Slight correction. SuperSplash at TusenFryd was actually the first Mack SuperSplash. Atlantica SuperSplash was still a prototype, as it was the first to include turntables and take guests backwards.
Thanks for pointing that out. I missed TusenFryd's opened first. This is still a prototype since it added the turntables, but I'll try to update that in the video without taking it down.
I'm usually in San Antonio during the cooler months, but I recently got my first ride on that Journey to Atlantis in 6 years, and I was reminded why I don't mind it being closed for most of my visits. It's not bad, but there's not much to it. It was over 1000 degrees that day, and everything I had with me was waterproof, so I didn't mind getting wet, and there was no wait. I think Catapult Falls, the far better water ride, has taken riders away from Journey to Atlantis.
I prefer Atlantica SuperSplash over Poseidon. I went on Poseidon last year and it was just way too painful for me. I don't know if it was before or after the retrack work was done.
I know that Europa is owned by Mack so it makes sense that they would try different ride models, but it's pretty bizarre that Mack would have two water coasters that do basically the same thing in the same park. Especially with Poseidon having a more dynamic layout.
I think so, Mack have always classed it under their coasters, and RCDB usually lists them as coasters. When I ride it it just kinda feels more like a coaster than typical :)
As usual your opinion generally matches mine. Just an incredibly boring ride that is far more interesting visually off ride. There are much better choices at Europa as you mentioned. The shuffle on Poseidon is no joke from what I remember, but I'd take it over this any day.

I believe the prototype of the model was actually SuperSplash at Tusenfryd, it opened in 2003

And that one oddly doesn't have the bunny hill like Atlantica SuperSplash.
I think it's neat. Looks like a lot of fun.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's fun.
"I've seen some POV's where it rotates 470 degrees."
I would love to see that. 😂
Look at the kirmesfanmopohl POV from 2019.

The retrack helped Poseidon if you rode it before.
Huh, now I know why RCDB doesn’t count the one at Plopsaland De Panne. I really wish they were more transparent about their criteria
I think that logic was in the SuperSplash ride model description

It is an odd choice, but it is a different model with some different tech.
Still trying to work out if this should count as a cred

I get the argument either way, but I count it.

And they fixed Poseidon's shuffle with the retrack.
4 is right.
It's fine but less than average for a water coaster.
If this is a coaster, so is any log flume with a bunny hop. Prove me wrong.
This has the extra drop outside of the final drop sequence if you use RCDB logic.
