Excuse the noob question; i have a blofeld, ie the non key board version / sound module only. 1)Are the patches you demo compatible with my standard Blofeld 2)If so, how do i purchase, as the link may now be out of date. Thanks!
Thanks for asking. This soundset is for standard Waldorf Blofeld keyboard and module. I have now updated the link that takes you DIRECTLY to the store. It is in the video description. Thanks!!!
Tip for those who have purchased the set: You will notice lower volume of some of the bass patches. This is because Waldorf requested all patches to be exactly the same volume - per single key. The good thing is now that you have the set, i left extra gain available for everyone who wants to modify the set! Just go to patch volume set it to max, press store and you're done!! As simple as that! It wont distort because i already calculated / predicted by design to work that way. You should really try some of the bass patches at max patch volume! Do it now, you won't regret!
The Blofeld is greatly underrepresented as a virtual analogue synth. I know it can do fantastic wavetable/digital sounds but this soundset proves that it can sound warm and analogue-like.
It's more interesting to just listen to your patch examples than around 90% of what people from forums like Gearslutz and similar post as whole tracks. Really well done. Also, every time I try a Blofeld in the shop, it sounds so horribly plastic and cold, but your patches are really warm and deep. Good job..
Steril707 It's funny because Don is pretty active on Gearslutz I believe. But I do get and see your point about some of the folks over there. New levels of pretentious in some of em.
lmaoooo what a sound thrashing. i think what you did is known as GearSlutz Shaming. goddamn this whole this whole patchbank just absolutely bangs, jesus fuck . . . . . . . .
I've returned to this beautiful demo video, about a year after my purchase, to say thank you again for the excellent programming! I'm just getting started on a new project, and I realized this soundset has become my instant go-to option, whenever I turn on the Blofeld.
Yep, this sounds great! Just got my Blofeld a couple of days ago... just order this soundest a few minutes ago; Spectre is transferring it as I type this!
Awesome crafting Don. I hope Waldorf supply you with a Quantum! I don't own a synth, but just listening to this soundset is enough to make me want to go and buy the Blofeld Keyboard and experiment. I can't even read music!
So good...I bought this today and my Blofeld feels fulfilled..... A bit of feedback..... It took me a while to work out ( there was no clarifications in the pdf )....I uploaded via Spectre, I think there needs to be a line of text somewhere saying each bank letters hold the same sounds and it's the users choice to choose where to upload the 128 soundset . As a first-time soundset buyer, I admit, I uploaded all of the banks then realised I made a mistake as each bank repeated. After reinstalling the original soundbanks and overwriting the H bank with Analog Voltage all was good. Amazing sounds. Thank you.
Today I purchased the soundset from Waldorf. Excellent work! Exactly what my Blofeld was missing. Very good programming. Also congratulations for this video. I decided to buy the soundset after a couple of views and now that I have the sounds, I can say this is a very thorough demo. You get exactly what you hear and more. Thank you for the good work :)
The Blofeld is still the best value poly hardware on the market. The ridiculous number of wavetables that come included, their modulation and with the modifier section, and stereo filters, the possibilities are absolutely endless. Run the Blofeld through a decent analog distortion, and get yourself an Eventide or Strymon for Reverb, and its glorious. Thats literally my signal chain 90% of the time. Blofeld -> Analog Heat-> Eventide H9 its not getting old.
Once I had managed to download the set..(miserable Spectre wouldn't run on my usual PC), I found it surpassed my already high expectations, wonderful programming.....it's like having a whole new synth
good job Don, so many wonderful patches.. nitrogen, etheral 4 202 bass.. etc.. also, dig the names of patches, full of nice synth and band associations, as well as nicks of some GS members ;)
I own a Blofeld among tons of other VA synths, I have purchased this bank I can tell it's a gem for "bread and butter" analog sounds. Vastly superior to the onboard presets
This synth is so versatile, you can sink hours into experimenting with it and time just flies by... I am happy to have it and would never give it away... I like your patches :), but I have to admit, that I exclusively use my own... keeps me busy with this little Monster, always starting with a fresh init into the evening, better than cinema :)
Man, this was already blowing my mind, but the "Mr Fingers Bass" from "Can You Feel It" is PERFECT. I might have to look into one of these little white boxes.
This patch set is so good. Sooooo good. Sogood. Best sounds I've ever heard from a Blofeld. The factory should have filled all 8 patch banks with sounds of this quality. They probably would have sold twice as many, if the presets were like this.
I think we have a major legal copyright and trademark issue here. Since I protect my rights myself, you will hear from my quick response security team. Regards B.
Just bought a Blofeld desktop. The factory patches (many of them at least) are horrible, sound distorted like they are clipping. I'll be buying this set just as soon as Waldorf tells me how to get my Windows 7 X64 (SP1) box to recognize the Blofelds USB (all my other USB hardware synths have no problem) Thanks for making these patches available to the general public, they sound great 👍
Soooo good! Thanks! Replaced the factory sounds with yours on my Blofish and will never change back! Not an ambient mix without it. Awesome feeling if you're an old guy like me! :-D
Man I should not be here. I just bought a Dread box Typhoon and told myself no more but I can't get enough of this amazing digital sound of the waldorf. I also have a minilogue xd with a digital oscillator but it doesn't have the nice artifacts and texture of the waldorf. Seriously considering buying. The black module looks sweet.
Absolut beeindruckend! Wenn es etwas zu geben scheint, was das kleine Biest Blofeld nicht kann, dann nur, weil es jemand wie Don Solaris noch nicht gemacht hat! ^ ^
I have just received my new WB and have purchased this soundset simply for the 'Goodbye 70's' patch. I have followed the instruction to ugrade via Spectre and the process has completed. However, the patches are not in bank H (the bank I selected). The instructions state the following, but I do not know what a WPC file is. Load the respective WPC file into Spectre, simply drag&drop to the Programs panel.•Hit “Transmit” and have a coffee, transmission might take some time
Hello, I just got the Soundset but I'm having real issues with transfering those into the blofeld. I'm running through a Mac and i'm using SysEx...All help much appreciated, thank you...
***** Hi.. I just used Sysex librarian on the Mac, but any SYSEX MIDI tool should work.. Pretty sure it uses all the basic waveforms as I didn't need to load in any samples
I have this set but it was already loaded on my Blofeld when I bought it. I have tried to figure out if it is installed correctly or? You see in banks A,B and C it is all the same. then from D-H there is different sounds. And there are no Multi's (I think that is normal though). Even a patch list would help so I could see what it is supposed to be organized like, thanks.
Excuse the noob question; i have a blofeld, ie the non key board version / sound module only. 1)Are the patches you demo compatible with my standard Blofeld 2)If so, how do i purchase, as the link may now be out of date. Thanks!

Hi! just bought your set, do you mean going into filter 1 gain and crank that value up? sorry, kind of a newb with the Blofeld
Max volume!
The Blofeld is a must have for the price.
The Blofeld is greatly underrepresented as a virtual analogue synth. I know it can do fantastic wavetable/digital sounds but this soundset proves that it can sound warm and analogue-like.
This soundset is the BEST demo I've ever heard of the Blofeld. I just went from 'strongly inclined' to 'guaranteed purchase'.
This soundest is really helping to cement my decision to buy a Blofield.
It's more interesting to just listen to your patch examples than around 90% of what people from forums like Gearslutz and similar post as whole tracks.

nearly a decade later and i just bought this soundset because it massively rips!
Cant wait to get this baby.Watching this soundset demo over 5 times so far.;)
Whoever made this video did a great job with the video composition editing as well as sound demo , nice work. .!
redbird saraceno this is the dudes channel. The guy that made the video is the one who runs the channel lmao

Very best in class soundset Don Solaris. Finding great analog classics. Keep developing soundsets for the Blofeld. Thank you.
Superb sounds and lots of nods to some very important people! Great to see!
So good...I bought this today and my Blofeld feels fulfilled.....
A bit of feedback.....

softpulses + jupiter arp, tangerine auto, vince c, juno warm, neutrino flux, age of trance + aurora borealis, HoldE1 inside UFO, SH3A, Eno, reverse boards + interval auto... so many amazing asmr triggering sounds!
you nailed the mr fingers bass!

My only gripe? The PWM sounds VERY digital, almost nasal....but for certain sounds, it is useful.
You're right! I've been using the Blofeld with my Eventide Space and Elektron Analog Heat and it's awesome!
Good job, lots to work with. This synth has it's own signature sound. The patches sound good to me.
I own a Blofeld among tons of other VA synths, I have purchased this bank I can tell it's a gem for "bread and butter" analog sounds. Vastly superior to the onboard presets
I never thought about purchasing a Blofeld until I watched this video. Great work, you are very talented.
Excelente sonido muy fino
This took my breath away. (ref. 12:00)
I am sorry about your respitory issues. I hear there are good doctors for that in Berlin :)
Ordered my Blofeld. Can't wait to load this set!
0:50 A Clockwork Orange? It sounded soo like it at least in the beginning!!
Superb! Might consider getting a Blo just because of this soundset! Congrats, Don Solaris!

poeply never sell it. I sold mine and just ordered another haha.
Na, would never do it, ever :)
Mr Fingers Bass !! awesome... going to have get this - one of the best patch banks I've heard for any hardware synth.
I own this soundset and SuitAndTieGuy is probably my favorite patch. Blofeld is such a great synth. Extremely slept on IMHO.
you mean Fu**ed up solina?
Man, this was already blowing my mind, but the "Mr Fingers Bass" from "Can You Feel It" is PERFECT. I might have to look into one of these little white boxes.
This is an excellent soundset. It's a no brainer if you own the Blofeld. An insane amount of work must have went into this! Thanks!
These are some great sounds
A thumbs-down? seriously?!
Nice work, got to get my sticky mittens on a Blofeld one of these days! I love Largo.
I loved the "Christian Rock" one... it gave me the giggles, because I was like, "that sounds just like Echoing Green... OH! I see what he did there."
Just goes to show how good the Blofeld is and why its still in production today!
Very nice set of sounds, This synthesizer is on my buy list, glad to hear some good pathces are available.
Beautiful sound, cheers from France!
12:10 Take my breath away Yazoo ! Tons of other club hits in there. Killer demo.
wow dude, amazing amazing amazing patches! this synthesizer is great, looks like you enjoy very much making this work, so... I WANT ONE!

Whatever happened here?
lol
Don, you totally nailed almost everything. The hard work really shows. Congratulations!
Excellent sound collection! Inspiring and superbly crafted, thanks for sharing and offering!
Brilliant soundset , for the Amazing, Ageless , Blofeld!!! Thank you Don!!!

Chris Strobel Yeah the only presets I really dig are some of the electric piano ones. The rest are quite weak.
Greatest sound set I’ve ever heard. Hope I can load these I’m to my Blofeld. Thx
Good style. Thank you so much. I love this video...and the big Waldorf sound.
Nice work Don. Blofeld... what a powerhouse.
Soooo good! Thanks! Replaced the factory sounds with yours on my Blofish and will never change back! Not an ambient mix without it. Awesome feeling if you're an old guy like me! :-D
Excellent patches! Is amazing how big and spaced sound this "small" synth. Plus the knobs look pretty strong and durable :)
Beautiful. Thank you. Will get my Blofeld soon. This will be an instant purchase.
I love that Suit and Tie Guy got an homage in a patch name.
you cant knock the germans, theyre the best engineers in the world

Wow! Thats some serious work! Made me decide to buy a Blofeld or two and stuff them with your soundset..fantastic
Many thanks
damn Don, you are a superb programmer
Buying this ASAP... That 'faux' string machine is awesome :)
Great sounds and tracks/demos! Now I want a Blofeld too.
Man I should not be here. I just bought a Dread box Typhoon and told myself no more but I can't get enough of this amazing digital sound of the waldorf. Absolutely genius sounset!
well. i'm buying a blofeld just for this. incredible work, sir.
Excellent showcase of presets, many thanks!
Absolut beeindruckend! Wenn es etwas zu geben scheint, was das kleine Biest Blofeld nicht kann, dann nur, weil es jemand wie Don Solaris noch nicht gemacht hat! ^ ^
Seriously impressive!
It's crazy how wet and, erm... analogue the filter can sound on this thing.
Awesome work Don, definitely getting the set.
Very nice soundest! Great work.
Thursday is Blofeld day and I'm gonna pop these in there so damn fast
Congrats! It’s a great synth

Excellent work.
Hello,
I just got the Soundset but I'm having real issues with transfering those into the blofeld. I'm running through a Mac and i'm using SysEx...All help much appreciated, thank you...
Excellent soundset G. Solaris..
Duly purchased and installed
Hello, what did you use to install it? Do you need the licence SL?
*****
Hi.. I just used Sysex librarian on the Mac, but any SYSEX MIDI tool should work.. Pretty sure it uses all the basic waveforms as I didn't need to load in any samples
Loved this evil deeds (blofelds sounds lol) and the akai s3000xl is convincing too. I think im getting it :) Thank you
lmao that top gun one had me cracking up
sounds great
more diverse sounds than almost any module out there
I’m keeping this as a reminder of why I should get a blofeld
Purchased it few seconds ago - love it!
Great demo of this great synth
Sounds really nice! Those House patches mad eme laugh but were nice as well!
Sorry for asking. I just purchased the set without checking if I need LE license for this... I hope it works without it!
What is LE license?
Great Job, don't let any hater tell different.
Very nice drums btw!
12:44 sold me
Nice sounds, like the sense of humor!
Beautiful work, congrats !
11.41 Front 242 - Shuffle..... good stuff from the eighties...I got signed my CD by Front 242 with Shuffle on it...30 years ago...
This still has a bank on my keys, thanks!
The Jupiter Arpeggio sounds sooo much like Nils Frahm - Says!
That's quite impressive...
Excellent work man! Nice to see another Yaz fan :)
23'18" is really really great.
Nice music as well....listening while browsing with google..
great job. these sounds for the blofeld is the clincher to buy one for me.
