Isn’t it so interesting how our relationship with the internet changes as we grow up and our lives change? I often feel nostalgic about the days when I spent hours and hours on sites like LiveJournal and Tumblr and the relationships I forged there (many of which are still active in other places like Facebook and Instagram), but it’s almost like trying to get back together with a boyfriend after you’ve broken up. Even though there are a lot of good memories, you aren’t the same person anymore and it can never be how it was before even if a part of you wants it to be.
At the time that I’m writing this, she just had her baby last month! I know it’s been so many years since she’s made videos and she may never do it again. But I love her videos for many years and still feel warmly about them and her. It’s so awesome to see these big happy moments for her. After all these years.

I feel like this is happening with a lot of the, I don't know the words I'm looking for here but I'm going to say first generation youtubers and I think it's because we're all growing up and growing past the need for this platform. A lot of the people I've been following since I first joined UA-cam have been pulling away and haven't made content in ages. While that makes me sad because I LOVE your content, I'm super happy you are doing great things in your life. Thank you for everything you've done in the past and here's to an exciting future! Can't wait for NaNo 2k18!
I agree, I also see that happen a lot. But as a first (maybe second) generation viewer I also find it harder to keep up with watching everyone. I am adulting (or trying to) as well and it's becoming harder to incorporate UA-cam into that, both watching and creating.
I'm so happy for you! I totally get it with the youtube thing. You made videos for such a long time, it makes sense that you want to branch out and be creative in other ways. Also congradulaitons on the wedding being so close. I remember when Joe first started popping up in your videos and reading all the comments wonding if you were dating since you just had such great chemistry. I'm glad it's worked out so well for you.
Girl, I second the wedding planning! We had an 18 month engagement that just extended the misery so much longer. We were so happy on our honeymoon when we realized NO MORE WEDDING PLANNING!!! That said, have fun :) We enjoyed picking music the most. We just drank and went through our playlists together to make it into a few dates!

Glad to see a new video! I was doing UA-cam myself for over five years, but I have slowly migrated away from it as well. My channel has always been super small, and now I'm losing monetization on it because of the new thresholds so I will probably stop vlogging although I did my first Vlogmas just this past December. I also have writing to focus on -- you inspired me to start doing NaNoWriMo (and I've won three years in a row now). The sci-fi novel I wrote for NaNo 2015 is finally done (I spent a lot of time editing it) and I'm ready to start querying agents and hope to get published. Long time, 25 year old subscriber, who once upon a time had a bigger online presence, now in a relationship, with a job...wow this is eerie... While others may disappointed, I totally get what you mean by adulting and self care. We’re never in a fixed state of being, we ebb and change constantly! You’re human, and huger personalities like Jim Carrey come to mind (with his latest Netflix documentary) struggling about having to be “on” all the time. Just be you. You’re feeling balanced without actively UA-cam-ing. As long as you’re happy and balanced, that’s all that matters. Thanks for taking the time for the update. Adulting goals! I haven’t interacted a ton on your videos before, but I’ve been watching for a long time and it’s great to see an update! I’m planning my wedding now too, and it’s just so nice to hear other people who don’t love the process. I’m very excited to be married, but I don’t like planning the wedding. I’ve mostly found it stressful and overwhelming, but everyone acts like planning a wedding is so fun so it can be frustrating to talk to people about it. But at least we’re both entering the home stretch of the process! I hope your creative projects keep you happy and sane as you near the big day!
I got married last December and we booked the wedding literally one week before and had 7 days to prepare and book everything, invite the guest etc, and I sewed my own wedding dress by hand during that time too. Very hectic, but turned out very well in the end. You'll be just fine! 😊
Glad to see a new video! Don't feel pressured to do things like UA-cam if you're not as invested in them as you once were, priorities change as we get older. I have been watching your videos since 2010 (8 Years!!) when I discovered fiveawesomegirls and I too went through a time where I was very involved in the UA-cam community, but finishing college and going to graduate school and getting ready for a move from Missouri to California has sort of stopped me from making or watching videos really. I've been following you since 5AG, and back then, you were exactly the kind of cool creative young adult I wanted to be when I got older. Now I'm 23, done with college, also working at a tech company and trying balance that with self care and my creative endeavors. I wouldn't have believed it all those years ago, but I think I look up to you even more now! So don't stress about things changing, because watching you go through these changes a few years ahead of me has been so, so helpful and your current online presence is meaningful and enough.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been around since the All Caps days, and I'm amazed at how much you've grown since then. I currently live in Japan, and I have been teaching a student English with Trainers in Love because they love Pokémon. They can sing the Pokémon English theme off by heart, and I'm so proud~
Crazy coincidence! So 30 minutes ago I was scrolling through social media with a wandering mind.. and I think “wait what happened to that UA-camr I used to watch that lived in Seattle and talked about Harry Potter?”. I couldn’t remember your name, but a small amount of googling and I found your channel again to see that you had just uploaded this video! I’ve pretty much grown out of watching UA-camrs and don’t really spend that much time on it anymore. But I remember you fondly as a positive influence on my younger self. I can super relate to the moving from UA-cam creator (for me it was for a brand) into a more corporate role and having to find which hobby is most important etc and wedding planning and gaming tables!!! That table is incredible. We were giving a wooden table and we made a groove around the edges for cards and have a padded surface in the middle panels which is lovely but MY GOD YOURS IS HEAVENLY Are you planning to do a wedding planning reflection blog or anything like that?

I think I got out of UA-cam before yourself but I found myself back here today after like 3 years just to see if people were still around and i guess see what you were up to really. It's super weird the way we idolise the people we used to watch on UA-cam as kids really. Really happy to hear that you're not giving up on UA-cam completely. As a longtime viewer, I do miss you over here when you're gone but I also know where to find you if I'm wondering what you're currently up to. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from this video at first because I know this platform is definitely a much different environment now than it was when being a creator here was your primary focus. It would've been very understandable if this wasn't really a positive experience anymore.
It really isn't, tbh. But that has never been about my viewers, so I think a little update video or one-off project now and then is absolutely still on the table. :)

I heard about NaNo from your videos and I've been participating since 2012. I self-published my 2013 NaNo story this year. It's weird to think how that would have happened if I would have never heard of NaNo.
Im so glad I'm not alone. People get so taken aback when I am not all smiles and happy tears and rainbows about it. It's like, everything I am good at, but EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION ABOUT IT and I have to fight uphill to do anything unique. Gah.

So 30 minutes ago I was scrolling through social media with a wandering mind.. and I think “wait what happened to that UA-camr I used to watch that lived in Seattle and talked about Harry Potter?”. I couldn’t remember your name, but a small amount of googling and I found your channel again to see that you had just uploaded this video! I’ve pretty much grown out of watching UA-camrs and don’t really spend that much time on it anymore. But I remember you fondly as a positive influence on my younger self. You had insightful videos with great book recommendations, music and gaming that I very much enjoyed. Glad to see you happy and I wish you all the best! Congrats on the engagement!

I can super relate to the moving from UA-cam creator (for me it was for a brand) into a more corporate role and having to find which hobby is most important etc and wedding planning and gaming tables!!! That table is incredible. We were giving a wooden table and we made a groove around the edges for cards and have a padded surface in the middle panels which is lovely but MY GOD YOURS IS HEAVENLY

I 100% understand the prolong wedding planning feeling. Went though the exact same thing. Wedding was amazing. No longer having to worry about the wedding was even more amazing. Would still do it the same way again, but I'm really glad it's done. Glad to hear life is going well and enjoy your wedding! ^_^ Super happy for you guys.

I think I got out of UA-cam before yourself but I found myself back here today after like 3 years just to see if people were still around and i guess see what you were up to really. It's super weird the way we idolise the people we used to watch on UA-cam as kids really. Really happy to hear that you're not giving up on UA-cam completely. As a longtime viewer, I do miss you over here when you're gone but I also know where to find you if I'm wondering what you're currently up to. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from this video at first because I know this platform is definitely a much different environment now than it was when being a creator here was your primary focus. It would've been very understandable if this wasn't really a positive experience anymore.
It really isn't, tbh. But that has never been about my viewers, so I think a little update video or one-off project now and then is absolutely still on the table. :)

While I will miss you around, I am happy for you. You're one of the first UA-camrs that I subscribed to and have stuck with. I heard about NaNo from your videos and I've been participating since 2012. I self-published my 2013 NaNo story this year. It's weird to think how that would have happened if I would have never heard of NaNo.

Im so glad I'm not alone. People get so taken aback when I am not all smiles and happy tears and rainbows about it. It's like, everything I am good at, but EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION ABOUT IT and I have to fight uphill to do anything unique. Gah.
Same! I thought I would love it because I'm super into DIY crafts and stuff but they opinions are too much! I'm not a big wedding person, so I wanted to add some unique elements to my wedding but everything gets shot down pretty quickly it's a bit discouraging. I think it'll be worth it though!!
