I’m in the Air Force, I’m an electrician/lineman I’m in Texas rn at an advanced climbing course. When you get about 20 ft up that’s when you start to think about it and all the sudden it gets a little harder to breath, great experience I wish I did a little more lineman work but I mainly do electrician work at the moment.
@@miguelaleman8363 crane, smart grid, etc is totally up to you tbh. I kept hearing that employers rarely look for those extra certs. I only signed up to do my Class A here which is fairly easy, but I’d also recommend you get it before the term that way it’s less stress on your plate.
I always think “man what if I drop the hardware from this high😭” When I start I’m going to always have an extra square washer, lock, and nut whenever I go up 😭🫡😂
It’s a rope holder for your hand line but it can be used for everything. From keeping your secondary out the way to holding bolts, etc. Just a handy hook
Its called a break away hook and it serves a purpose. The purpose of it is if you are carrying a hand line up a pole and there is traffic in the area and for whatever reason the tag end of the line catches on something moving at a hig rate of speed it will snap that hook off instead of pulling you off the pole.
how long is a training school for being a lineman and where do you recommend?? im so motivated to start its driving me crazy lmao!!!! any advice or references would be great. thanks.
Any of the NLC campuses. I’m going to the Florida campus later on this year for the class. It’s around 15 weeks and they teach you everything, including your tools, tuition, etc. but I would recommend getting your class a CDL first ( with air brake and combination endorsement ) before you go to school. Just makes it easier on the ol wallet and it’s hard to get into line work without one.
@@fourwheeledfloridian2346 hey thanks for the advice iv been looking at the schools and either doing one of th enlc classes or maybe one out here in colorado. but im calling to set up my cdl in 2 weeks so at least il start there!!

Good for you old timer. I’d rather not die for a company. Other people shouldn’t have less safety just because you didn’t when you worked and you were willing to risk your life because it made you feel manly. I don’t see how less dangerous is worse. Stfu, no one cares that you had a single belt. You’re an idiot for letting an employer risk people’s lives like that. You’d rather have more people injured and possibly dead because you think that makes our generation pussies? Nah we’re just smarter than you and we aren’t driven by ego..
