This is Dan Bell. Funny I only got here because I watched one of your vids! This gem was in the recommended/related vids accompanying yours and clicked watch later.
These pristine abandoned hospitals are way more scary than the run down ones.....As I watched this I was formulating a horror story ...maybe even a film in my head....who knows...I may just write something....Great explore!.... I've subscribed....
It's always videos like these that excite me... going places that are usually blocked off or where you're not supposed to go (for some reason) like offices, lounge room and employee only areas. I had curiosity like this when I was in high school, on Saturdays I would do community work at our recently built HUGE school, and we were allowed to walk through the school to get to the courtyard... I obviously didn't go straight through. I would explore the teachers lounges, the kitchens in the cafeteria, offices and the like- places that when you're a kid you catch glimpses of and wonder what its like in there. I would never take anything, and if i would have gotten caught I would have been accused of such. Cool Video
Matt "Alahdeen" Haskell thanks! Same here, my first exploring was done at my school as a kid. Got my stuff back out of the teacher's desk that they took from me earlier in the year.
Scary that the operating table was left on. And I would take anything I could find and sell it or give it to a hospital in need because this equipment could be useful in any country that needs help!
superbug1977 but its a lot easier for a company to make more money and produce more things then to actually give things to people in need. Of course that causes things to be too expensive :(
+Shane Taylor That's why I don't identify locations like this. But by now, I'm guessing most of the good stuff has been removed by the hospital staff anyway. We got in right after they closed, before they had a chance to get everything out.
wow, just wow. What a colossal waste of money. Why do failing hospitals never donate equipment such as computers and desks to public schools in poor cities?
+theCPU101 they never remove the equipment they always leave it there to rot bet the lights and water is off by now.the new hospital already has the new equipment in it that's how it works tho it will be there intell people still it and tell they take the building down.
If that is an abandoned hospital, What the functional ones look like? This hospital looks in better condition than the most modern hospital in my country.
It's so weird seeing it empty like this. My son was born in this hospital and I've been to the ER many times. Thanks for posting, it was cool to watch :)
+sublunar Judging by the HD flatscreens in the hospital patient recovery areas, the hospital was not abandoned more than 6 years ago. it does look pretty recent when that hospital was abandoned.
yes. I did research and knew they were closing and got in during the transition period. New reports are that this place has since been sold and under new ownership.
3:10 that is either a regular interventional radiology room or a cath lab, most likely a interventional radiology room as the cath lab would be in the cardiology department. There’s the c-arm x-ray camera designed for guided fluoroscopy when doing a minimally invasive procedure. And there’s the overhead TV monitors.
You may think so, however i recently explored an Asylum in New York that had file cabinets full of employee/patient information. Driver license, social security card scans, etc and that place had been abandoned for years.
It always amazes me that first world countries can deem a facility like this outdated and in need of replacement when countries like Ghana, Kenya etc have literally crumbling single story buildings often with no power or running water and people with all manner of horrendous diseases crammed into the same room with barely enough space to walk between the beds... Shameful state of affairs.
John Berlinski, I'm familiar with HIPAA laws, I used to work in medical records in a doctor's office. Where does the privacy law address leaving expensive medical equipment behind at an abandoned hospital?
gruuno haha, pretty much. Like 2 months before we got in. I'm guessing they've since cleared out most of the stuff by now. I try to get in places like this as soon as possible so I don't miss anything. In the lab area there was a cooler set to -70 degrees that still had tissue specimens in it. Didn't get that part in the video though for some reason. Appeared to be mostly just blood vials. Didn't go rummaging around through it.
my dad works at a medical clinic except it's not a full-on hospital, so no morgue or OR. it's mostly just offices, a dental, and a few examination rooms. except from the dental stuff there isn't even an fMRI machine. but occasionally when i'm off school i'll go with him to help out and he tends to work late so we'll be there until around 8ish. pretty creepy to walk around with nobody there and the hallways dark. totally wish he worked at a bigger hospital though, i'd figure that it would be super cool to explore there after dark.
Holy shit there was a lot more noise when you explored it than when I was there. Seeing the operating table makes me want to return since I didn't get to that portion of the building, but I bet most of it has been removed by now. Only one way to find out though... Anyone want a return trip?
+Derpiest Derper Lol that's funny. But cat scans are cheap, they usually charge my insurance $20 for one. But they charge my insurance $700 for the doctor to interpret it. You'd at least save people $20.
i was at a hospital and whenever i went i was scared to use the red outlets because i thought they were for emergency stuff but i asked to use it before and they said i could.
I wouldn't enter any abandoned hospital without doing any research. I'd also wear a mask to prevent any possible dust or black mold from getting into my lungs. Otherwise great video!
It was just recently abandoned. As in not much time had passed for anything like years of mold or dust build up. Likely a few days to many a month at most had passed.
you must have hit that place sharpish , ive been doing this for years in the UK, its very rare the electric is still up and running on such a scale, good find,as we only leave footprints it never fails to amaze me the money in stuff that is just left behind,
We did! And yes, this was a gem. But not the first, the Forest Park Hospital in St Louis also had all power on. Fortunately, for me, as I had forgotten to fully charge my batteries, so I charged them in one of the offices, while I explored that part of the building. Good times!
you should have 1st check why it was Abandoned, maybe a infectious Disease spread in that Hospital and it was Quarantined and Abandoned, you should be Very Very and Extremely careful before entering a Resent Abandon Hospital. because you never know why or because it was left Abandoned and everything was left still running and on inside.
Many hospitals are turned into nursing homes after the move. In my town we had a new hospital build and the old building had several bids place to convert it into nursing homes. One of them go it and it's now a nursing home. I'm just guessing the buildings are easy to place into nursing home use and happens all over the country.
yes Sophia Bermejo , I saw what you did at 9:17 as he exits the morgue . In the door way on the right behind the door , is what looks like to me the end of a mop being moved . However if you look at the gap between the door and door frame I see no one there ?
***** Earlier in the video there is someone there with the cameraman. He kind of jumps out of the shot. Hospital doors are on hinges that close automatically so my guess is that it is that guy holding the door for the camera person.
There's another video of someone exploring the same exact hospital. I believe it's either the hospital wing that's closed down, not the hospital itself or that it was moved to a college campus that had opened a medical wing. Whichever it may be, it's due to a radiation leak. And also they do have a security alarm which is armed in certain parts of the wing, being that the guys in the other video had also tripped.
+WaynedudeProdutions I know! Weird!!! Moved strange for a foot, but he could be escorted around and wanted us to believe he was alone but this caught him out or something, I don't know, so weird ahah!
The last Roman Catholic hospital in Brooklyn, St. Mary's, announced yesterday that it planned to close after years of heavy financial losses, the latest casualty in New York State's shrinking hospital industry. St. Mary's, which serves many poor and uninsured patients in Bedford-Stuyvesant, is the third hospital controlled by the St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers to close in a little over a year. Its future had long been in doubt. Over the past three years, St. Vincent's gave St. Mary's $62 million just to cover operating costs, and in the first four months of this year, the hospital had an estimated $3.6 million operating loss, St. Vincent's officials said. Roughly 930 of the hospital's 1,100 employees will lose their jobs, the officials said. Leaders of New York's main health care worker's union, 1199/S.E.I.U., said they were troubled by the closing and pledged to help find new jobs for the workers.
It's such a shame to see perfectly good equipment there just abandoned, those anaesthetic machine are worth a few bob, let alone the operating tables, X Ray machine and scanner.
Just imagine how much money was spent on the machinery in this hospital -- the X-ray machine alone was probably over $200,000 -- lights in the operating rooms, furniture and fittings, the cost must have been unreal ! The electricity on the machines still switched on, the lights, just the power bill ! We all complain that health never gets enough money from annual budgets from the governments, federal and state ! I am assuming this was all written off - even if it was still in operation in 2014 surely some of the equipment would still be relevant. It's crazy !!! Who answers to this ? I don't know whether this, situation ever happens in Australia, it may do -- I've never seen anything about it. Such a bloody waste !!!
The hospital you guys just visited was opened back 1900s and they re located atm and they were taking everything out to the new place that’s why all of it’s there and it explains why it still has power and I believed someone said it’s sealed up now and has been sold all of the things that are in there now are gone.
Hard to believe that at one time doctors, nurses and patients filled these rooms. They say an ER is one of the most exciting places but this ones "code blue".
it doesnt seem odd to any of you the fact that there is power on and computers sitting there? Was it abandoned 10 min before this video? Doesnt make sense that none of this stuff has been stolen
I recon the hospital is in the process of being shutdown so is guarded and the person filming has been granted access to film. There is no way this equipment has been left
duh, if the guy just "broke in" and was such a "hardass", so would 1000 other people, place would be looted and there'd be graffiti all over the place, which is what this vid is missing
Im pretty sure that this individual was allowed with special permission to make a video tour of this, the equipment and all of the other objects were most likely moved out, sold, auctioned off or relocated to another hospital.
The panic stricken scaredy cat! The thing that poked out from the side of that machine was the pants of some surgical blues blown around by the cooling fan from the blood cooler they were hanging beside. Sorry, not Beetlejuice.
Were they in the process of moving? I worked at a county jail & when we moved to a new facility there was about a week where everyone was still moving their offices & all the medical equipment was still at the old jail. It kinda looked like this in that most everything was there except the people. It was kinda creepy even in the daytime but I had to go back to the old facility at 1 AM to pick up stuff to put an inmate on suicide watch. We didn't have the special smocks at the new jail yet. lol I got to the old jail & there were 2 officers in the lobby & that was it. All the lights were out, the electric locks were turned off, it was pitch black inside & all I had was a little flashlight. I am Psychiatric Services so I wasn't familiar with having to operate the locks manually so I am walking through this big (built for 1,800 inmates) empty pitch black 4 story jail fumbling with keys trying to get to the old Psych offices. lol It was beyond creepy.
HairyViking111 lol It was. That was 10 years ago & I am still talking about it. It's amazing how many sounds an old 4 level concrete building makes. It didn't help any with the officers in the lobby making creepy sounds in the elevator shaft either. lol
HairyViking111 lol Yea, just goofing off. They would go Wooooooohoooo & then laugh. The laughing was what was creepy. The doors never quite fully closed & with the elevator car in the basement it gave an odd echo effect in the shaft.
Also in solch einer Einrichtung würde ich auch gern einmal Unbehelligt herumspazieren und Filmen. What is this for a location and in what for a Country??? Special Thanks
Dali Ikon you mean as the camera pans back to the entry door, and in the doorway directly across the hall? I ran the speed at 0.25 and thought I saw something also.
I am certain that this hospital is in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where I live. It is still in the process of being emptied. We built a superhospital on the other side of the city. I do not know what the plans are for this building but it is a historical building so it's protected.
+Lorraine Auclair yes you probably would it's unfortunate a hospital one town over from me is actually closing down it will be officially closed in 4 years and i live in Massachusetts usa
Nicole Davidson that's bogus, there's something up with this location, no one wants to say the name of this hospital or provide any further information
Trustern I haven't disclosed the name of the hospital because obviously google would pick up on it and the persons currently associated with it would probably not like this video being out there with their name attached. I did not have permission to be there. Same reason I don't disclose other places that warrant anonymity. When they are demolished/renovated or otherwise deemed less sensitive, then I will update the information.
Yeh, it's abandoned. Everyone went out for lunch.
Walking dead reference?
you knop it
+Keukenrol Power did everyone just decide to take a break all at the same time?
Was that a foot at 9:17 at the bottom of the door that moves and comes back into frame?
It looks like someone mopping the floor.

The Ultrasound scanner would be nice to have on occasion.
2:18 Beckman Coulter LH 750 hematology analyzer

That would be trespassing and robbery. So, would you?

Audrey Szemplinski Of course, you're right. All of this equipment just left around unused--it could be made use of in so many parts of the world.
superbug1977 but its a lot easier for a company to make more money and produce more things then to actually give things to people in need. Of course that causes things to be too expensive :(
I'm stunned that no one has gone there and looted all those flat screen t.v's in the patient rooms yet.

I don't know why, but the noise of that stepper motor, or that machine running at random moments in the beginning of the video was cool lol.

+monica small I heard there was some kind of radiation leak, they had to evacuate immediately.
Oh
+monica small The vet fans are left on until everything can be cleaned and removed from the building.
+Sian Dyas roflmao, with great difficulty
I recon the hospital is in the process of being shutdown so is guarded and the person filming has been granted access to film. There is no way this equipment has been left
+Reuben Kidd Definitely were not granted access. But the equipment is all gone now and the building has been purchased by someone else.
+Reuben Kidd you'd be surprised by how many abandoned hospitals actually leave equipment behind
+sublunar Would you happen to know why this hospital was abandoned?
+TheTalkingTaco Sure. due to the hurricane Katharina in new Orleans
duh, if the guy just "broke in" and was such a "hardass", so would 1000 other people, place would be looted and there'd be graffiti all over the place, which is what this vid is missing
so this is why im always on hold when i call
3:41 it's a continuous x-ray machine it's what there use if your putting a stints in someone's heart if there had a heart attack
Im pretty sure that this individual was allowed with special permission to make a video tour of this, the equipment and all of the other objects were most likely moved out, sold, auctioned off or relocated to another hospital.
why do people just leave buildings like this when they look pretty new and have loads of equipment in?
wow that Xray machine you can get alot of money selling that for at least $10,000
@3:13 is a heart catherisation room
I saw an IBM Model M keyboard. I would've taken that for sure!
+YoMamasTacos good eye me to
SO no one was working there ? In any case I sure could use some of that stuff for my lab
This looks much nicer than the average NHS hospital in the UK, why would they abandon it when it looks perfectly useable?
WOW ❤
What is going on with all They's Hospital's being Abandoned? ❤
this is incredible.
The panic stricken scaredy cat! The thing that poked out from the side of that machine was the pants of some surgical blues blown around by the cooling fan from the blood cooler they were hanging beside. Sorry, not Beetlejuice.
Where is this!? I'd love to photograph it.
What was that thing moving at the bottom of the door at the end of the video?
idk why but this reminds me the 2000 - 2009 years
Were they in the process of moving?
+shananagans5 That sounds extremely creepy lol.
HairyViking111 lol It was. That was 10 years ago & I am still talking about it. It's amazing how many sounds an old 4 level concrete building makes. It didn't help any with the officers in the lobby making creepy sounds in the elevator shaft either. lol
shananagans5 Lol. Were they trying to scare you?
HairyViking111 lol Yea, just goofing off. They would go Wooooooohoooo & then laugh. The laughing was what was creepy. The doors never quite fully closed & with the elevator car in the basement it gave an odd echo effect in the shaft.
shananagans5 lol. That sounds so creepy. Do you have any other stories like this?
Also in solch einer Einrichtung würde ich auch gern einmal Unbehelligt herumspazieren und Filmen. What is this for a location and in what for a Country??? Special Thanks
I wonder if they are going to come back for the stuff
A hospital with a bypass machine just sitting in the hallway. I call it. 😂
There's lots off expensive machines and equipment laying around
I wonder the reason why it was abandoned, I mean, I can understand why someone would leave a house, or a factory, but a hospital? that is just creepy
Love your videos it feels like were right there with you. So spooky feeling but i love it. Will watch every video you post they're great.
What was that black creature near the door at 9.18 omg
Dali Ikon you mean as the camera pans back to the entry door, and in the doorway directly across the hall? I ran the speed at 0.25 and thought I saw something also.
+DUSTERDUDE238 holy shit there is something zoom in
+Dali Ikon isn't that his companion?
+Dali Ikon that would be a foot of his buddy.
I think it's a cat
While they might have left some lights on, I highly doubt they'd leave medical equipment turned on and running.
I am certain that this hospital is in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where I live. It is still in the process of being emptied. We built a superhospital on the other side of the city. I do not know what the plans are for this building but it is a historical building so it's protected.
It's not some other guy did a video of this same hospital this hospital is in Illinois
Ah! What a waste. Well I am sure that if we took a tour of the Montreal institution(s), we would find the same waste!!
+Lorraine Auclair yes you probably would it's unfortunate a hospital one town over from me is actually closing down it will be officially closed in 4 years and i live in Massachusetts usa
Pretty sure this is in Jefferson City MO
What city and state was this hospital in?
This is St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri, located at the intersections of Highways 50 and 54, southeast corner.
can you please tell me what the name is oh the hosbittal i want to read about it
*hospital
Rebecca Ciancio fuck you
Fuck you :) learn to spell!
What's the name of this hospital?
Thanks!
Also, why were it abandoned?
People are saying it was abandoned because of a radiation leak idk😂
Nicole Davidson that's bogus, there's something up with this location, no one wants to say the name of this hospital or provide any further information
ghost Oh so its not a radiation leak?
Nicole Davidson i cant say if that's true or not, but i bet its not the case
Trustern I haven't disclosed the name of the hospital because obviously google would pick up on it and the persons currently associated with it would probably not like this video being out there with their name attached. I did not have permission to be there. Same reason I don't disclose other places that warrant anonymity. When they are demolished/renovated or otherwise deemed less sensitive, then I will update the information.
7:03 looks like that area was renovated before didn't look to bad though... why did they abandon it
hurricane Katrina
Oh my god!! This place is AWESOME!! I must know where it's at!!! 😱
New Orleans, Louisiana
Somebody with a medical fetish and a submissive partner could do great things in a place like this..... Great things....
wow and no security too wow
be safe guys
My worst fear is a hospital with no one in the hospital
mine is medical equipment
so creepy because it seems like someone could come walking around the corner anytime;...and the machine noises
