- A recent study found that higher USMLE Step scores was associated with decreased patient mortality and length of stay . . . but is that all there is to the story? Let's take a look into the article and methodology of this study, special thanks to @sheriffofsodium for shedding light onto this article and providing an amazing analysis of this paper. Such an interesting and provocative little paper!

I highly HIGHLY recommend you check out his full video for the rest of the discussion - he brings up a ton of pretty spicy points and sketchy aspects of the study later and it is extremely interesting to listen to. Here's the link to his video ua-cam.com/video/JKS9Y-nCnKs/v-deo.html
Agree. Dr. Carmody’s videos are very informative and insightful. There is a series on his UA-cam channel covering the origin and history of NREMP matching program.
Wow I just watched this!! The sheriff is such an underrated channel and has such great commentary. Sadly I feel too many publications these days are either pumped out for resume building (a number’s game) or are poorly designed with flowery statistics and one liners that make for a good headline (what’s the agenda here?). There’s a book called How to Lie with Statistics that should be as familiar to physicians as First Aid
I love his presentation skills, if only all faculty taught medical students this way. Medical school faculty sometimes get to teach simply because they're experts in their field and yes they know a lot but that means nothing if you do a crappy job at teaching and your students can't learn from what you are presenting.
