My father lived in New York City when he was young. He told me of the formation of S.55 seaplanes that landed in NYC when flying to Chicago for the World’s Fair. He was always impressed by the S.55. I built a model of the S.55 and had it for many years.
thank you for sharing this video. Gives me a better understanding of such a beautiful airplane. I have a model kit of this but ebay provided a new "Torpedo bomber Version" I didn't know existed so I had to buy that one too.
Hi Liver - my wife is from Constanta, and she used to fishing with her father in Lacul Sutghiol. I just spoke to her (I have made a model of the plane) and he told here not to cast a line in a certain place because there was the wreck of a plane there.
@@markgordon2260 True. Those people know better maybe. Because of corruption we will not see soon the wreck, because the authorities are occupied with something else.

one of these planes is on the Sutghiol's lake bottom in Romania , near Black Sea. It was destroyed during WW2 by russian aviation bombings .
