I have put the PowerPoint files on the OnlineQDA website (URL in the About section above) and I will add the Carl Cuneo transcription errors handout in the next few days.
Most of them are PowerPoint files (.ppt) and you will need a copy of MS PowerPoint to read them (down load them and save to hard disk first). Many other programs (including some open source ones) can also read these files, but not the browsers you are using. Actually the files can also be read on a iPad.
This is great stuff! What do you think of 20-minute qualitative audio as long as you get the details you want, or you basically have to stick to the 40-60 minutes standard rule despite a lot of hmmm from the respondent.
I am having difficulty to access the Power point files. I have tried to open it with IE, mozilla and google chrome. Please help me with this matter. Thank you.
This is great. However, when was this made? I'm curious about your comment regarding video transcription. I am designing a software that would help people who need to transcribe video. Thanks!
Erin, it was made in 2010. I have to admit I haven't used speech recognition software for a couple of years, with the exception of the built in transcription facility in UA-cam. This 'works' on any voice, but when I tried it on my videos it was not even good enough to give a rough indication of content. I think the software is still a long way from the kind of accuracy that most qualitative researchers need in their transcripts.

Thank you so much for sharing this video and all your valuable videos; very helpful.
how come this video is not transcribed, subtitled, in clean verbatim?

Can't understand anything, the background noise is too disturbing
I'm very sorry about that. I made this recording before I started using a lavalier mic, so the mic on the camera picked up all the room noise too.
