud. I had to do a doggy repair on my wifes laptop. I had to modify a usb type A male to fit usb type A female. I used copper desolder braid to hold down after cutting ground lins and mount down. Lol
i had same model that died after i plugged in bios jtag clip with programmer .. i think it overvoltaged it. it also had signs of green from a few drops of water from rear exhaust area.
Hello! Thanks a lot for the videos you posted! They are very instructive. I learned a lot from them and I have more ... Why nothing about PC motherboards? How can I diagnose one? Are there big differences? A big difference is that the PC motherboard has more voltages from source not only 19V like the laptop one's.
Hello. Sorin, I would like to thank you for your excellent video's, and for sharing your expertise!! I have a simple question for you. I apologize for being so naive. But I am just starting board level repairs, I am a graduate of a Technical Institute but have been strapped to a corporate position for many years now. That is done with! :) My question is: Where is the best place to purchase replacement components. What company or companies do you use for good quality components? capacitors, inductors, mosfets, ic's. basically replacement component parts for todays popular brand names. Any support would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like someone had a go at that connector before. Looks like coffee. Yes i hate Apple products too; overpriced, horrible unix environment, proprietry. Nice one Sorin. Always interesting to be taken on the journey of what is wrong and how its fixed :)

When i charge the battery on six volt and 2 amp limt but power supply do not reduce volt it is still on six volt but it should come on 4.2 or some thing near on good battery but it do not reduce volt. It was working fine some days before now it is not reducing volt on good battery even taking amp near 2 amp.. where is problem.. plz tell me sir I bought new power supply one month ago.. plzzz
Your videos is always amazing sir. btw can you help me, when i start to log on to windows my notebook goes white screen but when i enter BIOS mode its fine. i already try to connect external monitor but it always came with white screen
Have you tried to boot on safe mode? witch version of Windows do you have? Have you some USB or Windows boot cd or linux cd to try boot from, if you boot from any external way then your OS have some issue, check for viruses first and later make an backup of you info before anything else, also if you have another HDD do a clean instalation of windows to see if the fail is out
@@aureatechcomputacion Thank you sir for your respond, i am really appreciate. anyway i already try both windows 7 and 10 to boot from safe mode still it goes to white screen when it perform to installation. I did it like you said still got the problem. I have try to install linux too but it always came back to white screen. then i decide to disassembly my laptop and i realize the fan is not working
@@trians95 OK, is the fan not working because is dirty and goes stuck or because is't not getting energy? if after the fan had had been clean still not work try with some 5 volts external power supply to power the fan, if the fan works, then check on the motherboard if is giving or not power to the fan. If powering the fan with the external power supply and with the laptop semidisassbly, boot to Windows, if still you got the white screen then the fail has other origin, not overheating of the CPU and videochip
