    Are you able to make a aquarium frame that is 60 and 1/8 inches wide by 18 and 5/32 inches deep with center brace? And side braces

      Hello Whitney... Custom Aquariums does not sell frames separate from our tanks. The process for fitting and installing them is not easily DIY.

    Looks nice but countersink rivets would look nicer

    • @CustomAquariums

      Nice idea, but the brace material would have to be significantly thicker to provide the depth for counter sunk heads, additional to the material thickness around the bolt for the necessary brace strength.

    Very cool video guys. Do you sell custom frames for tanks that are not yours?

    • @CustomAquariums

      We do not... sorry. The reason is that our frames are custom fit to each tank, and the way that the frames are installed is as important as the frame itself.

    How and what they paint on the Aluminum brace?

    • @CustomAquariums
      @CustomAquariums 4 роки тому +1

      No paint... Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, and corrosion-resistant finish.

    How to get the product frames

    • @CustomAquariums
      @CustomAquariums 5 років тому

      Hello Eerla... we do not sell frames separate from our tanks because the process for installing the frame is just as important as the materials we use. You can see all of our products at www.customaquariums.com

    Why show it off if you don’t sell the frames.

    • @CustomAquariums
      @CustomAquariums 5 років тому +2

      Our frame system is unique (and patented) to our aquariums, and an integral part of what makes Custom Aquariums different from other manufacturers' tanks. It is also one of the reasons we are able to offer a lifetime guarantee. The process for customs fitting and installing our frame is not as easy as slipping a plastic frame over the edge of a tank, which is why we cannot sell the frames separately. If we could, we would... we get a lot of requests for them.

      We get asked for frames all the time, and are sorry that we cannot sell them. Our frames are custom-fit to each tank, and the process for installing them requires special tools. I think that the major tank manufacturers that use one-piece molded plastic frames should make is easy to buy replacements.

    • @YohanM99
      @YohanM99 5 років тому +2

      @@CustomAquariums I would pay for a training session just to learn how to install them correctly LOL. I do understand the liability that would come with selling a custom fit frame that need to be siliconed and correctly installed then tested with the proper measurement. And end user could mess that up completely.

    1:17 "The upper rim must be braced against the pressure." I think you meant to say BOTTOM rim. The upper rim will have next to zero pressure exerted as pressure increases linearly with depth. ~_^

      Shh. You're going to destroy there business model.

    • @CustomAquariums
      @CustomAquariums 6 років тому +13

      We use a different frame for the bottom of very large tanks that is engineered to withstand the greater pressure at the bottom of the tank. But a frame is also required at the top of aquariums that are too tall to be rimless in order to counter the pressure that water is exerting horizontally from the center of the tank at the same time that it is exerting pressure down and out at the bottom of the tank. If you want to see what that horizontal pressure can do, even in a small tank, measure the width of a standard 10-gallon tank across the center of the top frame (no brace on 10's) with no water in it. Fill the tank and measure it again. There will be a 1/8-1/4" difference, depending upon the manufacturer. Tanks that small can handle that amount of flex, but there are limits reached as tanks increase in size. That is why larger tanks have braces.

      Two month turn around time on a reply. Nice. I sure hope the tanks are churned out a bit quicker.
