Lido doesn't run the validators. The validator runners are voted in by the DAO, but they run their own validators and have to meet standards to stay in.

Is ada in a better state?
This is the wrong channel to ask serious questions about Ada. At the 1:30 mark in this video she said “ LIDO was first in market to offer liquid staking” this is not true. It was Cardano and their is a HUGE difference between liquid staking in ETH vs Cardano. Do your own research and when you hear false info your red flags come up.
@swismyid I was just curious if ada also had nodes that had a very large percentage of the ada or is it well spread for ada. Since she was talking about ETH I think most of us understood that she meant Lido was the first for ETH.
@@redvries9546 So the Nakamoto coefficient of Cardano last time I looked is at 38. And the largest group or "entity" labled as SOLO has 29% of nodes. SOLO SPO (Stake Pool Operators) are actually a collection of independent stake pool operators. LIDO is owned and controlled by JP Morgan. To my knowledge there are not any Wall St banks running nodes on Cardano. But if they wanted to they could certainly fire up one. And if I misinterpreted what she meant then I stand corrected. Proof of Work is a lot better consensus mechanism than Proof of Stake. With Proof of Work you have to control 51% of all the ASIC machines and that's impossible to do because these machines are in the hands of over 100,000 different parties in the case of Bitcoin. Proof of Work can't be subverted even if you have a lot of money to do so because you can't buy up all of these machines if you don't know who owns them. Proof of Stake is a lot weaker because some party with a lot of money (a hedge fund for example) can spend that money to stake and take over the network. Switching over to Proof of Stake was a mistake for the Ethereum network.
That I didn't understand TWO sentences of what she was talking about is EXCELLENT reaon to AVOID crypto like it was the PLAGUE!

LIDO can't make their creditors whole without more WETH. LIDO DAO has lost access to a portion their keys, which means the LIDO DAO doesnt have access to all of the 29% market. share.

as a small time gpu miner, I thought the switch off of POw made eth centralized...the person,company or entity that has the most eth staked is the controller of it? So lucky rich companies or people with tons of eth have the most say.... i miss the the old school even the little guy can help the network with her gpu... oh well...

You are wrong. Before a few select people could mine, hardware and other factors required, now just about anyone can stake. There is a much lower barrier.

@@dregga7638 “Force” was perhaps too strong of word. The idea is that once trust is lost in Proof-of-Stake coins, some people will move their funds to the safer Proof-of-Work Bitcoin. Others may lose trust of all crypto and revert all Bitcoin and crypto funds to more traditional assets (fiat, metals, real estate, etc.).

They make more exploiting the bug let’s say 20 million for being devious. I do think rogue behaviors are being cut off as the industry grows. There are still new (tornado cash like exit doors for weak men to hurt others) kill those set traps 🪤 and we got a nice system.
