Horseback Archery Ain’t No Joke!

- Our girl Abby Casey heads to North Georgia to see what it’s all about.
We recently made our way down to Cox Arena in Silver Creek, Georgia, to kick up some dirt with the Chattahoochee Horse Archers. Mounted archery makes any other type of archery seem like cake-try keeping your balance while running wide open on a horse, knocking an arrow and hitting a target at the same time. That’s what the Chattahoochee Horse Archers do, and they do a damn good job at it.

Elizabeth is awesome! You learned from a great person!
I just attended a clinic with Elizabeth Tinnan. It was a really awesome experience, and I learned a lot.
Abby literally does *_everything_*
This is so freaking exciting... I LOVE IT
Omg, I wanna do this! ❤ but I will have to learn how to ride first, which might take a while! 😩
Thumb release, guys. It's made for horseback. Much more stability that way. Other than that, nice. I would love to try this some day. It would be a dream come true.
@isiman100 Lajos Kassai shoots mediterranean of horseback, so I wouldn't say it doesn't work, nor would I say these people know nothing about it, having that in mind. But thumb release or even Persian release is far more suited for it.
@isiman100 Like I said, it's more effective. That doesn't mean that mediterranean doesn't work. What you practice you will perfect.
You're bringing up history immediately, as if people doing it for fun today need to worry about it. Threading the arrow through the bow would be my number one concern when it comes to Kassai and historical accuracy. As you cannot do it as carefree with a broadhead. Neither can you pull it out of your bow hand as he does.
So you see, in modern days people are free to shoot however they like, as they do it for fun, nothing more. It doesn't have to be super effective. None of them are going to be world champions at horse archery, I'm pretty sure of that 😁
I prefer thumb release either way. And one day when I start horse archery that won't change.
I"ll be taking my first Mounted Archery course in January!!!! Squee
Nice
Yay congrats, hope you have fun
We (Turks) use Archery Rings for that
Its not really used in horseback archery as it slows down the process of drawing the arrow
this is an awesome sport i have been doing it in a year now
Wow, cool! I would love to try this sport! 😊❤ but I'll need to learn how to ride
@@jiliciar.1423 theres plenty of places that can teach you :D

@@blanka1376 Yeah I'll try, thnx!
Watch Kassai Lajos from Hungary! He is one of the best
love your saddle, what kind is it?
Stacey Garrett you mean her sadel
blanka, it's spelled saddle.
Blissed girls cheers ! I do what ever I wanted ! I shot everything I want !
Asians prefer thumb ring bows just saying ;)
Jó videó.
Wrong release for horseback archery. Thumb release !
There is no wrong or correct release in archery. Even this was used historicaly.
thank god finally someone who's not dressed like a warlock
Why would horse archery be a joke anywayes its not a video game if that's what u mean.its real not fake action. Just like war.people play videogames and think real war is like videogames.
