RCR ported and rodded intake VS stock intake dyno results on our max effort all motor car...

- Our first of many tests we plan to make with our workhorse G8.
The tune was changed for fueling only to accommodate the much lower airflow the MAF was seing with the stock intake.
Swapping to a ported and rodded intake would require tune changes as the ported one flows more, which in turn makes the MAF see more airflow, so it adds more fuel. That would make your car run richer and thus lose power from an improper AFR even though the ported intake is flowing more. Inversely, like in our case, we had to "add" fuel as
the stock intake was not seeing as much airflow so it showed lean, which makes more power on the dyno, but will not be safe or fast on the street/track.
I also believe this ported intake would show even larger gains with 100+ MPH air bwing pushed through it!
Great info as usual
Thank yoy
Great info, thanks for sharing.
You're welcome
Great info..should toss in a fast 102 to compare as well but from my experience ls3 102 isn't worth the money
Look at past videos
Did a 102 with short and long runners a few years ago. HP the same, just moved it up to higher RPMs
I'm hoping ur gonna be my tuner! I'm a long ways off from that point but I'm going to need a good tuner over the phone and I figured I don't know anyone better at tuning a l76...I do have some parts for mine though
Let me know. Even stock a tune helps...
@@nufnuffz28 oh I will definitely...my build is moving along so when I'm ready for a startup I'll be calling you for some airmail!
NIce Info guys! Quick question what have you seen with the Fast 102's on these type setups. i am thinking about go All motor with a 150 shot.
Check my older videos. It increased the RPM it peaked at, but same HP
Interesting comparison. I guess if you're trying to get a few 10ths off your time it might be worth porting
When you get to the small gains, every HP counts. Worth it for max efforts
Have you done a video on this max effort g8 build? These are good numbers for all motor
@@kylel4689 it's our blue G8 we have been 10.2s with. I need to get new information on it again for the newet viewers. Its basically our shop car. Also lool for the dyno videos. Made over 700 on a shot... going for 570 motor and 800 nitrous soon. I will recap the car again soon for the newer viewers as I Haven't posted too much on it in the last couple years.
@@nufnuffz28 awesome will be on the lookout for it man ! Can't wait to see it
@@kylel4689 sounds good
Interesting. The stock manifold made the same numbers, then you spin it to show a gain.
Yeah. Ported manifold shows gains in the upper RPM range. Gonna do more testing on this with a 5th gen Camaro next week!
@@nufnuffz28did this test happen?
@@paisley2342 yes. There is a manual 5th gen we did somewhere in here!. About 7 or 8 is what we saw iirc
What kind of compression you running? Milled heads?
Almost 12/1. Tsp heads
Are you get spray bars installed on the Rcr intake?
Yes. Its already slightly ported and has the stands removed.
@@nufnuffz28 are they gonna remove the rods that Rick puts in ?
@@sickesstvenado96 i would assume replace them
@@nufnuffz28 I need to get with you about a remote tune for my G8 it's been dyno tune already but I feel like is missing something
@@sickesstvenado96 sounds good. Email me. Nufnuffz28@yahoo.com
Is it a stroker?
Really well setup 6.0.
What cam?
