No, snipers are not the highest DPS vs bosses. You can check my latest video vs +4 Arbiter. If I had better gear I would have killed him in 2-3s instead of the 5s it took.
@ Imo you have a so high spirit and such a crazy sceptre that mages work. But Snipers work better for bosses in general from my own testing on many different bosses with +8 minion levels and 470 spirit. I beat the trial master in about the same time as you with much cheaper gear using snipers. That’s mainly because their single target DPS is higher and you can have more snipers with the same spirit. Or perhaps it’s because I didn’t slot the curse efficiency on the 2nd weapon set. Iirc I have -57% ish percent of ice res on the curse.
@@grok_gamma I had worse gear on my trialmaster kill than I did on my arbiter kill. I would have killed him much faster now. 512/541 spirit is not much higher than your 470. I also did not dual wield with trench on the trial kill.
What's your personal ranking on them so far based on bossing and clear? Like: Boss: cold>arsonist>storm Mapping: arsonist>storm>cold Something like this? Also, happy holidays.
i play almost the same build , i try Right now to play alph'a howl + trenchtimbe with +4 level, seem like insane more spirit etc but price is insane^^ and dexterity requirements ... I got myself into something dark xD
will guide be up tonight by chance? lol i was close to building the storm mage one today, is the gear the same as the storm mage guide at least? then i can just switch to ice mages and gg?
A lot is the same between the two builds, passive tree is the same. Skills are a bit different like hypothermia /Frost mages and the needed supports. I will try to get the guide out today or at the latest tomorrow.
Maybe? Probably? Energy shield is a very strong defensive layer. Zizaran plays HC with infernalist as ES and he is very high ranked on the ladder. Frost mages freezes and chills which makes they even better suited for HC.

But I think snipers have better clear speed.

Have you tested simulacrum on any of your builds? if so which would you recommend
I have not tested it yet no. But my guess is frost mages is the best bet.

Mapping would be Storm>cold>arsonists imo
After swapping out magnified effect for wildshards the clear speed of frost mages went up a level so now it is the same or even better than storm.
trying this build now. just make sure you put some points in strength and dexterity.

Alpha howl is not worth using. You dont get +2 minion skill levels and it needs 118 dex.
