  • Camp Nou has been FC Barcelona's home stadium since 1957. It's basically their supersized living room, replacing their old one that got too small for all their fans. Back then, everyone wanted to see the amazing Ladislao Kubala play. Construction started in 1955 and by 1957, they were ready to rumble. Fans started calling it "New Ground" right away, which stuck and eventually became official.
For a long time, Camp Nou was the biggest stadium in Europe, holding almost 100,000 fans! New safety rules meant some seats had to go, but it's still massive. In 2022, they finally started a huge renovation project. It's going to take a while, but they should be back in their familiar digs by 2025. For a bit, they'll only be using half the stadium while they finish the rest.
This renovation is a big deal. They're adding more seats, getting a fancy new roof, and might even sell the naming rights (like putting a big company name on the stadium). The plan is to keep Camp Nou where it is, give it a modern makeover, and make it even better than before. They're also building a new arena and revamping some other facilities nearby.
There were flashier plans in the past, with crazy designs and a whole new stadium, but for now, they're sticking with a souped-up Camp Nou. Even though it's getting a major overhaul, one thing won't change: Camp Nou will always be FC Barcelona's heart and soul.
